That is a valid reason...But your evidence is based on opinion. We have talked about that before. And opinion (even if widely held) is not always correct. Thats nice, but a warning shot across the bow does not equal empirical data. Not trying to argue, just pointing out a shortcoming. As always, greenies are free to do as they please in regards to the judgment and/or punishment they deem correct. Question for you. If your vacation was planned for last week to say Europe. Would you have gone? If no, what if the agency would not allow you to reschedule, or refund your money? While I agree that going on vacation there right now seems in bad taste. Some might have had that trip planned for years, so I am not going to blast them without more info. There is always more than one side to the story. And I doubt these people planned the trip there after the disaster. A tazer? This guy had TWO lethal weapons. A guy charging me with TWO lethal weapons is a danger in my opinion. A 19 year old with a history of violence charging at me with TWO lethal weapons. A 19 year old with a history of violence charging at a cop with TWO lethal weapons....I would have shot him also. A tazer is for NON lethal threats....A guy running at me with TWO lethal weapons does not fit that situation. That was not my statement. In fact you know I didn't want Johns ban permanent. Now, why only hold a select groups history against them? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -
I think the priorities are just fine the way they are. We spend more on defense than aid...So what? We don't want to be invaded...I tend to agree with that. But we still spend MUCH more on foreign aid than any other country. OK fine also. They also take out total good done. Sure you could have a small country give 40% of its GNP, but it might be one billion dollars total. The US gave 15.8 Billion just last year. What does more good, 1 Billion or 15.8? Who's business is it how much you gave to charity last year? Thats your call, not mine anyway. So what IF you could give more? It's your money and your right to spend it how you want...I find it funny that the US out gives everyone else by almost DOUBLE and that people still bitch. No, I really don't care. If the US (And I know it is) is one of the largest producers, then it/we should work on it. We should not just use some bullshit numbers trick like you do with the GNP% "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

OK, but don't you think that the added resposibility of a persons life is worth extra income? I do. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

So what? The question was"aid" not defense. You have a beef about denfense? Start another thread to bash the US. I love how people try to chnage the subject when they can't defend a position. The US gives almost double the money than any other nation to help. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

I heard a story on NPR about Dr's. It said that they work some of the worst shifts around. They said that the shifts result in a higher level of mistakes. I remember think it was a little far fetched. So I asked some of my Dr. friends and they agreed. Tell me, how many IT folks do you know that work 12hrs a day at in an environment where lives are on the line with each step. See if a Dr. screws up, someone dies and then someone sues. If you Computer science guy screws up....No one dies. Great responsibility should come with greater pay. Maybe, but we give more than the next closest country by almost double in real dollars. So while we may not give as much per capita...We give almost twice as much as anyone else...And thats just in dollars from the Government, it does not include individual contributions, or military aid (Those choppers you talked about, ya know we have to pay to fly those right?) Idealistic, and not very real world. I am sure most Dr's. want to do what they do not just for the nice cars...(Doctors have the higest suicide and divorce rates of any profession)...But being a nice guy does not pay off the bills to school that they owe, or the fact that it took them 6-7 years to become a Dr. If you told Dr's that they would only make 40 grand a year, you would not get the best and brightest doing it.....I for one like the idea of the smartest becoming Dr's. Then you don't like progress? I guess you don't eat food that used checmicals. If you want to pay the price for those foods thats your right. That is capitalism at work. You want organic foods you can buy them if you can afford them. I'll go with the cheaper stuff thanks. We had capitaism since day one. If this blacksmiths prices were to high you could go to another. If you wnated the best you paid the price the best asked. And we STILL have skilled craftsmen. Ever frame a house? Hang a door? Ford also brought the 5 day work week. He also made it so that the common man could afford things that only the rich could afford. And by doing so, he made himself very rich. You can say many bad things about Ford (For example how he hated Jews), but his goal to make a car affordable to everyone was a rather socalistic ideal. Then why does the US have the best health care and Canada one of the worst? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Congress gave the go ahead...The time for them to say no was when they voted on it...But at that time it was not a popular idea... Now that war bashing is popular many of them are saying they didn't want it. But the records show they voted to allow it. For the record I sent a PM to a MOD. I asked him not to ban John. The reply was basicly that they have a list of folks that have been pushing the edge so long that they are close to being kicked out of SC forever. John was on that list, and they are sick of the hidden attacks. They are holding peoples history's against them. Funny thing is they as of yet do not have a way to track a ban after it has expired, so they are going on feeling, not fact. A way to track the reason for a ban, and who banned them would be a great step in checking to see if a MOD is showing a bias. I have been told this has been discussed. Also, John is not the first person to get hit with this, I think Peaceful J was. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -
That is for you, and your prospective employer to decide. No, me saying I know of several jobs that pay well and you could go to school while doing them, but you have to be willing to work is a simple statement. I see people come through here like we have a revolving door. We start them at around 10 bucks an hour and great benefits (3500 a year for school, cheap health care, 401k...blah, blah) but the work is not for the lazy or those that can't be bothered to show up on time. I drive 40 miles one way to work. And I don't work in Zhills anyway. No offense, but those are just excuses. If you wanted to find a job that meets your needs...You would. People have done it for hundreds of years. Where do you live? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Bullshit. I work for a company that loves college kids...They even pay 3500 a year for them to go to school.....Of course you have to actually work. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

It would work However making the freeloading parents work, and providing education for the kids would be better than just handing out checks. And you avoid that whole letting children starve thing. Truffer and I talked about that some. I asked him if he was writting a story up for his mag. He said not really since most boogie pices are only interesting to a few folks....I told him while that may be true to experienced jumpers (such as yourself a big way guru) or the people who attended the event. I told him that I can remember when I was new and I read every damn article in the magazines. And since most jumpers are new he should write one. However since his is a subscription mag, unlike the USPA mag, he has a good grasp on his target audience. The USPA asked me to write an artical about the Zhills Turkey boogie...However they asked me to do it after the event and its hard to write about a subject afterwards when no one really took notes.
