  1. Thanks! That's the kind of info I was after. I didn't want to just throw it away. At least the monitor, keyboard and mouse will be used...and if the computer is too slow (it's a Pentium I), they can use the componants. Looks like a donation is in order... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. That's be a sight! Or rather a very loud sound. Who the heck would they get to moderate it? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. So, I've got my first 2GB pc in the closet. I'm doing spring cleaning (somewhere to store my skydiving gear so it's not all over the house)... Where do old (still usable) computers go? I'd donate it, but not sure where they could still use a computer that's 6 years old. Any suggestions (that work)? Where have -you- sent your old pc's to? 4. Not convinced I need the optics anyway. What, with no 'stereo-vision' to correct for and all. Lori Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. Nope, don't "see" it anymore myself either. It's like it becomes part of your routine....like at pull-time you just -know- where the hackey is by muscle memory. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. Waiting for the punch line..... What are the stats for the past 4 years?? Why have they left this little fact out? LTDIVER Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. More to add. :^) Will get to the be-all-that-end-all photos tomorrow. Off to sleep for now... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  8. So, I've been trying to catch up on sleep from a 4 day 4-way and boogie weekend. Haven't had the time or energy to post pictures until tonight. Here's the start of what I got at the boogie. :^) LTDIVER Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. Early mornings....late nights....and just how crazy the intellectual greenies can actually get! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. If the stories are indeed true (for Harley), then both these men left a cold, calculated, planned hole in their friend's hearts...forever. I can imagine the pain they were in. However, it was dear friends who's love and connection that pulled me through. I feel for their friends and family....those who loved them intensely and purely. Their pain is just beginning. Especially the unsuspecting cameraflyer. Geeze! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. The cameraflyer stated, "It's all in there". Damn! This leaves me shaking... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. Don't all your Level I student's exits look that pristine? LTDIVER Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. Yes, this can and has happened at both U.S. and World Events. It does include a bit more gear to wear, but it's not that big a deal. Unfortunately, the feed wasn't always consistent and when it failed they went back to the 'old' way of doing it....dubbing it for viewing after landing. I believe the abandonment of the live feed for all Open teams came from the hassle of set-up and use...plus it not being consistent at -all- times. 14. So, what's the dbox closing like on the Hard-deck model's dbox? The picture doesn't give a look at the back of the helmet. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  15. What springs to mind is the scene from 'Cutaway' where the wuffo reporters excitedly explain the Speed Star competition. Yeah, that's it! In Finland, during the World Games, we had pamphlets which explained what skydiving was...what 4-way was, and what they were seeing on the LIVE screen. TV did alot of broadcasts on our sport, yet the IOC didn't pick it up for the Olympics. Not enough spectator interest. They just don't get it. Now, swooping on the other hand....when Airspeed swooped the pond in the infield....THAT brought alot of reaction from the crowd! Skydiver and wuffo alike! (they competed at a horse racing track and took of in a Russian Mi8 helicopter from the infield and landed there too). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  16. Ask him, also, what he's going to do about this snag point on his dbox. Pictured HERE also. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. Just an idea here.... A skydiver where I jump had a canopy re-lined (not sure of the type of canopy)....when it came back to him it behaved VERY badly. He had a rigger measure the lines and found out that his 135 canopy had 120 lines on it! He sent it back and got a new re-line for free. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. And what would the instructor do with said 'bear' once he bought him?
  19. Interesting. Glad Australia is taking care of it's own...meaning, it's nice to get things in your own country and not have to worry about shipping/customer service hassles from abroad. However, on the camera helmet side...Not too keen on the latch mechanism pictured here. Looks like a wonderful snag point. Not sure if the pictures tell all, but I'd like a chin cup on a camera helmet for stability as well...these pictures don't show their camera helmet includes one. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. Hey! I know it was dark at the pool, but I was the quiet one who introduced you to billvon and quade at the BBQ! Guess my time with my 4-way team, Exceed, kept me too busy during the daylight hours to do much mixing then. Sorry. It was a glorious weekend, though! I'm watching the video of the 26 jumps we did this weekend and loving every minute of it.
  21. It's also been done with a Godfrog! Read and scroll down to "The Godfrog Mass Jump, 1972". Stories and adventures by Pat Works.
  22. Me too! If you guys would settle down and do this at sunset (better light for pictures then anyway) then maybe us 4-way training folks could join you! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  23. Don't forget flexibility, too. I've known body builders who have pulled muscles simply because they didn't maintain the ability to stretch. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
