  1. After some longgg thought, I wrote this myself; I want it to be read at my memorial service (which is hopefully a longg ways off!!!!) LET THIS END WHERE IT BEGAN..... Let this end where it began, Where I faced my fears and said "I can!" Where cares were few, where laughter flowed, Where no one told me "You’re too old..." Let this end where I felt free, Where I could come and simply ‘be’... Where I learned to jump and learned to fly, And found a passion for the sky. This place was home; here I felt whole - You saw my heart, you touched my soul... You all became my family, I loved how you watched out for me! So now it ends where it began, One Alpha Mike is up again Into the sunset’s magic light The Caravan climbs for my last flight. Big way at dusk - my ashes cast... Part of this place, I’m home at last. My heart finds peace, my soul flies free Blue skies, light winds - eternally..... Back on the ground the beer light’s on; The ‘Hut’ is stocked, go have some fun! Please raise a toast; toss back those beers, Please party on, please shed no tears.... "cc"

  5. Hey dutchboy Thanks for coming. Hope you had fun and we hope to see you again. As Noelle said, Tommy (our manifester) is the man for the spirits. A nice collection there. You should come back just for that. (and to jump in more clouds :o) Blue Skies. Paddy.
  6. Hi Speedracer I'm from Ireland and a newbie jumper so hopefully I can help with your questions :) We do bring beer back to the dz but more often in the summer months when we get the bonfire going and have a session around it. At this time of year or in the middle of the winter its a lot more convenient to go to the local pub and drink in the warm. We do have a new club house which we are using in the evenings for parties sometimes but the pub usually plays a part anyway. Re the First Time= beer rule, it doesnt work the same in Ireland. When a student goes for their first freefall, we use static line progression normally, they get a bottle of some type of spirit, the more unusual the better, cover it all over with white paper and wander around the dz after VFR, getting all the other jumpers there to sign the bottle and take a swig from the neck. Your first freefall bottle is a hell of a souvenir to have, everyone welcomes you to the sky, uses their favourite quotes and gets hammered on the liquor. Im not certain what the procedure is in Britain to be honest. We dont have a bar as such on our dz and I dont think the other dz's do either, but we do have Tommy from Manifest who has this great habit after the manifest closes, of producing bottles from nowhere and sharing with everyone ! Have a look at www.skydive.ie, we are one of the worlds longest established parachuting clubs and we try to have fun. All visitors welcome at all times! Noelle

  9. Well, after all the bitching I’ve done about the piss poor weather we’ve had in MN, I just wanted to say that FINALLY we’ve had nothing but dry sunny skies for once, and it looks like it’ll stay that way for the foreseeable future. They way I see it is that I’ve been whining about not jumping cause the weather sucks and I’m broke, so at least now I’m half there

    Like a Rock

Well I have the same problem, (215# 6% bodyfat). The suit that worked for me was from Tads sportsware. The quality is far better than Bev or Tony suits!!! Their freefly suit is baggy and slow. I had chute assist wings added by Tads, with tie dye colors and shipping it cost about $170.00.

  13. All right FFF, now you've done it. You had better watch your p's and q's on every post you make now! Who made you the grammar police anyway? Big meanie, pickin' on a girl... Besides, you'll just have to overlook my mistakes, because like a lot of people, I'm trying to get most of my posts in before my boss comes back into the room, and realizes that I'm not doing any work!

  17. I know the kids that you've heard about and have personally jumped with them. They rock and the're family has grown up around skydiving. They're older now, when I jumped with them one was 14-15 the other around 16. They are extremly experienced and could teach plenty about how the sport can be safe within the right environment. You proubly won't get their names, it's still a bit contriversal, I won't give there names either but their dad is quite famous in the sport. There's nothing wrong with waiting though. There is no hury, the sport will just be safer when they are old enough to jump. In the meantime take some trips to a wind tunnel. No age limit.

  20. Boom. I'm not a programmer, but I can read code and have experience with object oriented anaylsis and design. I've worked on projects that have managed programmers and laid out requirements for them. Consulting stuff. Sounds like you've got a great work-jump balance at your company! Trent

    Bigways

The World record is currently 282 and I believe it was done in Thailand in 1999. Skydive Chicago attempted a 300 way last year but was unsuccesful
  22. I just did jump 13 which was my first jump since my mal three months ago. I had to wait so long because I injured my knee landing under a round! The jump was unreal, only a paper pull. To top it off it was a stand up landing! Yeah! Peter W

    "Ball Master"

I was listening to some some freeflyer's talk the other day. They mentioned they wanted to find a "ball master" so they could get some ball jumping going. I assume a "ball master" is a person, but wasn't sure what they were talking about. Didn't get a chance to ask them before they ran off somewhere. So, what the heck is a "ball master"?
  24. I could have swore that I have seen some in a liq. store here. Perhaps it wasnt exactly the same. It was sold with some sort of special spoon.
  25. Hi Sangiro In November 1999 I often visited your Sangiro's synergy site hosted at Geocities. You had these wonderful enhancements and buttons. There were full descriptions on how to manufacture your own. I've tried to gain access to this information again but cannot find it. Are these pages deleted or are they hosted elsewhere? Are you not giving this information away any longer? At the least, I suggest you update or delete the site at "www.geocities.com/Yosemite/4422/main.html" Blue skies Erik
