I was just teasing her. Although if you are a gear whore it can get quite pricey, heck I've lost so much weight since I started doing it I had to get a new harness, cuase mine doesn't really fit anymore. You can get your basic gym gear for under $200 if you look for sales. The other toys of course cost more, plus the gym membership if you aren't able to go outside much. I've spent about $1000 this year on gear and 2 6 month gym memberships (which only took 1 month of going to be worth the price). Fly it like you stole it!

$12 for your 1st shoe rental, the other half of you paycheck for the rest of your life Fly it like you stole it!

Stupid mapquest didn't make it look that far (objects in mirror are closer than they appear). Well it's almost 2 months away, plenty of time to figure things out exactly. I just picked that one cause it didn't seem that far, and it held lots of options. Nothing is written in stone, and I'm flexible.

Well the annual phoenix bouldering competition is in the area, so I'm sure we can find something. I'll be sure to grab bouldering info for the area when we get the sport climbing info. V4-V6....my hero....I'm lucky if I can do a V0 Fly it like you stole it!

1) Queen Creek Canyon But I'm waiting to hear from a local who might know if there is something closer (it's about 30min-1hr away). I do know there are several walls there, and a good mix of route grades. 2) I don't have one either, so all I can offer is top roping, if someone wants to boulder they will have to do it at thier own risk, someone else may have one though and be able to bring it. hey just thought I'd bump this up since we have a lot of new folks, who can join us in saving the world. Fly it like you stole it!

Skymama, Dressing is simple, wear a pair of pants that are comfortable enough to bring your knee to your chest, Sports bra, and layer shirts, something like a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. Newbies, PM me if you need a harness and/or shoes. Experienced, PM me if you are bringing anything extra, such as extra harnesses, shoes, ropes, whatever. I'm hoping at most we will have to rent a few pairs of shoes. Fly it like you stole it!

OK here is the deal, this is suppose to be fun, and a break from jumping hard. I will be planning routes that beginners can do, which means nothing above a 5.8, and depending on the group that might be pushing it. Climbing outside can be intimidating for those who have never done, and I want to provide as stress free as possible envirnment which includes less technical climbs and top roping. Israel, now quit scaring people with the 5.9-5.13 stuff. Fly it like you stole it!

I've jumped a crossfire1 and crossfire2 @ 1.2, a Stilleto at 1.3, and a Cobalt @ 1.1. No issues with any of them. Currently at 1.2-1.3 (depends on lead) a Crossfire1. Fly it like you stole it!

Yep I was planning on climbs that could be toproped, but someone has to lead it and set the anchor and since I don't have pros I have to find places with bolts. I'm thinking Queen's Creek Canyon in Superior ~30 min or so north of Eloy. I'm planning and stopping at REI in phoenix to get a book on the routes. I'm thinking easier routes since this will be the 1st time for some people, which is why I choose that canyon, it seems to have a lot of stuff. I looked at the calendar and the 29th might be a good day to do it, since it's a couple of days into the boogie and it's on a Monday, so after jumping hard all weekend it might be a nice day to take off and do something else. hehe....as Derek always says "What can possibly go wrong" I hope you come to Eloy, I miss hanging out with you around the bonfire, especially when we can tag team some drunk ass guy who thinks loose rubber bands cause bagdump. Fly it like you stole it!

Don't ever think that, climbing outside is for having fun and being with friends. Now when I climb in the gym it's a different story, I'm there for getting a workout, and pushing my limits. SkyPsycho, you don't have to come with, I'm just offering for others to join us when we take a day off from jumping to do one of our other hobbies. Fly it like you stole it!

Ok, so who would be up for taking a day off during the week to try out some rockclimbing? There are a bunch of us on here who already climb, and if you have never done it but want to try, I know something can be worked out gear wise. I'm sure I can find someplace that will rent stuff also if needed. We don't have gear for Trad climbing, but we have everything that would be needed for sport climbing, so for those of you flying you wouldn't need to bring more than your harness and chalkbag. Anyway, we are probably going to take a day off from jumping, to go climb and would love others to come with. Fly it like you stole it!

Don't worry Michele, if you never needed to light a pilot light how are you suppose to know. I lived in ND for 20 years and never had to turn one off since even in the Summer there were times you needed heat. It wasn't until I moved to TX that I had to learn how to turn it off and on, although I never got over my fear of blowing the furnace up when I had to light the damn thing. Fly it like you stole it!

nooo...he can't end up flat broke, he is suppose to come to CO to go snowboarding with me this winter. Fly it like you stole it!

Nope, think of that point when it starts melting, but is still thick and it takes awhile for your spoon to sink to the bottom of the bowl.....that's what warm ice cream opens like. Fly it like you stole it!

I need to trade mark that. Fly it like you stole it!

No it doesn't. We went snowboarding today, gotta love living where the resorts are the 1st in the country to open. Fly it like you stole it!

Spectra is cheap also, if your kill line has shrank, have it replaced rather than just marking a new spot on the line. That eventually will cause a pilot chute in tow also. Fly it like you stole it!

I'm from Jamestown, so I know about the snow 9 months out of the year. I made the best of it though, I don't think there was anything other than the 20+ below days that I couldn't get out and do something. Of course I did move to Texas after college, needed to live in the land of the never ending summer for awhile. Now I'm in CO and can't wait till Sunday......SNOWBOARDING SEASON STARTS!!!!!!! I've been at work all day, chasing alarms in the San Diego area. The worst part is, we don't actually know where the fire is, so we have to guess if we are loosing the optical repeter sites or not. We sure as heck are not sending anyone into the area to check (the new girl wanted too though). At our manned site the emergency fire door alarm went off and everyone held thier breath till security could find out if it was a false alarm or not. Luckly it was. I definately feel for everyone down there, I watched our usage graphs for the market go lower and lower all day, and knowing the reason was depressing. Fly it like you stole it!

I work Saturday and Sunday this week....*shrug* oh well Fly it like you stole it!

What pretty much everyone else said, but instead of peanuts I prefer soy nuts due to the protein, so you don't get so run down without meat. Plus they taste like sunflower seeds only bigger.

OK, now take a deep breath....now how about another one. Count to 10 well maybe 20. I never said they were backwards here, just that there aren't alot of fun jumpers on Sundays and lately the Saturdays that I've snuck out were pretty much students only. The student business on the other hand is kicking butt for pretty much all the DZs. I just have certain goals when it comes to skydiving and they can't be met here. Then to top it off the only day I can jump is Sunday, which you have to admit is the slower of the 2 weekend days. But hey, I haven't been around, I don't really know how it is. Silly me. btw...I was going to explain to Scott that this is a 3 turbine DZ state, but you proved my point of the attitudes I seem to get at the DZs I go to around here. Fly it like you stole it!
