  1. I have one, and it's one of my favorites. I also have and like Wings and Vector III. Of the three, I like the design of the Vector III the best, but it is a close call. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  2. I started psycho packing my Triathlon and I get the nicest, slowest, softest, sweetest openings every time. I'll never go back either. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  3. Actually, the question is can a U.S. rigger repack one in the U.S. legally? CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  4. Is the Chute Shop Decelerator reserve legal in the U.S. (has it been TSOed)? CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  5. I worry more about mice in those lockers. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  6. I've got one of each. If I could only have one, it would be the ProTrack. If I could have two, it would be the ProTrack and the ProDytter. Neither was out when I bought the Skytronic. Before that, I had a Skycorder! CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  7. I use Slinks on both my mains and my PD and Precision reserves (those were the only two that they were approved for last I heard). I like them better than the Rapidlinks (unless you have to remove and reinstall them a lot, in which case I would stick with the Rapidlinks). CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  8. I quit wearing watches (except when I dive). It's amazing how many alternative sources of time are around when you stop to look. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  9. The only problem I've had with mine (the new one, not the used one) is that one of the riser covers kept popping open until the thing got broken in. Now, no problem. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  10. In the legal world, the fact that someone takes remedial actions (fixes the defects) generally cannot be used against them later (that would discourage remedial actions, and that would be a bad thing). What I don't get is why it's okay to keep it in the rig and use it without the modification, but only until the repack is due; then all of a sudden it's not legal to repack it until the modifications are done. Either they need to be done or they don't. And if they need to be done, the manufacturer should pay for the modifications, not the consumer. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  11. BTW, the stolen gear link is under the marketplace link at www.uspa.org. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  12. I'd search the list in Parachutist. Go to www.uspa.org and click on stolen gear. I'd like to get the guy's name if you don't mind sending it to me. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  13. In another world, long ago, there was a forum called the Cracker Barrel, where conversations were free to meander and transform and transgress and transpire. Mostly talk of licking toes and the like. Just a passing thought. And a fond memory. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  14. Did Steve at ParaQuip pack your reserve? He's the one who had the seal I saw. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  15. I've actually seen one. It has the seal on one side, and the bones on the other. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  16. I tried to get them to put a skull and cross bones on mine, but they couldn't do it. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  17. Para-Gear http://www.paragear.com/rigging/ CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  18. You'd be adding the rating for back packs to your existing Riggers Certificate. You have to do your 20, then take a practical. I'd suggest trying to locate an examiner, and talking to him about what he sees you doing as part of the practical. Expect lots of twists, turns, and tangles, inside out canopies, etc. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  19. No problem. Let me know if you want the 160. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  20. I've asked around at various places (Pearlvision, etc.) and they seem to think that there aren't any frames small enough to do the trick if you have prescription lenses. I hope you find something. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  21. Last I knew, PD was taking the position that Slinks were approved under their STC for PD reserves only. Precision has approved the use of Slinks on Raven reserves. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  22. I've gotten in the habit of taking the excess strap and folding it three times and putting the elastic over the stack of strap, creating a kink in the strap just below the buckle, which tends to keep it from loosening. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  23. As long as propacking is approved by the manufacturer, you can propack a reserve. So far, I have propacked almost all of the "square" reserves I've done. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  24. Good question. Being a rigger, and since I jump at a DZ with a loft on the premises, I just borrow what I need if I don't have my rigger's kit with me. What would I suggest? Small crescent wrench and screwdriver (for Rapidlinks), pre-made closing loops for your main, and duct tape. Well, maybe not duct tape. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
  25. I usually start waving off at 3,000 and pull shortly thereafter. The ProTrack shows me open at 2,200 on a pretty consistent basis. Based on the openings I get (slow), that's about right (I have verified it a few times by checking the Digitude after opening). CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
