  1. It has been MY experience that the people who usually tell you to do RW first...are the ones who did RW first...keeping in mind that FF is relatively new in comparison. My .02 and experience.....Don't use coaching as a security blanket. I did sooo many solos and 2 ways w/ people of the same experience level to get basic positions and meneuvers down. Then my more experienced friends would take me up for a video and some 'coaching' each week or so...I repeated that process many times. Each time working out any kinks till I could start hangin' on the kick ass dives.
  2. Everyone has opinions on what others should and should not do. IMO, skydiving is skydiving. You have many diciplines to choose from. If FF is what floats your boat, do it. It's your money and your jump. There are risks with every dicipline. Take it all with a grain of salt. That's what I did.
  3. IMO, BOCs are less likely to cause a horseshoe mal because the bridal is not/less exposed.
  4. Ditto Darkwing! Until you get a few jumps under your belt, I'd stick to a suit and your range with body position. If you still have problems, I also recommend a weight belt. I have one for CRW and love it.
  5. Please see attached photo.....The Winter one was one of my favorites!!!

    low pulls

IMO, anything under 1000' is a good dirty low pull. But they always say they were at 2 grand
  7. Buy used gear until you settle into a canopy of your choice. I just hate when students are suckered into buying brand new gear. Ask around, try some on, make sure it fits, and make sure you're not being taken for a ride on the price.... IMO, all fairly new gear is a pretty safe bet Gear has come such a long way. It's mostly just preference.
  8. Not picky...It usually gets thrown down on the grass after a jump...then packed in stages. When I first got my gear I wa anal...but that quickly passed.

  10. I know a Vinny at the Ranch...but there is a few...is he in this pic...at the bottom in black?
  11. I've done it under canopy and after I landed. Hope that helps!
  12. I had pressure in my head after my first jump too. I just held my nose and gently cleared my ears. No need to worry though...it goes away and wont happen too much longer. As far as feeling sick...I didn't..but I think it's from the adrenaline...which you will also get used to. Good luck! I hope the same works for you!
  13. Some rear riser imput has given me many dead centers when I needed a little extra
  14. I had a barbell in my tongue for 8 years and hadn't noticed any signifgant difference. I also have other piercings but still no 'big' change. Wait....I did notice a big difference with a nipple piercing though...way more sensative. But everyone is different.
  15. Just the USA for me. There's just soooooo many DZs here, everywhere you go.
  16. I think you should demo if you're unsure of what you want to fly. IMO, 7 cells and 9 cells fly and land differently. You just have to figure out which one you have more fun flying. The 2 canopies in question are both relatively safe canopies for a 'first wing'...Which one is up to you

  18. I found this on Wendy Faulkner's website....some are the same but there are some different ones toward the end.
  19. LOL...Way to many excuses!!!! You don't owe beer for that. Doesn't sound like you're going to hell but I think the rules are that you can't enjoy the beers of others' firsts.
  20. Please see the beer code of ethics: http://crw.boxofclue.com/skydive/ncb.html And the beer rules: http://crw.boxofclue.com/skydive/beer_rules.html
