that is sort of true. there are people on dz.com who find it necessary to bring out the "I've seen people killed in this sport, have you??? No? Well then your opinion is unimportant and you don't know what you are talking about." that being said, thats screwed up. something tells me theres no "rush" to watching someone die. probably just nausea. Im guessing GPS would distract you if you were looking at it during a skydive? yeah it sounds kinda stupid. MB 3528, RB 1182

are those statistics really true? While I'm sure everyone really trusts Ed, it would be nice to have some independent confirmation before drawing any conclusions. MB 3528, RB 1182

thats very true... but theres a guy at our DZ that wears a big all-white suit that shows up even on clear blue sky days. but when its overcast, you can't see him. MB 3528, RB 1182 -

I thought the reporter did a great job explaining the story without any massive whuffo generalizations or made up stuff. MB 3528, RB 1182 -

i'm supposed to take mine out every day, but i usually do 2 or 3 week stretch, then leave em out for a day or two. yyeah its risky but much less hassle MB 3528, RB 1182 -
I used to turkey hunt all the time with my dad. its 3 hours of pure boredom with 3 minutes of excitement, but i liked it. MB 3528, RB 1182

ah the benefits of being in charge of the student rigs at my DZ. I get to pull a reserve on the ground about every week. make sure when you practice it on the ground to try shifting the rig around funny, or not doing up the chest strap, to simulate rig distortion during a malfunction. that way you aren't used to your handles always being in the proper spot. I think a problem is that many experienced jumpers see hundreds of new skydivers all say "I'm gonna do this for the rest of my life! I will jump every day!", then never see that person at the DZ ever again. It makes many people jaded (if thats the word I'm looking for). MB 3528, RB 1182

i'd go for a week or two, since skydiving gear sometimes takes a while to sell, but i like the idea. MB 3528, RB 1182 -

Why do you feel it is irresponsible? you don't see the possibility that even a trained CCW holder can get drunk and do something stupid? MB 3528, RB 1182
