Considering the consequences in the event of an accident, I think he's right to be asking questions, and cautious. I saw an accident last year where the tandem master came down with a pretty bloody nose from smashing his face into the back of the student on exit. I'm not sure what the back of the student's head looked like. I disagree. Again, considering the consequences of that one in a million chance, I think telling people is the right thing to do. I congratulate deadboy2004 for accepting his fate and having the courage to tell others. I wouldn't. But hey, there's still AFF, coaching, and fun jumps. Right? Interesting question. Part of me thinks that it's the number of defective units that are important, on the other hand, maybe we should consider number of jumps going on the theory that units become defective over time, or maybe it's time in the field that counts, but not number of jumps. It's probably not practical to use the Vigil as an example, but I wonder what the various numbers would be for the Cypres. I finally had the opportunity to put a few jumps on my new Infinity and I'll tell ya, I love it. This rig is bullet proof, there's nothing that's going to come out when it shouldn't. Carry on. Bring the TSA documentation and documentation from America West stating that it's OK to bring your gear abour the airplane. Think of what might happen if an over anxious screener in the checked baggage area gets ahold of your rig.
