Alex, You asked for the facts, and they were laid out here, many times, I personally know this much about your friend, she has posted her belief that only in Northern California, you will find civility in the US. This is not making and ass out of myself. It's her own statement. You don't need to insult me either, nor curse, for I have nothing or have talked to you directly for you to jump in, regardless she is your very close friend. If you see all the posts she made, they are not based on what the actual turn of events took place, to the extent that she pretends to offer an expertise she clearly does not have on the subject in question, and neither you, which also include distorted history of what California is in respect to the rest 49 states. She clearly defines that she is right, and she expects us not to be worried about an attitude of "know it all/I'm always right" won't be the same when she will jump out of a plane? what is it that can give us this confidence? (at least for those who jump), we know that this can carry really bad consequences for all those around these type of people who won't listen. So I would make a safe assumption on not wanting to jump on the same load just to be safe from an avoidable risk. I recon my harsh comment of shooting first and asking questions later was somewhat hard, and for this I will apologize to her, as I did earlier in the Chatroom. I did chat a little bit with her, and she is a character, I give you that, we will never agree on many things, and wish her nothing but safety as well as for the rest of us. I came across another posting here in which you use the same words same postings as an answer. Should we not assume that your rethoric is vane and just copied all over the place and have not much but nice words well put that are for eternal use over and over again? Let me know for I will be interested to know. In any case, I wish you nothing but blue skies. THanks for all the info, I PM Bill and will get to the list. I rather leave my canopy skills out of this post, but I have been just cleared by my STA for my C license. The increase on my wingload will be done later, but I wanted to get as many facts as I could into the equation, for I've been worried of the increasingly high numbers of incidents-fatalities related to low turns, under panic......or generally under good canopy, grave pilot error. Thanks to all, and blue skies. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

THanks to all. Definitely this is something I want an ok from my S&TA before doing it, but wanted to get an input from people that know about this. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

Not really, I think I am flying a truck with my weight, this canopy. I just did some demos with a sabre2 190 and it was much more responsive. It is like driving a bus-sportscar comparison. Yep. Very cool pics. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon -
Eric, I have seen and used a 190 demo, and it was farily much responsive and maneuverable. What would be my wingloading if I decide to get a new canopy (with the green light from the S&TA?) Could anyone help me here? I have been contemplating downsizing to a 190, currently my exit weight is 200, and fly a 210 canopy. I'm very conservative, and don't contemplate swooping as part of my skydiving experience. At lease for a long while. I'm just looking for something more "packable". Thanks. Me 2. No doubts. Most likely he would never be able to be a police officer or served the military in his life time. I would defend my family, people, any time any place. Hello! Almost new diver here (FLORIDA)...

Cool Angela, Glad you decided to go ahead with AFF and skip the tandems (more $$ for your jumps). See if you can also go for 10 min at the tunnel. It will defintely help you with your free fall adventure. (Specially you AFF levels). Anyway glad you are with us now. Blue skies! Oh, well, I guess you are looking for a particular religious book that fits you the best. But I think you are missing the point of a good joke. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

Either way, the only think you can ask for is window or aisle. So I don't see your point, I choose to airtravel regardless the risk involved. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

Mike, Either way you will reflect losses on that month. You will not be able to claim any loss revenue, for you work basically on cash basis. There are not collectable revenues that I could think of on this type of operations, except for the upkeep of the planes, and perhaps salaries paid if any. Either way there will be losses. It is unfortunate about the dropzone woes, particularly for this year's weather, added up on the misfortunes. I would like to make a suggestion, why not start some instructions when these type of situation arises? CRW, RW, etc. I would personally be very interested in taking some video classes with you.......... Take care and blue skies! Well, following your debate, I would be very wary if a towel head seats next to me in any flight, doemstic or international. It is not about hating a particular race or creed, but unless Iknow them personally, I would on the defense with them. What is it that you don't understand? IF, IF IF, you harm someone expect the same. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

Hope you get better. That really sucks, for there is nothing you can do with that, just wait and heal...... I would suggest rubbing alcohol (there is one named ABSORBINE?) you can get it almost anywhere, and just rub it a little. It really helped me when I broke a rib a few years ago. Take care >>> "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

CNN got a hold of my story... I DID IT! I left my wheelchair behind
juanesky replied to Rebel's topic in The Bonfire
Art, You deserve the story, for although I know you have not been the only one that has done it, to your credit is that you are the first non jumper that has. I am not implying that this also takes the merit from who have done it before, for they all are very brave souls, showing us that no matter what our predicament is, or how unfortunate our life can be, there will always be a way to live life in full. I honestly think that your jump, really defines you as a skydiver, which is not about the lifestyle, how many jumps, but an attitude towards life, and willingless to learn and overcome the dangers. Blue skies my friend. "According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon -
Bill, I will never forget 9/11. It is hard for it has affected us like nothing else has affected before. THe international implications had tremendous consequences, and did in fact reverberate worldwide. Now, terrorism has existed before, no doubt, but the difference is that now, we know that they are willing to put anyone at risk regardless their origins. Imagine if an airliner anywhere in the world now would enter any of these zones, when forbidden, they WILL BE SHOT DOWN. So, if you are a person in Spain, travelling from Madrid to NYC, then you can imagine, that you could be shot down, even if it is a pilot error entering some area he should have not. This was never thought of before, and now they have the true legacy, to shot first and ask questions later.... It has made people wary all over the world is not just here. It has affected at so many levels the world economy too, just take the figures on international travel, tourism, (where it is the main income on many nations), so tell me what would be the magic solution there is. Nothing much but the great risk of creating big brothers all over the world in the name of protection. Granted the US has made MANY grave and not so grave mistakes througout its history, Slavery, McCarhtyism, segregation, yet there has always been a way, hard or not for the people to fight and overcome these obstacles for believe or not, it is a democracy. It is sad that the people at Lebanon will be hurt, as our sport has also suffered. I also became homeless this year for the fact that FAA will not allow fun jumpers in Lincoln RI. I'm pissed about it, but the DZO's are trying the best to get us jumping, as well as USPA, and all the venues possible. Believe it or not we all have suffered for this, of course far less than those who did on that somber day. The sad part of my point of view is the fact that to change the world, the only way is with education, control population growth and seek other venues that far trascend just simple national frontiers. The earth as a planet can only take so much abuse by us, yet no nation is really committed in seeking real solutions. (Yes there are a lot of treaties and conventions about the greenhouse effects, contamination and all that, yet the cities worldwide get bigger and bigger, and soon we will find out that this old planet will not hold room for 9 trillion people going to the restroom at the same time without making a mess. Stop blaming it all to one particular nation. If we were trully commited to a better future, we would not ride planes, drive cars, and procreate like bunnies. Just my 2 cts.
