  1. probably... that is, if the chopper is there. if its there, then so will I. MB 3528, RB 1182
  2. yeah my friends and I figured out like a month ago that its just an endless loop. for even more "annoying your coworkers fun", just right click on it, have it rewind, then tell it to play again. This can be repeated for even more fun. MB 3528, RB 1182
  3. I use yahoo.com. I just do it for the little top news stories on the side. But I do have dz.com as my first "favorite"
  4. Our S/L instructors have always been on their knees facing the student, with the student's back against the dashboard. The JM can spot good, can help student out the door, and can watch them let go and deploy. Just a guess, but from reading the others posts, it sounds like maybe just the IAD instructors sit with their backs to the dashboard. MB 3528, RB 1182
  5. ????? You can still do hop n pops if you learned via S/L. MB 3528, RB 1182
  6. yeah but I hear the problem with the helocopter is the noise and prop wash kinda distract from the entire true still air thing. Still I want to try both. MB 3528, RB 1182
  7. when the pilot and another jumper started an informal "who has the worst smelling farts contest". I rode up the entire way with my face in my helmet. MB 3528, RB 1182
  8. I jumped 4 times today- including a really nice cross-country. (oh no, it looks like I'm really rubbing it in for you guys ) MB 3528, RB 1182
  9. 100% first time. I don't know, but I found it kinda easy. Figures that I can ace that kind of test, but fail so many others MB 3528, RB 1182
  10. ehhh most of my time-keeping devices do it normally. MB 3528, RB 1182
  11. I'm just gonna assume its not their real ad, but a quick photoshop job. MB 3528, RB 1182
  12. if you want to learn cheaply, go S/L. Its usually less than half the cost as AFF. Not as much fun at first, but once you hit ~15 jumps its all the same. MB 3528, RB 1182
  13. This doesn't sound like you. I don't believe you. Post the proof!!! MB 3528, RB 1182
  14. not officially. but we are just a cessna DZ, so we would notice if 1/4 the load didn't land. MB 3528, RB 1182
  15. 60 ain't cold! you know its cold when you start thanking people who fart in the plane for heating up the air. MB 3528, RB 1182
  16. If you are on a budget, and you plan on making skydiving a lifetime sport, go S/L. Its much cheaper, but still safe. If you have a little cash saved up, or if you just wanna do 1 or 2 jumps, go AFF. You get more freefall on your first jumps. MB 3528, RB 1182
  17. When someone else is spotting, and they look out the door, and say "ohhhhhh sh*t!" nothing like that to get me out the door fast. MB 3528, RB 1182
  18. hahahha I never thought about it that way but now I will. Every gay man in America improves my chances with the women! seriously, I think the gay rights groups would get a lot more hetrosexual supporters if they said this. MB 3528, RB 1182
  19. whew! a much better ending then I feared. That sucks he lost his car, but he got to keep his life MB 3528, RB 1182
  20. dude are those practical jokes, or things you do to someone you hate? as for a good pratical joke, if he eats any kind of snack at work, you can have great fun with those. If its creme-filled in any way, (like oreos, twinkies, etc) replace the creme with toothpaste. I used to do that all the time. You mentioned his locker? What you can do is get some dry ice from the supermarket, and put a new can of shaving cream in with the dry ice. (shake up the can really good right before you put it in). Once the can is frozen, quickly hacksaw the end off, and you should be able to pull out a solid cylander of shaving cream. Put it in a ziploc bag, and keep it in the dry ice untill you are ready to use it. Then you pick open his locker, and take the shaving cream outta the bag, and just set it in there. In a few hours, the shaving cream melts and expands to fill his entire locker... so when he opens it, it just spills onto the floor. He'll have no idea how you got his locker so full of it. 21. I would go low profile silver handle. Its your last chance... it would really suck if you were wearing gloves, and you tried to deploy your shirt at 500 feet or something. Unlikely? yeah, but I'd just personally feel safer with a metal reserve handle. But it does have its cons. MB 3528, RB 1182
  22. This is how I think it goes: To make a jump totally legally into a non-DZ, you need your D and a PRO rating, and you have to get permission for where you are landing. You also have to file a NOTAM and the pilot has to radio in what he's doing. I believe that if the USPA found out what you did and had proof (like a police report) they can bar you from membership and licenses from them... which sometimes you need. As for your pilot friend, I think that if they caught him, the FAA could tear up his license and not allow him to get another. And I think the cops could give you a fine for public endangerment or some bs. That all being said... the chances of you getting caught would be pretty slim. If a cop catches you landing, you could probably tell him that you have permission from the landowner, Mr. Smith, and you filed all the necessary paperwork the other day. Tell him to call up the FAA right now if he doesn't believe you , since I don't think a normal cop would call your bluff. MB 3528, RB 1182
  23. 26% gay. yeah and that intial 100% chart scared me pretty bad (and my roommate who watched me take the test... you shoulda seen his eyes get wide ) MB 3528, RB 1182
  24. He's correct here. If you think about it, when you are doing 4-way, are you paying attention to where the line of flight is in relation to your 4-way group, which is probably rotating at least a little? MB 3528, RB 1182
  25. actually, I thought it was the same way too. but to answer the first question... I have 120 jumps and I still haven't gotten my B yet. Its that damn water training!!! I was just planning on going straight to C, but now with the new requirements, I'll probably get my B sometime. MB 3528, RB 1182
