Not by any means! It's the fault of the Department of Homeland Security for being complicitous in this. The FAA simply administers the policy. So, clarify something for us. Who has power over who? I thought the buck stopped with the FAA. No? Oh, and could you find a web site about this master/slave relationship between the two so I can bookmark it? Thanks. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

So, now you're implying that the FAA has been duped? Shame on them! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Go ahead and move it to Speakers. We'd all like to hear what you have to say there. The source for the information I posted was an inside employee at the "Mouse House" and was extremely busy after 9/11, saying with authority that the Disney properties were -indeed- high risk locations in which terrorists were plotting to set something off. A populace who would be there at any given day...plus high profile in the capitalist market system made it a prime target. It indeed would make alot of impact, my source said. He was extremely scared that something was imminent to happen. So, now it's being said that what was implied is not true? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Read: HERE. "...ALL AIRCRAFT AND PARACHUTE OPERATIONS ARE PROHIBITED AT AND BELOW 3,000 FEET AGL WITHIN A THREE NAUTICAL MILE RADIUS ..." This restriction includes the entry of parachutes into this restricted area, not just the flight of an aircraft. They have extended the basically unwaiverable restriction over Disneyland because of it's high risk as a potential terrorist target. And NOTAM specifically for Anaheim's Disneyland. Click the "NOTAM Text" button. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Remember Katie Couric and her husband, Jay Monahan? For myself it was their story that brought this illness to the forefront of America's mind. Speaking up -now- can help prevent another person from going through the pain and agony of this disease. Thanks, Jeffrey, for speaking out. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Yeah, you Canadian....it's not a holiday with your name on it...get back to work... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yes. When wuffos come up to me and exclaim that they saw this 'stunt' on tv the night before I toy with the idea of bursting their bubble with the facts...or not. Depends on my mood at the time. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yeah, that's what delayed the Perris tunnel in 2003. Good luck, and yes please keep us informed!
-
Some teams (who book the tunnel by themselves--not shared with another team) are cool enough to invite their cameraflyer (without camera helmet of course) to fill 30 seconds of 'break time' between their 2 minute flight-time rounds.

Dang, arlo! I just looked at the SkyVenture wish list and was amazed at the number of locations that want to buy into the adventure! A couple of questions. 1) What percentage of these listed are 100% in their building likelihood? 2) In the "Amusement Park" settings, will it be difficult to pound home the importance of safety? You know, in a skydiving setting, with skydivers running the show the safety and survival factor is already in the forefront of their minds. Will it be the same way with wuffo's running the show? It was quite impressive watching the new instructors being trained at Perris this past week. The shit they have thrown at them in preparation for the inevitable 'scoop and save' was scary! Hats off to you instructors! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I'd been a long while since clicking on SkyVenture's web page and was amazed at how lengthy the list of potential sites was now! I had heard they had scrapped the NJ wind tunnel. Didn't know they had secured one for PA though! http://skyventure.com/tunnellocations/default.aspx

I believe that we should study all religions, and thus be more informed on the diversity this world is comprised of. Ignorance breeds nothing but intolerance. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Have a G4 tower and now a G4 PB. LOVE the PB and it's power. Wonder how I ever survived with out it at the DZ, being a cameraflyer and all. All my skydiving work is done on the PB's 80GB HD (upgraded it when it was custom ordered). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

1) Can anyone really ever 'fix' Buckeye? 2) Do the locals -want- it 'fixed'? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yeah. That's where I found 42.0 miles. I called it MapQuest. My bad. Just saw that note when I rechecked. Interesting. I knew there were alot of wonderful curvey roads between here and there, but didn't know it added 100% to the distance! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Jeff, Sorry you have to go through this! Glad to see you're taking a pro-active approach, though. You're a good example. Question, however. Since they now the non-invasitve procedure available (body scan) why is it important to go through all the torment and torture this procedure has with it? Why not go with the scan? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Just think of it in this light... We all know that Michael Eisner will be leaving Disney in 2 years. So, it'll be no surprise when he turns in his key. However, I bet you know quite a few people who will stand up and dance (yourself included) the day that Eisner shuts the door and walks off the property for the final time.

Looks like a nice weekend....however just wait until the winter storm that passed through CA this weekend to get there! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Ah, then I'll have to go with the new '05 GT!
-
have you told him you want him along, and why? Well then, if he goes along he just might figure out just how much skydiving -really- costs! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Just FYI to those who use the listed distance to DZ (from your house, etc) and then check with MapQuest. I entered my home location then clicked the MapQuest distance to Perris. MapQuest = 42.0 miles Listed Distance on the Location Finder = 20.59 miles Guess one is how the crow flies.
