    Jumptown

The place is not a business, it really is a club. Many good things to offer in all related skydiving activities and trainin, RW, CRW, freefly. They are legends, being open for more than 40 years, funded by legends in the sport. They managed to create an atmosphere of drug free, true sport club, where you not only go there to jump, but to train, become proeficient in any speacialty, and their willingnes to teach you all the way. They are true professionals, even when you make mistakes, the courtesy and great manners could be the envy of any dropzone. I will call this my second home without a doubt.
  2. Not sure exactly what you mean by that, but historically it was Hitler that declared war on the US, not the other way around 1941 . Generally speaking a country goes to war when war is declared on it. And I guess Hitler is Russian? Until then, the US did not provide a great deal of help beyond normal trade, and what about the flying tigers? I thought they wer helping china combat japs before 12/07/41. Maybe you got a book I don't got. and thanks to Joe Kennedy and Prescott Bush the US also did a whole lot of trade with Nazi Germany. and what about Chamberlain and Halifax attitude, regardless, Kennedy was removed in fact, after that fiasco and due to this he never ran for president, don't forget the essays his OWN SON wrote about the hitlerization of Germany.....Hmmmm? So I guess I making this all up that even though there were great warnings and France and Britain let Germany build up, and refuse to stand up against the take over the czech republic, no, lets wait, I think we see this happening again. 7. If you read my post before this one, you will find the reference when I'm stating the EU stands corrected for the old continent. I know that this union did not ocurred but until 1992, and recently with the adopted Euro Dollar as common currency, as well as the ongoing debate on a cosntitution for them. It is not anything I got against this at all, I think this was a major achievement for mankind, and somewhat reassuring that the conflicts of the past, which has dragged world wide war, will hardly occur at least on the old continent. What I don't agree with is the fact that when most people try to advocate peace, tend to finger point to the US as a sole creator of problems, they tend to forget what history has taught us AD and on. I'm not saying that US is perfect, for it is not and no one will ever be, but we have a serious problem world wide and the emphasis should be to put the foot down and solve the issues at hand, and stop bickering about the petty things. We should unite in sending a strong message to rogue nations, who intend to arm themselves when they don't want to follow UN guidelines, or just as they see fit. I was very concerned by the UN when for example, they went through endless rethoric and time wasting for just the fact that they would not allow the Swiss flag just because the form was different. Can you imagine the credibility of an institution that should care for greater problems than that wasting countless time and money for such a little matter? I don't, but if you can explain this let me know. Thanks for your correction by the way. 8. Hey Jason, I agree with you 100% in this matter. This so called EU people, not for the fact of the European union, but coming from the old continent, I guess they need an explanation about who has starter both world wars. They seem not to understand, that thanks to all the european countries involved in the first one, was not called world war until US got involved in 1917, I guess Russia is part of Europe based on a some new map that is too complex for us to understand. World War II, started with a liason of Italy, JAPAN, and Germany, having the japanese take over some parts of CHina, and even though the war was declared much after Germany (Europe?), was able to take over the now Check- slovakia republics, while the French and Britons thought about things, and sat around, waiting for them to get stronger and find things worse, and made up their inds after Germany invaded Polland. So Mikkey, don't get mad, and don't negate that ALL the COUNTRIES that started both World Wars were not EUROPEAN in nature. Got it? comprende? US started to create opposition to Japan advances in indochina. So now, I guess this was a really bad thing to our friends now. Gee I wonder if I really want this type of friendship..... You may want to describe us as ignoring your friends, and that the US does not understand the complexities of the world, The US has allways in some form or another has provided help with those less fortunate, perhaps not sufficient enough, but on major disasters, they have always provided with some relief, they helped relieved and rebuild Europe, with their own money, yet when the shit has hit the fan here, no one is willing to help over here. So don't patronize about selfishness, please back your words with action before you are even willing to discuss something with TRUE FACTS. and I'm not angry at all, I just love to hear when people think that they are right by all means, I still think that there is no good solution either way, if you try to advocate peace, it won't work, I guess I would prefer protecting my own first. 9. Lets wait for the EU to discuss this. here "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  10. I guess we do not know what are we arguing about, yet, he tried to tell us that the Japs started WWII when they attacked the US. That the Versailles treaty, crafted by the allies in 1918, were the basis of the next WWII. He does not refute or has nothing to say about the yugoslavia thingy in the EU sight, nor the search of power that the EU is trying to seek. No, never mind, we will never be able to undersand such complex things... "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  11. This can never be a debate, for WWII started Sept 1, 1939. Pearl Harbour was Dec 7 1941... Maybe you were cryogenically challenged during those two years, perhaps? Just an idea out there..... "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  12. You should ad that the old EU was the only sponsor of both WW that I know of, and then asked US for HELP "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  13. Well Mikkey, please make up your mind, if we US is using or not the UN. This is one thing, if you don't agree then do not make comments to the contrary and then stretch the truth to your convenience. Yes, the other solution, is that hard measures should be taken. If this guy is threatening to use Nuclear weapons, then hmmm lets wait and see what happens not!. Nuke them. Is there anything confusing about this statement? 16. Blue and Mikkey were the ones correct. If you are calling any country, never include the zeroes in front of the codes, iE Venezuela, 59 not 059, Caracas (used to be 02 but when dialed it was 2). "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  17. I do to, finding an inspiration, and a lesson to be learned. By the way Chris, you should get back on track and try to finish AFF, I am planing to get a 6 way tube in jumptown soon...hehehehehe "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  18. just some math here....Iraq - 24 mill. US troops and allies: close to 300K. Killed in battle, after war, close to 300. I guess I do not know the numbers but last time I saw something it was about 6000 casualties accounted for Iraq. So I don't think we are seeing another vietnam.. How long did it take to throw this guy out? "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  19. Oh Mikkey, The solution is obvious, you put up crap, and we go after those renegade leaders, and squash them. The bickering has resulted from the not listening to their constant pleas in which they clearly intended to disregard the US in the UN. Just as a reminder look at what happened in the Human Rights chamber....Hhhmmmm Libya, syria? and US out? SO yes I guess US is very famous of treating the POW they retain, when they give them the food they eat, let them pray, etc, etc. Oh sure, just ask the germans and Japs that were over here when WWII happened and get them together with those of the allies and exchange stories. Sure, Asia and Europe is doing a great job arresting them, yet why are they not here? because we are watching, and squashing them really bad. They still will resist and this will probably end the world as we know it. Yes, the US gave Taliban warnings, they declared them to hand over the Al Qaida, or else we will be very PISSED of and go after your ass, instead of like they did, we really are pissed off at you, keep helping me, and then I'll go and bomb your buildings. Wow, I change my mind, I'll join the EU. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  20. Blue....man, Based on your posting, I take it that you have served the community, as a policeman, yet you have been denounced as barbaric just because you had to shoot on self defense like that poor little kiddo that ran away on a high speed chase, and decided that after getting them winded up, he had the brilliant idea to get his cellpone in a very agreesive demeanor and make gestures with it in the middle of the night, to the police officers.... Poor kid it is not his fault. I bet my rig in this forum, if someone here comes up and tells me that if they decided to aboard a plane to lets say LA-NY, and sits next to a sweaty towel head that looks nervous and they won't be bothered at all. Sure, I know not all of them are like that, but where can I see the difference? Let him press a button and ask questions later? "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
  21. Agreed, they both rawk!!! And for Art, I definitely would like to get in contact with you, PM, for I think that you are giving us a lesson here that sometimes we tend to forget. As you Michele, you have been neglecting a request......pm me and let me know how can I help you relax....... Blue ones my friends. 22. Bill, I agree with you, believe it or not, in regards of finding better solutions. But what I find very interesting is that the world is not leaving much room for tolerance nor respect from either side. Regardless of who has the blame or who is at fault, I really believe that the muslim situation is completely out of control. In some portions it is US fault, but it is also every single nation that has helped over there as well as the muslims themselves. I never hear them complaining of the genocide practiced among themselves, Lebanon, Iraq where towns were just swiped, bulldozed and built over, then it goes to point fingers that it is the jew's fault no matter what, then the concerned that they seem to be unable to separate church and state, making any other religion practically illegal. Yes I see that they are intolerant, and most US is being intolerant to the intolerant. Since we do not know how to distinguish from good arab-persian from bad one, how come they don't take it upon themselves and purge themselves? Either way we are doomed for worst times. I would prefer to be fighting than having be caught by surprise. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

  24. Not correct, a number of European countries supported the US (including troops) - but they did it often due to loyalty without great joy.... what happened refuting this one? cat got your tongue? I am sorry but this is exactly the issue I have with the Americans - big sweeping statements. And talking about Africa and Middle East - I think US policies post WW2 have been huge contributors to many of the issues in the ME and Africa. But it is a very complex issue. Not understanding the complexities is the biggest problem the US has. Well "John Wayne" this statement is exactly why the US is falling out with large part of its allies. Talking about "superiority" and "ego" - living in a glass house - are we? not John wayne, just call me Juan. If you think it was nice to have the twin towers blown, and then we just should sit there calmly saying, oh yea lets wait till our Euro Friends decide that we should step up measures against Saddam, and terrorist states, hhmmmm, either way we are F&%^&^ed, the difference now is that they are thinking a lot more deeply before starting any offense against US, and at least this has created a worldwide will to go after these terrorist, their money, etc. But yes, granted it is not a black and white issue. So again, if you don't have a better proposition, then please step aside. Correct - but most help from the US - during the Iran war. I actually support getting rid of Saddam, but the way it was done... A lot of Europeans were saying: we understand and support you, but basing the case on threat of WMD and connections to Osama is flimsy at least. Also, what are you going to do in Iraq after the war - it is a very complex country. I used to always support the US ( I grew up in Europe and without the support of the US we would have lost our freedom), but the current administration is behaving in such an arrogant and aggressive way that they are going to loose many friends... a: Mostly from the states???? Arrogant? tell me which European country ever declared war against a nation, and then put their own money to rebuild it? so you just forgot those contracts with Germany and France and even England (let us say the super gun) that where made after 1991 and had provided steady techno help in nuclear and armaments? Oh yea, I forgot, this is not true, it is something US made up. So yes, I do fear that it seems that is all going to hell, but again, we can not keep on waiting here. Or next time around we will find out that Europe will elect N. Korea for human rights.... 25. Angela, At 13500-15000 ft high, you will always get a great view regardless if is on desert, close by the sea, or moutains......or just cow pastures, trust me,the last thing you will be checking out on your first jump. You will be more on the line of thinking WTF am I doing??????? It it the first ride on a plane that will have a hole open to the wind, and your total disbelief of what you will do next. Either way, the firs tandem jump you should enjoy it faster for there is almost no instruction. AFFI you will be more concerned on passing the level than really enjoying the flight unless you relax....very difficult the first time. If I were you, I would just go ahead with AFF, for the faster you get it done, the most freedom you will get from it. No matter where you do your first aff, as long as you keep your log book correctly sign and approved by your JM, you can even call those 2 dz and let them know your plans and see if they'll help u out. Anyways, enjoy and blue skies once more. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
