I feel a little better today...only cried about 10 times. Unfortunately, i had to hide if from the patients (i work in a hospital). They don't need to see that crap. I don't think anybody saw...which is a good thing. Strange how i see patients die weekly, and it doesn't affect me nearly as much as my Chief. People were asking what kind of dog Chief was: He was part Black Lab, and part Akita. He was a big 100lb lap dog. He looked pure black lab in the summer, but in the winter he got his winter coat and he turned very soft and golden...he looked like 2 different dogs. But I knew that he was the same...he was my beloved Chief. Looking back... I gave him a great home. He was a stray and i spoiled him rotten. He loved me and i loved him. I guess that is all that matters in the end. I want to thank EVERYBODY that answered to this post. You all made me feel much better. When Chief passed last night...the only thing i thought about was crying to people that i don't even know....skydivers from around the world. YOu all lent me your time and condolences and I appreciate that more than anything ! Too all who lost their pets before...my condolences go out to you, because now i know how you felt/feel. I always said that skydiving was my 2nd reason why i am in the sport. The first reason is because of the skydivers themselves. I hate to get mushy...but thank all of you again. Blue Skies. John Life is not measured by the amount of breaths we take...but by the moments that take our breath away.

Thanks for all the shoulders. I really need them. I appreciate all of your kindness and prayers for Chief. I think I will go cry myself to sleep... Damn! I'm really fucked up! Blues, John

thanks... i can't stop crying. He was the only member of my family. I'm bawling now. I am absolutley devastated....HOw do you get rid of the guilt? The vet tells me it was time...but the gf tells me that it was way too soon. She loved him too. But, she makes me think that i did do it too soon. How long before the healing begins? He was such a good dog. All he wanted was to play and be hugged...a 100lb lap dog. bummer....

I need many shoulders to cry on. I just had to put my dog "Chief" to sleep. He was fine yesterday..we played catch. Last night he started having grand mal seizures and had them all day today. My girlfriend told me that she would have waited another day to make the decision, but once the vet saw him, he definitely said he was in pain. It took 3 of us to load him in the car for the ride to the vet (He was 100lbs).He was soooo calm on the way to the vet. He was calm on the table (from being exhausted). And he was calm when they gave him a sedative. When they gave him the pentathol, he started fighting. I feel soooooooo guilty. He was the only thing i had. He was my family. I sit here in tears, and can't get rid of the guilt. The bad thing is that i don't know if it was time. It was like walking a tightrope. If i waited any longer, he could have gotten worse, or he could've gotten better. I have soo much guilt. He died in my arms with me telling him how much i love him. Damn ! ! ! ! I can't stop crying. Please lend me your shoulders. Blue SKies Chief, John p.s. Daddy loves you.

yes...for all of the uneducated bashing police officers...maybe you should look up the "cell-phone" guns that have become popular with gang-bangers. They have cell phones that can fire 4 .25 cal bullets. Should the cops wait to see if they get shot at first? So, all of you bashing police..maybe you should search "cell phone guns" and see what i mean. And the answer is "yes"...they are very popular. Just like the Pager gun, and the "pen" zip gun. blues

I've been cursed. I always thought that i was an OK looking guy until the old age and the extra 20 pounds crept up on me. I look just like Chris Elliot (Cabin Boy, Something About Mary, Dave Letterman's Man Under The Bleachers, TV sitcom "GET A LIFE". ) If i lose the weight in my face, maybe i'll be ok again. Anybody know any facial exercises besides smile...frown...smile...frown...etc.? Blues

I had the privilege of working at the Cleveland CLinic Foundation (although I hated the place), and there are probably too many to remember. I never was the type to be starstruck. I think the people i've met actually enjoyed "normal" conversation, and not the typical thousand questions that are usually asked of them. Here are just a few:(i did testing on all of these) Drew Carey (did his Stress Test) Senator JOhn Glenn and his wife (did their tests) The King of Egypt King of Saudi Arabia Crown Prince of Jordan (now the king) King Hussein of Jordan The pope of the Greek Orthodox Church The Admiral of the Egyptian Navy The King of Qutar Numerous other Prince/Sheik/ Princesses from the Middle East Jeb Bush Linda Carter Bernie Kosar (Browns) Vinnie Testaverde (QB) Numerous other professional players from the Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavs, and Rockers Les Paul (along with an autograph) The "Bob Evans" (of restaurant fame)(he let me hunt on his property the following winter) Art Modell Al Lerner Pitts Pirates Owner People I've met at the local bar Mitchell's Tavern; alot of sports players hang out here cuz nobody bothers them: Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Cavs all-star)(lush..there almost every night) Alex Rodriguez (I sat drinking with him at the bar one night for about an hour and I didn't even know who he was) Jim Thome Omar Vizquel blah...blah...blah....too many to name Larry Wilcox ("Chips") Mr. T Don King Mike Tyson about 20 country singers: Vince Gill Pam Tillis Lorrie Morgan Alan Jackson Billy Dean Garth Brooks (met in Oklahoma) blah...blah...blah.... You'd be surprised what these peoples reactions are when you treat them like a "normal" person. Sometimes they are pissed (especially with royalty), but sometimes they are grateful.... I always figured that they put their pants on the same way as me... Blue Skies

hey bro... first of all for helping.... second, it was actually a PD210 (I'm kinda slow on the downsizing) loaded at 1:1, and it was a D line as Clay has stated. Beer for EVERYONE !!!!! Yahoo!!! About the packers...i usually pack for myself...but every now and then i feel like somebody else should do it (because I'm feeling lazy). Never had a prob with these packers before...Call me nice...but I still am not even mad at the packers. I'm more Happy that the rigger took care of my Reserve when i needed it. THat is where my energy is focused. Blue SKies, and Semper Fi's unlucky1

First cutaway....paid a packer 5 bucks today to pack me a really nice lineover. He usually does an awesome job.....usually. Anyway...after 3 hours of walking around in swampy woods I found my canopy and freebag. Thanks to Clay also....he spent plenty of his time helping me look. Strangely enough...i didn't even feel adrenalized during or after...it was almost matter-of-fact. Glad its out of the way. I did buy a case of the expensive stuff.... BLue skies, unlucky1

12+ soldiers un accounted for.... 4 executed on Al Jazeer TV ..
unlucky1 replied to rhino's topic in The Bonfire
CNN just showed a pic of the American Soldiers bodies in a "pile" on the floor. THey showed them from the neck down so we couldn't see their faces. They reported that the video they have showed the soldiers being shot in the foreheads. CNN says they can't show that footage....i think we know why. I wouldn't want to see it anyway. -

CNN just posted a pic of the dead American soldiers and said the video was too graphic to play on American televison. They also reported that they were shot in the forehead on Al-Jazeera TV. -

There are things in life called "rules of war". We (the us) try not to kill innocent civilians. All means are taken to ensure that nobody who is innocent dies needlessly. But for a soldier to put a gun to a POW's head, and pull the trigger...you can "justify" that?!?!?!?!? SO, what you are saying is...that if that is ok to play on television, than the U.S. troops can now take the 2000 Iraqi POW's and kill them one-by-one on television..... After all, you do approve of what they are doing. -

No fun when the other side fights back?!?!?!?!!! Would you really call EXECUTING 6 soldiers on live television "fighting" back???? Last time I checked, we didn't line up the 2000 Iraqi soldiers that surrendered, and put a bullet in each of their heads on live TV. We feed them, shelter them, clothe them, and give them medicine. It is called the Geneva Convention. Obviously, the Iraqi troops aren't "fighting" anyone. They are executing people. -
because of my dislocating a hip on my 25th jump, i changed my plate to UNLCKY.
