Very nice, Thank you for putting that together. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Uhhh....... Can't we all just get along......................? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

No. You see it as something that simple and draw a conclusion, what a suprise. Prescription drug abuse happens to all segments of society, Republican, Democrat, rich, poor etc. Anyone with sense could see that, it's some on here making it an issue, and by the way HE'S DEAD. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Wow, And the point is....................is it hard to be perfect? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I'm not 100% sure she got the car, but about 99.5% I've gotten creative as to what the person gets arrested for, when I've been put in similar situations. A "drunk in public" beats a DUI. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

The same thing happened to me, the results weren't nearly as bad luckily. I stopped a woman for an obvious traffic violation, when I approached her she obviously had been drinking. As I got her out of the car another car pulled up behind us, it was this womans husband. They both start begging me not to arrest her, she had just passed her CPA exam that day and they had been celebrating. She had the paperwork showing that to be true. They seemed like the average hardworking young couple that needed a break from me. He had been drinking too but didn't seem impaired, I gave him a couple simple field sobriety tests and he passed with flying colors. I told him to go straight home and come back and get the car she was driving in the morning, he parked her car and they left in his car. About 20 min later I went back to where her car was parked and guess what, it was gone. They lived some distance away and there is no way anyone could have come and gotten the vehicle except her. No good deed goes unpunished, if she would have been in an accident it would have been MY ass. This happened over 15yrs ago, because of this I never give a break on DUI's, if a driver is impaired they get arrested for something, so this situation never happens again. If it was only that easy. I've arrested people for DUI and they have blown .00, it turned out to be something other than alcohol. Also, in my state a person can be convicted of DUI even if their BAC is less than .08. The .08 is not some kind of magical number, it is threshold that an average person would, per se, become impared not necessarily guilty. A 100lb woman who normally doesn't drink may be below .08 BUT, still impared enough for a conviction, doesn't happen often but it does happen. These people are no less dangerous than someone who is above .08. I suggest you contact the nearest law enforcement training center near you, and ask if they teach DUI detection. They may offer the opportunity for you to drink under controlled conditions, then let the students perform field sobriety tests on you. In the class I took we had cops, doctors, lawyers, professors, etc, all drinking to varying amounts. If was fun as well as informative. I've also drank and had students test me, either way a win-win and free beer! I work in the inner-city, I don't do alot of DUI's neither do my men, but I understand the modivation of the officers and departments that do. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Hey. Eight Cincinnati Bengals were arrested in 2006, some on mutliple counts. Ever think about being the retainer counsel for a pro sports team? Big bucks............. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

It's policy for our officers to wear seat belts. I tell my officers they are much more likely to be killed in a traffic accident than by any other means. I take mine off on the way to any dangerous calls, in case I have to exit quickly. I can pop my seatbelt off in less than a second, if I have to exit my vehicle quickly without notice. I practice doing that often, so it just becomes second nature. Lucky is one of those guys who doesn't like cops. I live by the 60-40 rule: Roughly 20% of the population really doesn't like cops, I just have to deal with them and move on. Another 20% will back up cops pretty much on anything, I like them It's the 60% in the middle I truly try to please, they are normally pretty reasonable people and will listen to reason and make sound decisions. They also make up the majority of a potential jury pool. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

True observation. The .08 drivers usually are not the high tolerance types, they are impaired but normally think they are not. That's what makes them almost as dangerous as someone with a high tolerance and high BAC. I drank and was measured by an intoxilizer during a class, at .08 I was pretty buzzed, and I drink probably more than I should, so I have some tolerance. Once I gave a breath test to a guy who smelled of alcohol very bad, but he was walking and talking somewhat normally. You could tell he had been drinking but he did'nt appear smashed. He blew a .35, I was stunned, I gave him another test just to make sure, and sure enough .35. I asked him what he drank and he stated a 5th of Jack Daniels earlier in the day, he also stated he was a severe alcoholic. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Congrats!! What a nice way to re-up, sure beats a coffee cup and tee-shirt......... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I think the police not doing the right thing here is a given. It's like a chain of events that lead to aircraft or skydiving mishaps, break one link in the chain of bad decisions and the mishap (usually) won't happen. The main question here is one of intent. I doubt very seriously the cops wanted this to happen, I understand how this happened, the NYPD needs to look at why this happened and they will, along with paying a hefty civil judgement. All these actions should be a question of policy and training, not criminal intent. The "head-on-platter" crowd wants just that, politics will be the main factor if these officers are criminally charged. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Supposedly when a F-22 pilot was asked what it was like to fight an entire flight of F-15's, his reply was "it's like clubbing baby seals"....... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

The type of danger................duh........ I was born in July does that count? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I've posted previously on the human factor unique to police work. The comparison between the dangers of skydiving and being a LEO are really not very comparable, both can be dangerous but the danger signs and factors are different. The danger in police work involves the human factor, in no other line (except being a soldier) of work does the danger come from something that can conspire against you, formulate a plan of action, and change that plan depending on circumstances. All these factors play into the danger of being a cop. Urban cops put themselves in dangerous situations daily, imagine having to use your emergency procedures daily. I'm not whining, just asking for better understanding. Statistically it is more dangerous to be a farmer than a cop, but the human factor makes police work inherently more dangerous. I've seen this video before, I'd venture to say the cops themselves set up the camera. It is a bad situation all around, the guys family will get a big settlement and this will be used as a training tool. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Video Is a Window Into a Terror Suspect’s Isolation

Sadly I do get it, I don't have to use examples that are maybe, just a little, somewhat slightly over the top. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

That's right! I'm saying the same people who are arguing for a suspension of major portions of the Bill of Rights are the same ones that would have been hanging the niggers and burning the witches. Every society has a good number of such people. It's up to those with a greater capacity for rational thought and ability to see further down the road to stop them before they destroy what you state you want to protect. Okay, I've seen some really big stretches in SC, but this one takes the cake!! I'm hardly a neocon, I never insulted you, yet you direct completely outrageous comments toward people who disagree with you. Rather than engage in a (somewhat) civil discussion you rant and insult, that is typical for someone who can't make an actual point. Your comments indicate that you feel intellectually superior, I'd at least expect something a little more clever. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
