Just because of trouble landing? Have you gotten several videos of your landings to diagnose your problem? Many just don't use their wheels (legs) effectively, not putting their feet down under them enough to support weight on touchdown, instead putting them out in front where they can't work. For some reason I have seen a lot of girls have trouble like this. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. If we lived at the right time, we would have been able to witness certain events that would be proof. I don't understand why proof was available then, but is not available now because it would deny faith. 10K foot runway! They could have an engine fail at 1000 ft and put it back down without a turn! I'll bet there are some benefits in terms of maintenance facilities there also. It is a world market. Doesn't matter who China gets it from as long as they aren't boycotts against selling or buying from certain countries. The war was not about oil, but the global economy depends on the flow of oil (unfortunately but so it is). Remember not so many years ago when tankers were getting attacked in the Persian Gulf? That sort of shit can put a lot of people out of work and worse. Then we'd have everyone asking why we didn't do more to protect our national interests. piecing together a rig - renting seperate gear ??? (canopies)
sundevil777 replied to heidihagen's topic in Gear and Rigging
I've heard that square one will let you use one of their rental rigs after you've ordered new gear/while you're waiting for it to arrive for free. But that only applies to those at their location. However, perhaps if you order through a local gear dealer that has close ties to your DZO (or maybe the same person?) you might be able to work out an arrangement. Maybe you won't get the same 20% or whatever off the retail price that you might usually get, but will save more by not having to rent. They have an interest in you continuing to jump at their location, they have your gear business, and you're not as rough on their gear as a new student. Just catch them at the right time, be polite and not demanding, and you might sweet talk them into it. Pricing - Main Cutaway and Reserve Handles
sundevil777 replied to Elisha's topic in Gear and Rigging
I think the manufacturers should offer spare parts at a reduced price at the time you order your gear, and not just the handles, but a freebag and PC also. Sportbike rider/canopy pilot parallels
sundevil777 replied to Hooknswoop's topic in Safety and Training
I think that motorcyclists that have learned on the dirt have a big advantage. I think it is a good thing to be able to try jumps, powersliding, brakesliding, wheelies, bouncing over obstacles, and lots of other such manuvers on the dirt. Then you might be more likely to be able to handle it when it happens on the street. Sure they're repairing and improving the runway, but I gotta wonder if it is worth risking it again. Did they do the whole runway and taxiways so well that there is no worry ever? They should move it at the coldest part of the day. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Is it likely that it will not ever land at Perris again, but instead stay at the nearby airport? I'll bet the flights to Rantoul will be very interesting. A big load of jumpers free to run around in a big jet with no stewardesses to tell them to behave! How is the interior equipped regarding seats, stowage bins, etc? Was it already a cargo plane? Don't know which DZs might still use rounds, but some would argue that a round deploying next to another canopy is less likely to entangle, although that argument is somewhat dampened by the PC staying attached, compared to the freebag of a square reserve. It seems that you think it is better to ignore the current situation because they might be able to change their look sometime in the future? We would be fools to ignore the current situation. Your position would make it easier for the next group to do it again with guys fitting the same profile, because you intentionally choose to ignore the profile that fits now. I want them to have to go to the trouble of recruiting punk rockers to do their acts, anything to delay and slow them down while we hunt them down and take them out. The fact is that they continue to do it with guys that fit the same profile. Good intentions and political correctness has completely taken over with this sort of view. Skylord and the Hop 'n Pop Deal with Each Other
sundevil777 replied to skylord's topic in Safety and Training
If you were learning in an area that had a lot of low clouds much of the year, such as Seattle, you would face the choice of getting your addiction fixed by doing hop n pops from an altitude approaching 2000, I mean of course it was at least 2000, that is the min pack opening altitude. Really, getting out at 5000 is not low, you'll get used to it. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. If old blue haired grannies were doing it, then I would want them to be profiled at airports, etc. But they are not. It is not just race that is part of the profile, it is age, gender, and other factors. Tough luck for those that fall into the profile. What can we do about Skyride?

You don't want your rigger to have to struggle. They should look forward to packing your rig because it is correctly sized (somewhat unusual lately). Also, the rigs that look good are that way because they are not overstuffed. It is very dissapointing to have a rig you've spent so much money on that looks too fat, with flaps that don't work quite right.
