Save a cold one for me, I be there in the mornning. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Skydiving has always been a “niche industry” when compared to say skiing or MC riding. But shoddy work has never been “an acceptable standard” in the industry. Over the years I have seen more than a few companies start up and try to push a crappy product. None of them are around today. I don’t know who this Paolo clown is but his idea of acceptable standard has never been acceptable in any industry I know of. I am now pretty heavily involved in RC trucks and have found that many of the after market producers will not do business with companies or individuals from Italy. Things like this might be the reason why. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Anyone know if this can be used as reserve
mjosparky replied to chrishansen's topic in Gear and Rigging
Rob, I doesn't count unless you pack the canopy in the rig. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

I am glad to hear you are back in the air Buddy. And yes you are a skydiver. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
If no one else has then you are going to be the first. That way you will get a low number. When you are ready I’ll go base. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

United States Jumps License In sport : 3850 : C 10602 : 35 years You have got to be kidding, right? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Since they give you such a limited space I had a stamp made with just my cert # and seal digits. I stamp the card and then sign over it. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I think you are trying to over-complicate it. While a class of license can be reduced over time the standards for the exam are not reduced for the same class. If you get a class 2 medical Oct. 2000 it will be a valid class 3 until the end of Nov. 2005 if you are under 40 years of age. If over 40 it will expire at the end of Nov. 2002. This is only true if you do not renew your class 2. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Where to get A-Certified Cheaply
mjosparky replied to kgp4death's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I doubt that anyone thinks you are stupid. If you can get over the egos, what a skydiver with an ego, you will find that the majority of people who post are genuinely trying to be helpful. But you are right you have a lot to learn. Some will come easy and some will come with time and experience. No one knows it all and the best any of us can do is to keep learning. It is more important in skydiving then in bowling. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

+1 Bill, My money is on Turist. He talks like he is planning a week at the beach instead of spending a week learning how not to die. If saving a few bucks it that big an issue open a savings account and join a book club. Sparky Air Trash Old Farts at Taft May 29, you going to make it? USPA did what many organizations do; they tried to fix a training problem by throwing regulations at. Hundreds of jet pilots and air crew were able to figure the “Blast Handle” out and most of them had never jumped. Hell in those days you could have a right hand pull a left hand pull even a cross hand pull. That was just the main, on reserves you could have right, center, left and that was before including handles on the MLW. Anyone too dumb to pull their reserve handle is too dumb to jump. There was never any “official” recall or AD issued on the blast handle that I know of but there were a least 2 AD’s issued by the FAA on plastic handles. AD-80-13-01 and AD- 84-10-03 Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Fall rate...any suggestions?
mjosparky replied to TiaDanger's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Tia, If you listen to anyone listen to Rosa, (VanillaSkyGirl). I have watched her go from a timid 30 jump newbie to be on a completed world record, JFTC all Women 181 way. There are not a lot of people around that can ring that bell. I have heard it over and over again and it true. “Dress for Success” Sparky And she is tiny, hell I have jumped rigs bigger then her. Rob, The real reason USPA backed away from “Blast Handles” is it dawned on them they had no authority to ban anything much less a TSO’d item. While some blasé handles were “after market” the the majority were on rigs TSO’d with the Blast Handle. It wasn’t the first time USPA stepped on their dick and as we have seen recently it wasn’t there last. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

And I gave you my opinion. And my experience tells me night jumps in any form present greater potential for problems then landing in reasonable winds. A TI can use his experience and judgment to determine reasonable winds. Experience and judgment will not change the fact that a night jump is done in the dark. Glad to help you out on the solo/tandem thing. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Hi Jon, 'Remember back in the day at old Elsinore a bunch of us were watchin out the door of the DC-3 as Nick Lucas uncorked a flyer in the config. you describe!! quite a sight!! Freepakin' was "the thing" for a while till a couple of people got susp. lines 1/2-hitched around their main side flaps!!![/reply] After about 3 or 4 hundred free pack jumps I was one of the guys who had that happen. I played with it until about 1000 feet and fired a diapered reserve into it. Scared the crap out of me. It was a CruisAir. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Solo students are flying their own very lightly loaded canopy while a tandem student has and licensed TI flying a more heavily loaded canopy. I don’t always see eye to eye with USPA but seems reasonable. And no, higher winds, within reason, are not a dangerous as flying a tandem at night. Why are there more C licenses than B???
mjosparky replied to cctpud01's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
More people applied for C lic. than B's. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
They increase the danger to the passenger and take away most of the visual aspect of the jumps. But I guess for a Tandem mill that is not a big priority. Its get ‘um up get ‘um out and grab the next one. I would think that it wouldn’t take long for that to grow old. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
