You can never know enough. Go out there and learn. You'll be a lot more comfortable with your gear when you know how it works. As for you packing...I say go for it! One of the packers at my DZ brought her kids out the airport and I let her little girl pack my rig....It opened great and I paid her for it too -
Get a demo from PD...I think you can even get it overnighted if you pay the extra shipping.

I never had a problem w/ other DZs. To be honest, most didn't even look after they knew I had a D and I'm a current member. My X had a problem once...but he just had manifest fax over a log of the month to show he was current. No big deal so far.

When I do talk to my family about skydiving, I tell them everything. They would rather I didn't jump but they know it makes me happy so....I tell them all the tales, they already think I'm NUTZ!

As time passed, I got lazy...I don't 'really' log....I just get a printout from manifest at the end of the year to know how many jumps I did/have.

LOL....If he is a lightweight and was the first to pass out then he should lose an eyebrow! Edited...Or at the very least, draw on his face w/ permanent marker

since 297 openings went fine and 3 went like shit....It doesn't seem to be a manufacture's issue...I'd concentrate on packing, body position, and steering the opening. (Just my opinion...not an expert by any means.)

I didn't have a problem reading my alti while FF. I used a mini glow stick attached to my alti with gaffers tape on the left side so that I could see from 6 grand and under.

I think there is only 3 levels....I put my name in, hit a button, and was back at level one....but then again, I don't know German so who knows what the hell I pushed. I thought the game was awesome!!! Will be passing that on through email. (only 3 levels....but level 3 changes each time you play it....yummy!)

No way! It would be a silent killer for me...I love CRW....and after a FF jump, hooking up a stack is just the second half of my skydive. RSLs & CRW can be very ugly.

I would never purposely wet my canopy. I would just leave it as is. When buying a canopy.....My first question is 'Has it ever been wet?' Like the areticle says...cleaning the canopy can be more harmful then the stain. Just my opinion.

ummmm....when my friends and I start.....and even when we have had many.....Those rules most definitely have been broken. Re: your 'low costing beer'...We call that 'decoy' beer. Ya know...buy a nice 12 pack for yourself and a case of shit for the voulchers. It works every time AND everyone is happy. I guess you would hate drinking with us.
