CYPRES vs. VIGIL I do not which one to choose ...
mjosparky replied to maLUCo's topic in Gear and Rigging
Thanks. I thought you were referring to a SB issued by VIGIL. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Stay out of the air until you can run on it without pain or discomfort. If you go too early and re-injure it you may be out for much longer. The sky will be there when you are ready. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Vigil has problems with its cables too (not able to handle simple movements) There was a service bulletin about that Pete Do you have a link? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

You are dealing with an electrical device made by people. Anything is possible. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Actually, it is Air, Inspect, and Repack. I see I&R all the time on the data card, but that is not a correct recordation of what needs to be recorded. BS, MEL Where does it say "Air, Inspect, and repack? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

About 2 years ago a well skydiver, 2 times world champion, was involved in a freefall collision during a big way. While not knocked out he was injured enough that he could not pull his reserve. His AAD fired and his reserve deployed. The brand of AAD he was wearing was an FXC Astra. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
I would say they make pretty good CRW canopies. Sparky See Attachment: My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Like so many things in skydiving, there is not rush. Wait until you have a few more jumps and landings. The night will be there waiting for you. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Where are you going with this? Those aren't like zoo toggles. My only concern would be how quick the brake setting might wear. If it wears fine, then the design is a good one. The picture in the link was not of a "zoo toggle" but the text described them. The ones on Mike’s blog are almost identical to the zoo’s I used for years. 303 High Tech Fabric Guard on new container
mjosparky replied to soulbabel's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would recommend getting a piece of the fabric your container is made of and test it first. Some container fabric has a rubber type backing and 303 says not to use on that type of thing. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

Most otters used for skydiving were made before halon came around. Unless they were upgraded I doubt they use halon. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

This is a scary statement. You have 90 jumps over 2 years and believe you have developed the skills to fly a canopy loaded at 1.4. When the shit hits the fan things can happen really, really quick. Vaya Con Dios Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Hey Mike, I just read you rant on the new toggles you came up with that use a pin. Have you ever heard of "Zoo Toggles"?

When I received mine it was a star formation. As Bill explained it to me you had to “break wrists” on a “Star”. SCR could be any type of formation. Sparky See Attachment. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I have 3 kids and they are always welcomed at the DZ. Quote You choose to have kids I did not. I do not own a dz but I did state my opinion. I have seen kids cut canopy lines with a hook knife and watched dogs piss on canopies. Kids and dogs do not understand what is going on at a dz and they do things not because they are bad but because their parents/owner can’t watch them every minute. Not everyone finds other people’s kid and dogs cute or entertaining. I am not trying to start a pissing contest, it’s just my opinion. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
