I do. If I take a piece of equipment and use it within its limits, as it was designed and it explodes because it was poorly made, or modified and then not properly tested (Which was the Micro Raven case). Then yes I would sue. I would also hope my family would sue if RWS had put a skyhook on my rig incorrectly, and it resulted in a reserve total. I would not want them to sue if I did something stupid...Hurting myself while drunk at a DZ comes to mind, but also things like...I hook in under a good canopy. I burn in due to not dealing with a mal in time...you get the picture. Yes...It was a design failure. And I have not. The simple fact is if shit happens...I don't want anyone to sue...But if it is the direct fault of bad design, poor construction, or negligence. Then it is game on. You are free to do as you please. And thats not true.... I know folks that think this sport is safe. I will be honest, the first real wake up call I got shocked...An RSL was attributed to a fatality...then several more were. Good God an RSL was there to save you, not kill you. 2nd was when a buddy burned in WITH a CYPRES that didn't fire....Did you know the CYPRES does not arm until 1500 feet? I didn't, and a lot of folks didn't at that time. 3rd time was the Micro Raven deal...The fix was BS. #1 I had 200ish jumps #2 I had 400ish #3 1500 or so. Now I could be wrong, but I don't think the manufactorer redid the TSO with this mod....It is quite common not to redo it all the time. Racers are still using the old TSO if I am not mistaken....Mirage is useing an old one, same with Vector, and Sunpath just redid it a few years ago. If he was within the limits....Then he has a case and I would sue as well. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

The Nova collapsed without warning several times. At first Glide Path said that they were fine. Then they said not to jump them in turbulent conditions. Then they grounded them, after a jumper in Zhills went in, and the jumpers burned his canopy in the fire pit...That was about 1994? Glide Path then came out and said that the Nova was fine to jump....then the next day they went out of buisness, and opend as Flight Concepts. Are you willing to pay 2 grand for a reserve canopy? Someone has to pay for the testing. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I have on a Stiletto, both a type and size waiver in 1993. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

For my 500th jump a girl stole my factory diver and hid it. When I started looking for it, she just walked by swinging her hips, and a pair of goggles she then handed to me. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I never said there was not a difference. I think thats clear. Nothing wrong with that. sounds good to me. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I have also heard that same thing said about me. Not from Kelly....People get your mind out of the gutter...Or make room for mine. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I hear you are a Master Debater.....At least thats what I think they said. And good point about bragging vs being conceded....Luckily I have been told I am both. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

John was offored it, then Dragontail poped into town the day before....If we would have known that DT would be ummm busy, he could have stayed there. Lets see off the top of my head: HeatherB Annie Dragontail Kelel01 Ron (I was married and in the dog house a few times) I know there is more....It seems when you live on a DZ in FL....when winter comes you have a lot more friends than you thought. There is way to much talk about my couch here. I am starting to think there will be a "Ron's couch Boogie" comming. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Then I guess Chuck Yeager, Grissom...ect should just shut up then? When a guy with 5 jumps brags to his buddies thats cool. When he brags to a guy with 1,000 its not so cool. Since you have no info on your profile...I can't relate to much to you on this. Bragging is not all bad...I know several skydivers that brag...The difffernence is can they back it up. If they can let them go ahead. If not then they should expect to be called to the carpet on it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Skygod is not about skill its about attitude...The Knights, Airspeed, Majik Flyboys...ect are not Skygods....They are very skilled jumpers. A Skygod is like a 100 jump wonder with more jumps. When you act like you know it all...You are either a 100 jump wonder, or a Skygod. The slamming of TM's and saying how they are not good enough to offer advice if they have 4000 jumps but 3500 Tandems...That is attitude. One common thread you will see from me is I don't slam people...I slam attitudes. You may well be a great guy, but your post made it seem otherwise...And trust me I know...Hell I was just Im'd by someone that someone in DeLand was bitching about me.... The best piece of skydiving advice you could ever get: Learn from everyone, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. Where do you get that crock of shit? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

You are acting like one here. Thats still more than you, and me for that matter...And hell most of the folks out there. They have the right to brag since they have done a very hard type of skydive that exposes them to a greater risk than a FF or RW jump...Many more time than you have done the easier jumps. Maybe you get that attitude since yours sucks? Maybe you should keep your ears open and your mouth shut? I know several guys with many jumps I listen to in a hartbeat....Tony Hataway is one...10,000 jumps, but most are video...I listen when he says anything, not just video stuff. And like it or not a guy with 4,000 tandem jumps has done something 4,000 times....And that is more than most people will ever do. And it could be said that you should not bitch since it just makes you look foolish. You are acting like the skygod here. You preach "love in the sport", but you are slamming people. Bad form... Got any PROOF I have a sense of humor? You don't even have any proof we went to dinner (Ya don't have a receipt do ya?) And the rumored waitress was probably still drunk from her night out, so her account is highly suspect. Its all about plausible deniability folks. I still say Kelly's pictures are false....Her under canopy...Oh, those could be taken anywhere. And as for her walking back from the landing area....Hathaway can do wonderful stuff with a digital camera....Again lies! Its all a lie, she was never here. She has no pictures to prove it, and the logbook was forged. Oh yeah, there are no Americans in Bagdad...not now, not ever! Comical Ali.... "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yes....It seems that once you get about 600 jumps you think its cool to saunder out without your gear on. One time I am walking out to the plane....I have the least number of jumps on my 8 way group (3,000) And we have a member of Airspeed with us. I walk up to a guy with 1,000 jumps that does not have his rig on. I ask him to look at my group. He does...I ask him if he sees any of us without our gear on...He does not. I ask him which group is cooler....Us, or him. This is a mjor pet peave of mine..once you see a guy bounce due to not putting his fucking rig on...well you get little pet peaves like this. I thought I would repost these....I like them and they fit our canopy issues well. There is no problem so complex that it cannot simply be blamed on the pilot.- Dr Earl Weiner Mix ignorance with arrogance at low altitude and the results are almost guaranteed to be spectacular.- Bruce Landsberg Flying is so many parts skill, so many parts planning, so many parts maintenance, and so many parts luck. The trick is to reduce the luck by increasing the others.- David L. Baker For they had learned that true safety was to be found in long previous training, and not in eloquent exhortations uttered when they were going into action.- Thucydides, circa 404 BC "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
