Ron, I was witness to one you were also present, May this year at Z-hills. The moment has yet been vivid in my mind as it was today. Back then I only had close to 50 jumps, and really made me take a hard look into this sport, in that case, It felt cold, and strange, all I could think is why? saw the last 200 feet of his flight, and remember absolutely everything, I was geared up for the very next load and did not made it before 3 or 4 people were already there. I decided not to approach you guys (as you posted before you were there), for there was absolutely nothing for me to do. I decided to get back in the air in the very next load, there were 5 more people with me making a RW jump, and we were all in shock and sorrow, it is something I would not wish anyone to go through. What worried me then and hopefully for the rest of my life is that he had a good canopy, plenty of experience (600 jumps), and yet something went terribly wrong. I decided to keep his name out of this, but only wish that his family and those close to him have found peace. Mujie, Jessica, and all those close to Rob, You all have been included in my daily prayers, although I have no time to post anyhting here, nor I think any words will be able to help you ease the pain, and grief. It is hard to lose someone so dear, and that feeling of hopelesness. You are not alone, as most of the people here have shown solidarity and help (Michele, I admire your actions), keep us up to date with anything you will like to vent, or say, or PM call, do whatever you have to to let your close friends, and the people that care about you be there for you in this time of need. I guess I would have to agree to both of you, Ron and Roy. Although I have not even 1% of the jumps you both have, it was very reassuring for me to do a hop & pop right after my first packing..... S/L will give anyone the assurance to jump out of the plane, and land on your own. Blue ones. Chuck, It will come in time, sorry to hear that story, but sometimes, all of us have had to postpone our jumping at some point. There is this guy Muenkel, that as Michele said, lives in the worst place for skydiving weather in the US, the northeast. I would like to encourage you and him to never give up and keep the positive attitude. Even Michele, has some sort of ailment that impedes another brave soul to take to the skies.
