I like my Z-1. I didn't used to flip the visor up under canopy unless it fogged (only happened a couple of times), but lately I've been flipping it up every time so I can get some wind in my face. Of course, now that the wind is getting colder, the novelty is starting to wear off...... CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

3,600; 2,500; 1,500. Break off (late but this is supposed to be a back up to my eyes so I don't get out of the habit), opening (usually I've pulled by now but don't open for another 300 feet), and "get your shit together NOW". CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I've owned and jumped both the Dolphin and Wings. The Dolphin is a good container, but nothing fancy. It's designed to appeal to the lower end user (in terms of cost). The Wings is designed a little better and has lots more options in terms of colors and options (stainless, rings, etc.). And I really like the reserve set-up on the Wings (the bag is different). Basically, I think the Dolphin is a stripped down Javelin and the Wings is in a different category. Again, both are good, and both are comfortable if properly sized. But if I had a choice, all else being equal and money being no object, I'd go with the Wings. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I've found that a two-day process works best for repacking a Reflex. I pack it, wait 24 hours to let the air seep out a little more, then snug the poptop down a little more. I always test the pull too. Cosmetics are important, but function is more important. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I just read an article on this subject. Can't remember if it was in Skydiving or Parachutist, but it was in the last issue of one of them. Try to find it. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

Another reason not to go is so you don't pass it on. I hate people who feel free to share their virus. It has a bigger impact on me than on most, because it means I can't dive (SCUBA), jump (skydive), or fly (private plane). That leaves surfing the net for porno. Okay, so it's not all that bad. Still, I'd rather have more options. If you're sick, stay home and get better. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

There may be a scattering this Spring from what I hear. The last one was an event to remember. It's a fitting way for a skydiver to go. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

Is she heavy? She actually looks pretty good in the picture. But you can only see her face. Still waiting for the posts of the naked pics. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

My personal limit is 35 degrees on the ground. It used to be higher, but I was smarter then. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I bought the showcase container from Quincy 2000 from The Sunshine Factory. It's red and purple checkerboard and looks sharp as hell. Has purple leg pads and straps. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

Had a bag come out as I exited the plane at 10,000 forming a horseshoe mal. I figured it out right away and threw out the PC. The only problem I had then was I was open at 9,500 in December in Ohio. Pretty darn cold up there. It was a long ride down, but uneventful. The next mal was really bad line twist with knots. Had to chop that one. Again, no real problem. Even recovered all of the pieces parts. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

Jumping has to come first. There are plenty of "significant others" in your future. Don't waste your time trying to accomodate the current one. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I keep my stuff in the living room so the smell permeates the entire house. I know exactly what you mean!!! CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

Rocksport tennis shoes, with double tied laces. But I know a guy who jumps with loafers and we can't get them off in freefall even though we try. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

Wings. No contest. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I have it and I use it. I don't bother with the paper log anymore. Make sure you have all of the "necessary" jumps signed off on paper though. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I own and have used both the Pro version and the standard version. They are both great. Personally, I prefer the standard version, but it is just a matter of personal preference. See my review of the standard model.

I bought a bunch of used gear from a guy who was getting out of the sport. I was mainly interested in his rig, but I bought everything he had, including a used Digitude. I decided to jump with the Digitude just to make sure it worked before putting it up for sale. I liked it so much that I statred jumping it all the time, until someone bought it. Then I went out and bought a new one (actually, two new ones). I buy and sell new and used gear on the side, and I loved this altimeter so much that I got set up as a dealer. These are great. They are light weight, have a low profile, and can be used on night jumps with the flick of a switch. They can also be turned on at altitude. Very easy to read the display. You should get one.

I've used Super Bandz without any trouble, but I do know one guy who had a bag lock when he double wrapped the locking stows. I single wrap the locking stows and double wrap the rest of the stows, and I have yet to experience a problem. I jump in central Ohio, where it is always sunny and warm (not). I stopped in for a visit and a few jumps the other day, and had the time of my life. I found the staff and the "regulars" to be equally friendly and helpful, and had no trouble getting in on 8 and 9 ways with some very talented jumpers. Despite the steady pace (jump, pack, jump, pack, ...), the atmosphere was one of fun and relaxation. And there was plenty of activity to watch (turf surfing, etc.) in between loads. This is a first class operation, and I plan on going back again soon.

Interesting. Did you try to contact Unfeathered or the manufacturer? I've had good luck (phone and email) with Unfeathered. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I get this on my rigs all the time (from duct tape). It comes right off with a damp sponge and Goo Gone (available in several places, like discount stores, grocery stores, etc.). CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

I jump a Tri too, and it slammed me 3 or 4 times before I came up with the "solution". Here's what I suggest: 1. Use Super Bandz. 2. Use 3" line bites. That's the length of my little finger, and that's how I check them. 3. Roll the nose (4 times) and quarter the slider (especially over the nose). 4. Stay belly-to-earth when you deploy. Don't look up as you deploy. Works for me. CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
