  8. I have the AD&D policy offered through USPA. Even though I don't have kids, it makes me feel better knowing that my family doesn't have to worry about the financial part of it when and if it comes to to 'cashing it in'. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. I agree. I saw someone with an TRV22 side-mounted on an Optik this weekend. I wish I couldn't talked with him to find out WHY. It looked just -too- big and bulky way out there on the left side of his head. The Optik has a nice flat surface on the top. Why would someone want to side-mount a TRV model? The box is WAY wide (compared to the PC models). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. I think they call that the "Sonny Bono Syndrome". ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. A quote stating, "You're not a real skydiver unless you land in a tree". Guess some of us miss out, living in the land of the desert, huh? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  15. Which tunnel camp are you attending? FL or CA? If you're coming to Perris I can take a look and help you out. Have you had x-rays and/or MRI done yet? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  17. Please read this page, then reconsider. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. Yeah, I flipped on the tv just in time to catch the whole scenario as I gulped down breakfast this morning. God, it looked like nice weather down in FL today. After a few jumps this morning at Perris, it sucked donkeys in the thunder/rain! Anyone got a boat we can use tomorrow? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. Nope. But I have been getting letters from the AARP and Medicare these days! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. The submitted text now in front of the Senate reads: "(c) Subsection (a) does not permit prosecution-- `(1) for conduct relating to an abortion for which the consent of the pregnant woman has been obtained or for which such consent is implied by law in a medical emergency;" Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. A quote from that COBRA site above (page 2 on the site): "What happens when my COBRA insurance runs out? If you qualify, you're protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In a nutshell, HIPAA mandates that insurance companies normally offering individual health care plans can't deny you coverage or impose waiting periods for preexisting conditions, if you've been covered by COBRA (or other) insurance within the required timeframe." ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. FAQ about COBRA Not sure about a school district, but when I left a job a few years ago, I signed up under COBRA insurance for a short time. My concern as well was pre-existing condition coverage. I found that the insurance my former employer had was -also- available in individual form as well...and it continued with coverage of pre-exisiting needs. It was Blue Cross. Perhaps you could research into this as well, lewmonst. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  23. This is spooky. Years ago we had this exact same conversation at work. At that time my work consisted of providing physical therapy at a convalescent center (nursing home). There were those who walked around (alzheimers) who were interesting folks to study but couldn't intellect. Their responses were automatic...like a child. Then there were those trapped in a functionless body who's minds could count the adventures they'd been on during WWII and the like. Sharp folk. Hard choice. Our staff was divided about 50:50 on which one we would prefer to end up like. Some just -knew- that their craziness now would convert to funny insanity later. Others picked the broken body routine. Hard to say... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  24. I was, too, until I read this article. Looks like it was a Pennsylvania death prosecuted in a New Jersey court room. At least that is what this article infers. Also, this is very interesting and perhaps why a new ruling was implemented. Look who was the deceased: "Justice Jose L. Fuentes, writing for the three-judge panel, in the case of the late Assistant Essex County Prosecutor Eugene J. Pietroluongo, 44, of Orange, who died in a scuba diving accident in Pennsylvania in 2001, ruled that Pietroluongo's 13-year-old daughter had the right to sue the Regency Diving Center in Millburn." ltdiver edited to include the news article, as it seems that the first one in no longer on-line...and didn't want this one to go "POOF", too..
