  1. Actualy none. The person must be under the supervision of an apropriately rated rigger, or manufacturer! That's right, techicaly a manufacturer does not even need to have a rigging ticket. Imagine what it would cost to buy a container if everyone on the line had to have a rigging ticket. You think they're expsneive now? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 2. You see pissing matches, I see people passionate about their safety and the safety of others. Let the pissing continue, I say. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. Ron, have you asked for it? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  4. Change your order, let this manufacturer know that it is unacceptable to keep customers waiting half a year for a new rig! There are other rigs out there, Wings and Infinity both have significantly shorter wait times as well as a reduced price tag so you'll have more money for jumps. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 5. Plenty of people know what this post is about. A little research and you can too. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  9. You should ask Stacy about that, she's an expert in the ways of cow. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  10. Yes they absolutely are. The major difference, cows don't have cute fluffy tails, otherwise they're just meat. Yummy yummy meat. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  11. You'd be surprised how many jumpers bought gear thinking that they could "grow into it". You'd probably be more surprised if you knew how many of them no longer skydive because they were badly injured, or worse, killed. The problem with buying gear that you'll grow in to, is that you need to know how to fly it NOW, not 6 months or a year from now, NOW. Listen to your instructors, they have the expereience and the judgement to advise you in this matter. Buy whatever container floats your boat, they're all just fine these days. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  12. You do downwind jumpruns in Australia? With very few exceptions my home DZ does our jumpruns into the wind. A downwind jumprun would put jumpers out all over creation and back, assuming even as much as a few seconds in between groups. I don't think that this is a safe assumption. Winds at altitude are usually much different than the winds on the ground. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  13. This is a good question to ask your pilots, your S&TA, or the DZO. Any one of them should be able to explain to you why the exit order is what it is at Perris. In the mean time, check out this stuff from Professor John Kallend, http://www.iit.edu/~kallend/skydive/ - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  14. Pulling at 3K would not have solved the real problem, in this case, the lack of horizontal separation. It is up to the group in the plane to give sufficient separation to the group below. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  15. Think about this, please. The people below you got in your way? How do you think this happened? What could they have done to stay out of your way? What could they have done differently to ensure your safety? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  17. I don't think that it's silly at all. Is any of the performance lost because it's a newbie who may not be able to control it? I don't think so. Is a Ferrari any less of a performance car when driven by a 16 year old with a freshly minted license? I think it's important to call it what it is; you can kid yourself, if you like, but any additional speed at landing time makes it a high performance landing. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 18. What's popular in Germany these days? I'm curious. The new Wings containers have the cut in laterals as an option now. "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. Unfortunately, concerns like this one aren't made up; Beverly wasn't sitting around one day thinking "what's the worst that could possibly happen?". Concerns like Beverly's are here because things have happened in the past. People have engaged in exactly the conduct that Beverly wishes to prevent, it's sad, but it's happened. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  20. Get rid of purposely and I'll agree with you. The added speed does not need to be intentional for a high performance landing. Just my $0.02 USD. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  21. The only way you're going to decrease pack volume is to decrease the amount of material in the parachute. Not such a great idea on reserves, I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  22. To you it means that you'll be going faster, both horizontally and vertically, than someone lighter under the same canopy. Don't worry too much about it, your dropzone will take good care of you. "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  24. Pretty much, yes. It's essentially a PRO pack, others have suggested that it might be more appropriately named Psycho Bagging. Check out the following links for more on the Psycho pack.
