I could never imagine my area cable carrying a skydiving channel. One step at a time, I would be surprised to even see a regulary scheduled one hour program on skydiving on any sport channel! Let's face it, the only time we see skydiving vids on tv, its like the one from outback jack, or reality tv's lingerie jump or some mishap.... just my 2cents... marc

We were on that first jump with you, ladyskydiver, and with HeatherB too! Cool! Both of us got in around 8 jumps, 6-12 ways... Kansasskydiver Chris came by zhills and had some fun melting under the florida sun, did a bunch of freeflying with Pip and John and got to know the dz.commers and the bomb squad....and is at the wind tunnel tonite with Martin and Sally coaching! Looks recent....they formed a round....they had to censor some boobies that slipped out of a top! One landed in the peas, wearing hi heels! Where was that? Had dry looking mountains behind them... marc

Definitely take the boat ride up the bosphorus river, leaves early am with a stop to get off and have lunch in one of the many nice restaurants, returns late afternoon. get it by the ferry boats. Go to the classic turkish bath after that! For sure, the 2 major temples...the blue temple and Hagia Sofia (both next to each other).Blue temple has a light show everynite (free). Topkapi palace is the MAX! Unbelievable! MUST SEE! Don't miss the treasure room....I have never seen such large and elaborate jewelry. There's a neighborhood filled with seafood restaurants, all are great! Hot apple tea is nice even on hot days. Everyone drinks it instead of 'turkish coffee' the worst part was everyone trying to sell you a carpet! I loved Istanbul.....it was the center of the roman empire. there is a monolith that was the center point where all roads led... Evidently, the movie WAS filmed with lots more graphic action, but the studio forced it into a more general rating to attract the summer crowds. The director was already promised a 'directors cut' version for the DVD release.

There's a couple decent ones off fowler by usf.... but I have yet been to any type of asian restaurant in Florida that can match what is available on the west coast (or nyc, chicago, washdc). I envy you guys for that!!! mp

You will be kicking ass on ole folks in Sarasota? That's quite a spread (between 5-15K), hope you get the higher end of the range, especially since you have lots of experience. Hold on there, then the world population would be shrinking now, right? For example, My 8 great-grandparents only had 5 great-grandchildren! Now that you mention it, I do remember a 'HappyThoughts' highway somewhere outside Eugene Oregon.....

It is truly amazing how the body heals itself, although the schedule it sets is beyond understanding! When you have multiple injuries, some heal up fast (often the injury that you thought would take the longest heals before the 'smaller' injury), some hang in there for months, some heal but the pain returns from time to time.... In May, I got hit by a motorcycle while walking down a street in India. Alysse saw me flying through the air, roll 3 times then hit a wall. Amazingly, I got up and was still able to walk around! I guess my PLFs are pretty automatic by now! Over 2 weeks later had an MRI and found a break and a ligament torn around my knee. I am grateful to my guardian angels that I am alive (although they must have been looking the other way for a moment when the motorcycle was zooming around the corner!), and it has been interesting to see how it is healing..... I am glad that you all are healing well, and posting on dz.com. Time seems slow when you can't get around, but before you know it you will have passed through the worst and then have to psych yourself up to jump out the plane again! Marc

I had one last month for my knee, I only had to put my legs into the tube, from waist up I was out of the tube....I wore a pair of earplugs, and ended up dozing for most of the process. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Marc

We were camping there awhile back, and went on a two hour hike from a parking area, and found ourselves among a large group of mountain goats. It was soooo cool! Then we walked back to the car, and the parking lot was full of more mountain goats! It was a nice walk anyhow.... Sounds like a great time at Lost Prarie! marc

Now THAT is an example of the deep philosophical discussions around the muff trailer with you that I enjoy SOOO MUCH!!! Now if I could just figure out my way around zhills' backroads....I stopped to get a map at that store on chancey and 301, they didn't have one....but now that the flat fliers get to sit at the otter door, I AM getting a better view of the terrain however... see ya, marc

Be scared be very scared! Actually, it is a lot of fun. You learn the sacred muff ritual chants on the ride to altitude, then wear a pair of earmuffs on the jump with Johnny and any other brothers around.
