dark color (namely black) gear. dangerous for night jumps?
bch7773 replied to superman0710's topic in Gear and Rigging
My plan is to get a main with a light blue bottom skin, and a camo pattern topskin. then i can be really sneaky during landings MB 3528, RB 1182 -
check that a cable hasn't gotten loose and is laying on something hot in there also check your computers temp to see if its overheating MB 3528, RB 1182

reserve chute is a requirement. only base jumpers jump without reserves, and they are mostly morons you COULD land with both canopies deployed, but its dangerous and stupid. most jumpers use AADs, students are required to you cannot cutaway a reserve, short of literally cutting it off your container. yeah its kinda strange. i don't come to dz.com for a few days and now apparently the new hip thing is to photoshop goggles on yourself? MB 3528, RB 1182

:3.5:1 Did an awesome demo right outside ksu stadium. also had my first student refuse to jump... so i had to ride the plane down with her. MB 3528, RB 1182

I just had mine relined about 2 weeks ago. It was 225 + shipping. they also found a small hole and patched it for $15. MB 3528, RB 1182

at my DZ its 220 for S/L, and thats because of the manufacturer's weight limit fo the container MB 3528, RB 1182
-
don't forget that a lot of people didn't get their first rig at 10 jumps. My DZ has a great gear rental price ($50 per year) and so I didn't get mine till jump 70, and i went 1.2 MB 3528, RB 1182

I didn't keep it as a momento.. I kept it as backup in case uspa lost all my info or something MB 3528, RB 1182

we use static line assist, and we use 2 new rubber bands each time, triple stowed. I don't think we've ever had a premature opening. MB 3528, RB 1182

around jump 50 or so. I'd recommend at least 50 jumps on belly before you go to sitfly... remember, freeflying may be fun, but belly skills save your LIFE. emergency bailouts, tracking, high speed mals, etc all happen on your belly. MB 3528, RB 1182

bch7773 replied to divnswoop's topic in Safety and Training
we had a student at our DZ who bought a rig and a stileto 135 from someone online. he had 5 jumps and weighed about 160 MB 3528, RB 1182 -
0:4:0 An exciting weekend. I got to call 911 for one of my students, and also had another one of my students cutaway on their first jump MB 3528, RB 1182

at my DZ we mostly have people who do only freefly, and some that do only RW. then we have a few that will do both, like myself. MB 3528, RB 1182
-
I agree. Especially since the cheapest freefly suits are already $100+, you might as well spend the extra eighty bucks or so to get a good quality one you can trust. MB 3528, RB 1182

the best way to close down skyride
bch7773 replied to salling772's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
but does skyride really care if you took away its uspa's membership? they'd probably just tell tandems that they have the national skydiving association super dropzone safety award. MB 3528, RB 1182 -
