    It was a Streamlite and the main was completely free packed, no bag at all. As I went through 1000 feet I fired the reserve. The reserve canopy bounced off the main 2 or 3 times and inflated. Had time to pull the main up between my legs and get turned into the wind. Reserve canopy was a diaper deployed R-4 Performer, 26' conical. But it can happen when using a d-bag.     Ask a local rigger, they are fairly easy to make. The AF flight suit has a pocket on the left leg that can be used for a knife if not wearing a G suit. If in a G suit they are in the survival kit or seat pan. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    Not so vague. TSO-C23b Standard Type: Tested to shock load of 5,000 pounds. Low Speed Type: Tested to shock load of 3,000 pounds. Limited to use in airplane under 150 MPH. Sort of confusing. TSO-C23c Category A: 90 kg (198 lb)/ 130 knots. Category B: 115 kg (254 lb)/ 150 knots. Category C: 115 kg (254 lb)/ 175 knots. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    I just weighed one and it was 1.9 oz. or 53.8 grams. That includes 20 inches of ½” Type III tape and a snap. I may just be me but I don’t consider that HEAVY. You are right they are a high quality knife. They are high carbon steel and very sharp. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    Tension knots are more likely with line stows. There is more chance you will have uneven release of the line groups. It’s the slack in one line group that causes tension knots. But by far the biggest cause is body position at line stretch. If one shoulder is low the line groups on that side will take tension first while the other side is slack. This is when tension knots happen. jmo The bag I pictured is jumped with a 245 Sharpchuter. Pretty heavy canopy. It is my feeling, no proof, that line length has more effect then canopy size. Again jmo BTW, I have a lot of skydiving experience so please take all this as a retired test jumper’s opinion. (I couldn't resist) My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
