YEEEEHAAAWWWWW!!!! Lets see...i live in Alaska, and you are coming up for the Boogie, and....I live in a house in the middle of nowhere (with no ambient light). hmmmmmm...I'M GONNA GET LUCKY !!!!. Oh yeah, is being light out 24 hours a day considered ambient light????
-
Nope. you can book it when you get here. Just remember, if its a really nice day, try to go out then. Book as soon as you get here so you can be on one of the first loads. Last year, we had 2 days of PERFECT weather. THen the last 2 days was a downpour. I sneaked into a slot for the Glacier when another jumper decided to do it later in the Boogie. He never got his chance because of the rain. How long are you gonna be up for? Just the boogie? Or make a little extended vacation out of it?
-
I'll be there....Oh yeah, i live only 8 miles from the DZ.... Make sure you BOOK the GLACIER JUMP ! ! ! ! ! !

Thanks...Guess i didn't have the FLash Player. Your link directed me to it. Thanks, JC

Can somebody help me out with Perris's website. Making a business/skydiving trip next month. Can't find their webpage. All i get is a Perris Valley Logo on the screen. Nothing else. Help JC

Let me be the first to welcome you to Alaska. I've jumped at 22 different states, 30 DZ's, and Alaska by far has the best scenery I've encountered. Just the Glacier Jump itself during the boogie is awesome! Do the Glacier Jump while you are here, I would be willing to say that almost NO OTHER jump could top that one. No sense ending this thread just yet. Here is my contribution... -
First of all... It is VERY important to remember that your puppy is a "baby". Period. Just like a human baby, don't expect him to be pottytrained in just a coupla weeks. Won't happen. The key is to take out the puppy until he does his business. Once he is done.... praise him and take him inside immediately. A puppy that young you may have to take outside every hour or so.Even if the puppy doesn't appear to be ready to go potty in the house, take him outside until he does it. Just like changing a baby dozens of times a day, you'll have to do this for the puppy. You will be well rewarded after a couple of months and you puppy turns into your son's (and your) best friend. Don't give up or get frustrated. I know two months sucks...but the reward of having a best friend for your family for a dozen or more years afterward far outwheigh the potty-training stage! And yes, the crate is a very good idea....but i STRONGLY urge you to have the puppy free roam when somebody is around. Don't keep the puppy in the crate while you are all home. He will think that he is punished. The only exception is to keep him in the crate at nighttime while you all sleep. I've had over a dozen dogs (4 now), and i believe this worked well for us. Good luck AND DON'T GIVE UP!. You'll hurt yourselves and your puppy. If you get rid of the puppy when he is almost fully grown, it is very hard to adopt him out to another decent family. By then, he has lost his "puppy appeal".

I used to be a cop ! I still have my uniform.....and to top it all off...i STILL love your name !

I always make her the Amish girl. She wears a bonnett and I insist on her learning Dutch. She hasn't learned it yet...but who really cares when she is dressed like that saying "Da ! Da! Da!!!" As for me..she wants me to be the construction worker and I'm pounding her with my jackhammer.
-
No, she didn't wear a uniform, but her brother is in the Marines. The pic that you have of Sandra Hubby..she also tried to get into the Marines, but the recruiter made her feel like a bimbo. She is actually a very smart woman. The sister that I dated is just as pretty, but VERY down to earth. They have a farm in Norton, Ohio. Our first date was....skydiving! Took her out for a tandem.
-
I dated your NSFW picture's sister. Just as hot, even tho she is 10years older.
-
That was about the stupidest comparison I've ever met. Listen, You never answered my question. Why not ban skydiving. There are 30 people every year that die in the United States. They don't die of old age! They die doing what they love. Your best bet is to stick to the things you know, not be an expert about something you have no knowledge about except what you read in PETA ads.And yes... I own "FOUR" dogs! So don't try that dog lover thing with me. My dogs are treated better than most people treat their kids.
-
How many people will die skydiving this year. Should we ban that? I was very misinformed about the Iditarod until I moved up here. I figured that the dogs were getting punished and tortured...until you see the dogs.... They are happiest when they are running. Something you just can't explain unless you see it first hand. Kind of like skydiving. Most people think we're stupid...but they just don't understand that its in our blood.

I'll wager that it gets into the 80's here every summer, and that the winters are a whole lot better than most that I've had in the Midwest. Less snow, less humidity, less wind, etc..... Don't knock it till you've tried it.

I've had Jeff King from the beginning.

another eagle pic...plus more pics of Alaska for those of you who've never been here...and those of you who have and miss it.

The lady in Homer is an exception. She is designated as a "tourist attraction". She's been doing it for sooooo long that the authorities won't tell her to stop. They know that it brings in large amount of visitors to her town.
-
Here is one pic of her.
-
send me your private email. I have one of her with her lead dogs...can't really see her face, but as her sister, you should know who it is. I only have one or two. Did she run in last year's race. If so, I'm SURE I have pics of her.

I live in Alaska now....I originally came up for a 2yr contract with the hospital. After my first 2 months here, I decided to stay at least 5 or 6 years. After my first year and a half (now), I'm thinking more along the lines of 10 years or so. I was at the start of the Iditarod and I believe i took pics of your sister, if indeed she was the first musher out of the gate. We got great "seats" at the very start line for the second year in a row. If I get a chance, I'll look and see if I have her pic. Ok? Blue Skies, John

We've got so many bald eagles up here they are like pigeons. There is a lady down in Homer they call the Eagle Lady who feeds the bald eagles everyday at 10am. She literally has "HUNDREDS" of them eat out of her hand. I'll try to get some pics next weekend and post them. Here is the only one I have compressed.....
