Where'd you get that swank blue Monkey fist? We can only get gross colors, other than red, black and purple. I can't seem to get monkeys to match blue rigs. Well how else do you find swank colors......(my favorite pasttime) SHOPPING!!! I make monkeyfists so basically I just scrounged different stores till I found rope that matched my rig and made myself one. Hook made the pilot chute so the ZP was the right color ZP to match my canopy. Yes I'm a girl and damn-it I want all my shit to match. Fly it like you stole it!

As a smaller jumper I know that we tend to have to wear weights to be able to fall with their heavier counterparts. So most the time (hopefully) this is considered when getting the 1st canopy. On the other hand I've seen smaller girls jump their new smaller canopy a few times when they 1st get it without lead to get a feel for the responsiveness before adding in the additional speed. (experienced jumpers) The biggest problem when it comes to the 1st canopy for smaller jumpers is the fact that they have been jumping VERY large mains on students status that are very sluggish and slow, so the instructor doesn't pay as much attention to their canopy control skills as they would to a heavier jumper jumping the same canopy. What ends up happening is the lighter jumper with poor canopy skills never learns the correct skills since the instructor isn't worried about them getting hurt. This is where the problems come in. Now the smaller jumper is encouraged to downsize in huge jumps to get them to the same WL as the larger jumper, this is usually after they are off student status with no additional instruction, which is where they get into trouble because as a student they had poor canopy skills that were never corrected and now they are on a more responsive canopy than their heavier counterpart and can't land it because as a student they never really learned how. And the stereotype of "Women can't land" continues. It hasn't been until recently that several DZs have addressed this issue and started having gear on hand that A) fits the jumper better and B) is responsive enough to learn how to fly a canopy. So now lighter jumps have the ability just like their heavier counterparts to downsize while still on student status under the watchful eyes of their instructor. Problems are now addressed during jump 10 rather than jump 100, and better light weight canopy pilots are created. Fly it like you stole it!

You know what.....from everything you have posted lately, maybe you should just take a breather from the forums for awhile and let things cool down. Cause there are a lot of people here who are not excusing your behavior, personal attacks in an apology thread, unexcusable. Fly it like you stole it!

Honestly it sounds like he just wanted you to buy one of his hackeys rather than a monkey fist which wouldn't have put money in his pocket. While I have seen 1 monkey fist made with a super ball inside that was quite heavy, every other one I've seen has been made with those yellow foam practice golf balls, which make them weight about the same as a hacky. If he was really worried about a monkey fist working loose while freeflying he should have steared you towards those freefly handles like wings and mirage make. Fly it like you stole it!

Plus it is less slippery because of its texture. Question: why are monkey fists smaller that hackeys??? It's the material inside the monkey fist which determines the size. On hakey's is how big the leather is cut/sewn. Fly it like you stole it!

That makes a huge difference. Most people are use to students jumping nothing smaller than a 200 threw thier student progression. While I know of 2 DZs that put smaller students out on sabre 150s on thier later levels. (16 level programs) So knowing the above and as a smaller jumper 105 w/o gear, I'd have recommended staying with the 135, just cause it could get you out of trouble while you were still learning. On the other hand only your instructors know what is right for you, but I highly recommend a canopy course no matter what canopy you get, and since you are in FL that should be fairly easy to do. I've been working weekends for the last year and a half....which is the biggest reason my jump numbers went from 200 jumps a year to 50. Fly it like you stole it!

And since I can't afford that, he is getting a mommy cut, which leaves for much more interesting pictures. BTW....my apt is cold, any colder and I'd have to wear a sweater. I lucked out, he's not one of the super flat faced kind, so he doesn't seem to have all those issues likes TequilaGirl's does. She has to put crap in their eyes and stuff. No he just has freak cat behavioral issues...oh and he hates Derek. Have you ever seen a cat and a man try to one up eachother, not pretty.
