  1. Ok, I know a lot of you have wanted to see some 1st person video of hook swooping. Since I was playing with my new video editing software I thought I'd throw one together for you all to see. I'm still learning how this software works so bare with me, and if you don't like it......Call someone who cares. It's 1.8 megs www.jumpergirl.com/hangerswoop.mpg Fly it like you stole it!
  2. try clorox wipes to clean your keys off. I use it all the time here at home and at work and it works like a champ. Plus everything smells good afterwards. Fly it like you stole it!
  3. ahhh....yes the word direct. If you do a search of this site there has been plenty of discussions about this. I even know of one DPRE who considered directly supervising a reserve packjob to include him being on a plane while the rig was being packed. *shrug* Fly it like you stole it!
  4. welcome to my world, I've been working saturdays for the last 9 months. As a bonus for the last month I've had to work noon-10, so i don't even get to go out and play on saturday nights. it's no wonder my jump numbers are basically non-existant. Fly it like you stole it!
  5. Strait from Mirages mouth. In a tub (not a washing machine) wash the rig in cold water with woolite. Rince several times to get all the soap out. Fly it like you stole it!
  6. Or someone under the supervision of a rigger. Fly it like you stole it!
  7. Sweet...now I just need to get a bigger tent. Fly it like you stole it!
  8. Hey someone can have fox too.....she gets a jealous when I snuggle with other puppies. Fly it like you stole it!
  9. Ok, I'm calling dibs on the puppy right now....The puppy is my snuggle buddy for the boogie. Fly it like you stole it!
  10. Hooknswoop actually has one in his spare rig. It's size is a 176 and it's pack volume is a little higher than most due to the line attachment points attach to a flare rather than the bottom skin itself, this allows the opening shock to be distirbuted over a 4 inch area rather than a 1 inch area. One of the different things about it and all GlidePath canopies is that there are no stabilizers, but this doesn't seem to be an issue with it's flight characteristics. GlidePath is now known as Flight Concepts, and here are the stats on there new firelite reserves. On there web page in the side shot you can see the flared attachment points. Model Area Weight Est Pack Vol. Max. Suspended Wt. Firelite 175 5.7 380 190 LBS. All in all it's a very good reserve. Per para-gear this is retail for a new one $1077.00 Fly it like you stole it!
  11. That is the best way to do it, call/email around and get quotes. If you are comfortable going to the manufacturer yourself, and service after the sale isn't that important, then go with the best deal. (A lot of the time the best deal does come with the best service) It's best though to know exactly what you want when you do order though, if you are a new jumping talk to your rigger and instructors about gear and take notes. Know ahead of time if you want stainless, hip rings, or even reserve slinks. There are dealers out there who will try to sell you things you don't want or need. So be prepared to say no, they should have no problem if you say "I'll need to get back to you on that". Rigs are a very big investment, make sure you get exactly what you want. 12. Well I'll point it out to Derek, it definately does say light duty oil or dry silicon. Here is a direct quote from Mr. Booth So I guess certain oils are ok, although we won't use anything except ACE pure silicon lubricant. Here where it is really dusty, the difference is amazing. Cables are still clean after 120 days, and you know the owners never cleaned them. Heck they usually get this blank look when you tell them they need to flex the 3 rings every month. 13. hey darlin, which parachutist? Fly it like you stole it!
  14. Well it was great seeing Bill and Amy again, took them to one of my favorite restaurants. While we were there Skybytch called cause she was also in town. She was going to take a shower and then meet us, but I think she drowned cause she never called back. Fly it like you stole it!
  15. be sure to find out if it is a G2 or G3, if it is a G2 it has velcro riser covers, so you need to find out if the velcro is in good shape or needs to be replaced. Fly it like you stole it!
  16. Speak of the Devil and he shall appear......Turned for my downwind at about 900 feet and noticed my Digi reading 1600......time for a new battery. Fly it like you stole it!
  17. I turn mine on after I get on the plane but while we are still on the ground and leave it on for the whole ride up. I only adjust it at the beginning of the day or if it's way off when I turn it on for the jump. I turn it off as soon as I land. Batteries tend to last a year (I've only replaced them 3 times) unless I do something stupid like forget to turn it off after a jump and it stays on for several hours, or well the whole week. I've actually never noticed it flash a number when I turn it off, but then I've never paid that much attention. I've also noticed that it starts to give off readings before the battery light comes on, replacing the battery fixes that. By off readings I mean it says 4.5 when it's really 5.5 and all your friends are looking at you odd cause you left early. Fly it like you stole it!

  22. 2 years ago we couldn't get more than 1 person to do a lingerie jump who wasn't from our goup. So good luck on the naked jump. I live in CO now, and all those girls were from TX (and MN), so I have no idea who if anyone is going to couch this year. Heck I'm still waiting for my vacation to be approved and it isn't looking good. Fly it like you stole it!
