  1. Has any one ever seen someone deliberately land on their head because they wear a helmet?
  2. well if no one tells you first, I'll let you know tomorrow as Im expecting my pro-track to have been delivered today and I already own a dyter. Personally it simply doesnt bother me. So long as they're set to the same hight (so go off at about the same time) they're going to work fine. A noise in the ear is a noise in the ear and if two different noises cause more distraction that can only be good. these things are supposed to distract you - i dont see it as a confusion issue - if you hear a noise and dont know what it means you have lost altitude awareness.
  3. no the fuck you dont - your not turning this thread into a debate about them as well! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - even my own thread turns against me!!! ARRRGGGGH

  5. LOL I filled in the order form for one of their "clasic" frownies. This month they're on special for only $0.00 (quite a good deal I know). They wanted $20 to ship it to me here in the UK though. Guess I cant have one :-(
  6. I think he means why didnt you go to the trouble of getting opinions on it before you shelled out money on it?

hey tricky - maybe you can introduce me to your friend george and I'll see how good she is in head down
  10. The J4 is built for a 190. The J7 is built specifically for PD 280 manta and student canopies. You would have a very squishy pack job puting a 190 into a J7 - this can lead to safety concerns such as premature deployments. I would not want to jump it. Javelins generally hold one size either side of their ideal - therefore I really wouldnt want to put much smaller than a 250 in a J7 personally. email rigging@sunpath.com and ask them their advice. Take their advice.
  11. newbies screw up pack jobs. This pushes the stats way up. Look at the types of mals listed, a lot of them can be caused by packing errors (no offence to anyone) Once people have a few jumps under their belt and know their pack job more thoroughly they tend to have different types of mal... like spun up highly loaded elipticals. Besides this is a thread for "first mal" - stands to reason the ones reported would be in the lower umbers.
  12. Cool - sounds like they are really trying to keep people happy, always a good thing. Overall Im happier ordering from a company who will go overboard with customer service if the do make a mistake than with a company that claims to never make mistakes. We all make mistakes.
  13. mmmm credit cards.... I had 2 weeks in perris at easter on my "september card" (aka sainsburries visa to be paid off by sept) I just ordered a new rig
  14. It took me 3 months to get my last jump in when I was finishing my RAPS course. Was over the winter here so weather was shite. Went to the DZ 5 weekends in a row only to sit there on weather hold all day.
  15. You all have my thoughts blues ones dude.
  16. or did you see the bit in the bond movie where the rocket powered ice sled pops out a ram air paracute to slow it down.... surely all that would happen is it would catch air, go above the sled and pick up the back end. I guess you would slow down... but only cos the damn parachute crashes you into the ground. (other than that ian marshal did a great job of demoing buck palace) >>>
  17. their web site has been down on and off last week. Also when I ordered mine, they responded to me using their own personal e-mails as the company one was down. I guess they were having technical problems so bounced back e-mails may not be something to be too worried about. If they do keep on ignoring you (I would put money on them trying to sort it out as they seem to be good to their customers) I'll let you have the personal e-mail adress so you can bug em direct.
  18. I aint sayin nothing... http://www.peapit.com/flyrightgear/ottocam.html
  19. adi that makes your bottom line about £100 cos you know theres a flight up for grabs for that. I'll see if I can talk marius into giving you the ticket - you can borrow my pd reserve..... you got insurance right? how about having two cypres's installed and the closing loop threaded through two cutters? Is it the altitude or the electronics that puts all you people off?
  20. ive seen a few who do, the guy who flys the G92 at weston is one example from the weekend.
  21. Doing a static line jump the biggest risk to you would probably be on landing. The opening is usually very gentle, thats how I learned and I never had a hard opening. You do have to take into account the risk of a poor landing though. Landings are supposed to be like stepping off the bottom step of a flight of stairs, (and many are), but many people dont get their first landing just right (understandable). Your first landing might therefore be more like jumping out of a tree as a kid. If you think you can handle that sort of impact then I say go for it - but let the tandem master and DZ controlers know about your concerns before you jump - your their responsability while you're there.
  22. ok, so which bit cant you do without?
