  1. No, but the history of SH and Iraq and the lack of proof of him getting rid of the WMD's he had, and still claimed to have...All the time while supporting terroism, and saying how much he hates the US....Well that kinda is a reason. War sucks..but sometimes it is needed.....Im not going to argue with you Bill. Fact is he was a bad man, that did bad things...We tried to do it nicely, but he ignored the UN resolutions. When it came down to brass tacks the UN wussed out and showed how much of a "paper tiger" it is. The US stepped in, and did what the UN should have done. I agree with it. You may have different opinions...And I bet most of yours are from the left...Thats fine, thats what makes the US such a great place. Having served in the Army, I have the right to say what I do..As a taxpayer you have the right to say what you do... Cool huh? 2. Actually we were both in the service when he told me that.....I happen to agree. If I had children and they were in the service, I would not be happy to see them go, but I do understand the NEED. Sometimes people die doing the right thing...It sucks, but it is a fact. You have a guy that is a royal jackass, the "Butcher of Bagdad"...He has had WMD's, and has used them. He claims to still have them...Then when facing the gun he claims to have destroyed them, but can't prove that he did. All the time saying how evil the US is and saying how he would love to destroy us. All the time while supporting terror networks. Then when we do invade we find all kinds of things he claimed not to have...Maybe he didn't have an active WMD program, but he did hide them. I personally think we did the right thing. Wait we can give wrong answers? Its the lyrics to "Radar Love". Its Romeo and Juliet written backwards...by Monkeys that are stoned. Its the recipe for McDonalds "Secret Sauce". Its the location of OBL, and a map to the WMD in Iraq. There, I have done my part "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  5. I don't know..Maybe Iraq should have invaded us then? Maybe the UN will put a resolution against us...And we can ignore them. The point is quite simply that he claimed to have them. He claimed to have gotten rid of them, but could not prove he did. He then told his army to use them on US forces when we reached Bagdad. Now I don't think he had an active WMD program. However he did have them, and he didn't destroy them all now did he? These sure seemed to be hidden, not just disposed of. And like a buddy of mine told me...I don't need a better reason to go to war than to have a guy claim to hate me, and threaten me. Add in that the UN had warned him, and that he continued to play slicky boy games....I agree with taking him out. And this proves he hid stuff, and not destroyed it. There will be more found. 6. Yeah its to much fun to use them anyway
  7. True, but when I dumped....I mean the RUMOR that has been told about dumping stuff..It was not wrapped in plastic...It was more like thrown into a lake with no desire to protect it since we didn't care about that stuff, and had no plans to go get it at anytime. Also, anything of value like night vision equipment had to be turned in and accounted for...Any weapons had to be turned in and accounted for. And the Automated Net Control Device (ANCD) that had the CODSEC in it (And I had to have a secret clearance to carry in the field, or even from the Commo shop to the company safe) had to be accounted for. IF they ever gave a WMD...I can bet that they would not just let me wrap it in some plastic and chuck it to the woods. Also, Im not saying that he had a WMD program that was active when we invaded. However I am saying that since we have been looking for a while...And that we are starting to find evidence that he DID hide WMD's....That he, or his goverment DID plan on hiding them, and having access to them. This is not the smoking gun that proves he was planning on using WMD's...But it IS evidence that he DID hide them. 8. I guess I missed that in my "SF" training. However this makes it sure seem like they are WMD's: So far seems to point that way. It could prove to be just like the sarin gas....But it could also prove to be real. This does not mean he had a WMD program..It just means that instead od destroying them like he said he did...That he just hid them. Pretty much. However, I did test jumps on mains for two different companies. In those cases I knew I could get hurt/killed...But I also didn't buy the canopies, and I knew the risks. PD has proven itself over and over in MY eyes, over many years...PD is one of the FEW exceptions to my rule. But I would not buy gear from a new company...no matter what its past, or who is on it. The Nova sounded like a good canopy when it came out. Personal choice. But I plan on living till I am old. 11. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/01/10/sprj.irq.chemicals/index.html Gee, I thought he didn't have any? Wrapped in plastic. Seems like they were not just dumped. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

  14. I know you have already bought it... But my take. Never be the first on the block with the new toy. I wait two years before I buy a new product. The list of cool new products that didn't live up to the hype, or were even dangerous is quite long. Im never the first on the block with a new toy... While I am sure they are good pieces of equipment, I don't buy gear till it has been around about two years. All the issues come out in two years. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  16. I jump a Vector....It is the best engineered rig on the planet. Everything they do has been tested very well. They are the originators of many standard saftey features. 3 ring, Tandem, Sigma.....The list goes on. Having said that, yes I am also sponsord by them, so take that into account as well. I always say this about gear....Look around your DZ, and see what everyone else is jumping. There is a reason for it. It might be just a price issue (Who does not want to save money?), or an availability issue . I would not own a west coast rig if I lived in FL, with 5 major container companies right near me. Or I would not order a rig if it was going to take 2 years to get. While not scientific, looking around and buying what you see makes sense. Very few rigs could be considered "unsafe" today. Leads to point #2 with me....Never be the first on the block with the new toy. You end up being a tester. Nova, Crossfire 1, Reflex with the Catapult, Micro Raven, Astra, CYPRES 2 with the readout problem, Neptune with its gremlins, The Skyhook problem.....Get the picture? So for this reason I would not get an Icon right now.....A very good friend of mine in the industry told me he waits 2 years to get the new toy...by then most of the problems are found out. PD mains are one exeption for me personally....However I still wait two years for reserves and AAD's. 17. Hey watch your mouth there buddy Im not a leg, thats just Infantry....I get to go to battle in a cool way...Then I suck just like everyone else.
  18. Yeah, if I were to walk around and say I was "Special Forces"...My SF, Delta, SEAL, ANV, and Ranger buddies would smack me. Thats not needed, I can provide #'s that will tell you that you are full of crap. So I feel pretty "up to speed"....In fact you claim to be in Tampa, why don't we walk up to the SOCOM guys and ask them? I already know the answer I'll get. But if you want to go around calling me an SF guy, thats cool, I could use you at the bars. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  19. If you read my post I didnt say pull ups were important...I said general physical shape. If you can't walk up a flight of stairs I would not take you. Not worth the risk of getting you killed, and me getting sued. Nope, but if you are grossly out of shape the additional struggling CAN cause more stress. I have seen it over and over again. And if you were to start to go to hyperventilation, I would consider you a dangerous student. Serious health problems can be deadly in this sport. This sport is not for everyone. And that is their right to risk lawsuits and killing you. I don't care how big you are, other than not allowing the gear to be overloaded. But even if you were a tiny waiff of a girl and you could not walk up a flight of stairs without being winded I would not take you. Get over the looks part....I don't care if your big or small. I don't care if you are black, white, green ect. All I care about is saftey. And someone who is grossly out of shape (not fat, but out of shape). They are a dangerous student. I never said you were overweight...I said I would not take a person that was in such bad physical shape as to get winded after a flight of stairs...Then you took it personal since you seem to get winded after a flight of stairs... Given what I now know about you, yes I would not have taken you. But then again I don't instruct for a living, and I don't have to take marginal students so I can eat. and once again here is what I said about the damn pullups: "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
  20. He said: And it was about being a student. I would have serious issues with taking a person up who could not climb a flight of stairs...This is a physical activity, and if you are not fit it is harder than when you are fit. The pull up thing is not such an issue, but if you are not fit enough to climb stairs...Then I would doubt your ability to handle the physical stress, and the emotional stress of skydiving. I will not take people who are clearly out of shape skydiving. This is a SPORT, and there is some level of fitness required. Once you have some experience it is easier to be out of shape...You have knowledge that can offset your physical limitations. Bad example....It was a job site, and no one thought they could pull off an attack like that....But yes several people refused to work in high towers after that and it also effected the design of the new building on the spot. Working in the WTC was not dangerous until there was an ATTACK. Thats different than building a big ass stack of wood for a tradition. I don't go out in tornados...If I do and get killed then yes, it is my fault. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
