Those are PD's words not mine. But by pulling down on the front risers you may go faster but you are going down faster not accross the ground faster. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

When I was with the Fire Dept. we would use to un-glue fingers that were glued together with Crazy Glue. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

Do you like this month's Parachutist cover photo?

But I did notice they felt printing with black ink on a blue background would make it easier to read, if you use a flood light. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Maybe you are asking the wrong person.

From PD’s web sit. A Note on Comparing Canopies: When comparing two different canopy designs, such as the original Sabre and the Sabre2, an accurate comparison can only be made if the canopies are the same size, they are flown under similar conditions, and they are flown by the same jumper, or by two jumpers of very similar size and weight. Comparing a 150 Sabre2 to a 170 square foot canopy, for example, would not yield an accurate comparison. Comparing a Sabre1 150 against a Sabre2 135 is apples and oranges. Straight Flight at full Glide: The Sabre2 and the original Sabre both fly at about the same airspeed, but the glide angle of the Sabre2 is a bit flatter. You may notice the Sabre2 gives you better penetration when flying into the wind, and carries you farther when flying with the wind at your back. According to PD the glide is better with Sabre2 But like you said what you are used to can influence your perceived feel for the canopy. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Velocity Hard Opennings !!! The ANSWER

Did you notice any wear caused by the Velcro? I cheat, I use Dacron lines. I have made a couple like that one only using baby snaps. Seems to work fine. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

That would be me. 15 pounds is the maximum allowable pull force, but it's easy to create a much higher pull force by bending the pins. Mark I am not sure I know that method of packing, is it somelthing new? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Velocity Hard Opennings !!! The ANSWER

Where did you place the excess? In the tray? Did you rotate the bag so the grommets faced the BOC? If so, did this create any issues with moving the lines around? I made this bag and have well over 1000 jumps on it without any problems. -
Back in the 80’s there were hundreds if not thousands of jumps made off El Cap. using regular skydiving gear. At least 3 that I know of were able to use their reserves, all 3 round reserves, and all survived. While I agree it is better to use task specific equipment when available, it can and has been done safely with skydiving rigs. The guy who started the whole BASE thing never did jump a BASE rig. No more calls we have a winner. Smart ass. -
Jimmy, you want patches, we got patches. And there were all on someone's jumpsuit at one time. This is only one hand full out of a large grocery bag full.

uh, hm. per a post on a different thread, Jeb been replaced by Eli, another experienced skydiver/BASE jumper. your assumed negative impact did not materialize, in this instance. care to reconsider? or will you deny this fact and repackage your argument? I was not aware of that and it does surprise me. Consider it reconsidered. We can only hope it will not affect future opportunities. The effect on those will be hard to gage. What is the maximum pull force on a chest mount reserve? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
That is true, but it sure is fun. Is that what you're waiting for? Tim, I believe you are one of the people that do understand what I am getting at. A good example I guess would be the guy that got busted trying to jump the Empire State Building. He had a job as a co-host for a weekly TV program featuring Extreme sports and stunts. His arrest created a great deal of negative media for skydiving and BASE. He lost his job. Now the kicker, how long do you think it will be before a producer is willing to take another chance on a BASE jumper or a skydiver for that matter. The cost of one man's ego negatively impact many for a long time. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Lew, I just got home and saw the picture. I think it sucks. It looks like three guys standing in front of a blue screen. It does nothing to promote safe skydiving; it does nothing to promote skydiving period. The United States Parachute Association and its 34,000 member skydivers enjoy and promote safe skydiving through parachuting training, rating, and competition programs. USPA represents parachute jumping from aircraft and helps keep skydivers in the air. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rarely. A decade or so ago, Parachutes de France issued a Service Bulletin telling riggers to clean cutaway housings that had a excess of cutting oil remaining from the winding process. Aerodyne put out a SB on the same thing in March 2005. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
There was some sort of copyright thing over it but I am not sure what.
-
Tom Sanders was the first one to come up with that one I think.

I hate to say it but a great deal of the information you will gather on this forum will have little or no basis in fact. Skydivers tend to take thinks like excerpts out a causal conversation and turn them into hard and fast “facts”. “My buddy says his rigger said this so”, next thing you know someone thinks he is a parachute designer. Continue to do your research and really look hard at what people preach as gospel. With just a little knowledge and common sense you will be able to see probable fact from fiction. If you can find a copy of it, “A short course on Decelerator System Technology” by Helmut G. Heinrich makes for good light reading. Like Mick said, you want information, give some information.
