  2. Absolutely. I didnt think that old geezer I was playing against was ever going to let go of those last few Chips!! Some good action all night long. Updated Standing?? I want revenge! C U next week DZbum . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  3. Yup. Happened in England a few years ago. The drogue bridal got caught under the TM's neck and he went unconcious. They spun until the cameraman caught them. Not sure if he moved the bridal (doubtful) or just pulled the reserve but he saved them for sure. Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  4. The PARACHUTIST cover archive has just had a nice expansion thanks to Garth Taggart. He scanned in 19 PARACHUTIST covers and sent them to me. These are all issues from the 1960's. If you'd like to see the collecion, go here: http://manifestmaster.com/parachutist/ Thanks Garth! . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  5. This link has PARACHUTIST magazine covers as far back as 1963 http://manifestmaster.com/parachutist/years.html If you can fill any gaps, scan the cover and email to me at musgrave@manifestmaster.com . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  6. About uploading videos and asking permission..... This topic probably belongs in a separate thread but... depends on the video. For one skysurfer (or one boob flasher) you should probably ask permission but I don't ask every diver on an 8 way for permission. I'm sure a lawyer will say otherwise. Good luck with your videos. Looking forward to seeing them. Be safe. . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  7. At our DZ, the video guys work independently from the DZ and from each other. We charge $85 for DVD video and 'pseudo digital' stills. Out of that we pay for our dive ($23) and do our own editing, burning, mailing, etc. 'Pseudo stills' are still images taken off the video (yeah, fair quality but it works). - Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  8. 1). Be safe 2). Have fun 3). Teach at least one novice jumper to fly . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  9. I made about 60 solo jumps out of our club's 140 a few years ago. Just removed the door, climbed out on the wing feet facing the tail and back facing the prop. Put my right foot on the step, left hand on the wing just above the flap and rolled off keeping a low profile away from the tail. Great for single jumper demos and just jumping for grins. As I recall, to be legal, we also had to post a sign on the dash which read SEE OPERATION MANUAL FOR FLIGHT WITH DOOR REMOVED. For some reason, that made it legal. I'll see if I can upload a video clip of a 140 exit on my web page. Have fun . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  10. So how does realXstream get paid? Is there a fee per jump? Initial start up cost? Also, when the jump is over and the footage is uploaded, we just give the passenger the web site address and walk away (ie. no DVD)? Went to their web site and couldn't find answers. . 11. Here's the video http://manifestmaster.com/video/psycho_pack.mpeg I got it from skydivingmovies.com which appears to be down for the moment so I posted it on my web page. . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  12. I used to jump my Cherokee 140 regularly and legally. We had to: 1). Post a placard on the panel which stated SEE POH FOR FLIGHT WITH DOOR REMOVED (something like that). 2). File a NOTAM for parachute jumping (location, altitutude, times, radio frequency) 3). Have the pilot wear a parachute . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video

  14. There are 2 others Cypres's for sale on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Cypres-DOM-12-96-skydive-skydiving-cypress_W0QQitemZ7195113255QQcategoryZ106980QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem DOM 1996 and http://cgi.ebay.com/Expert-CYPRES-Reserve-parachute-release-system_W0QQitemZ7194787150QQcategoryZ91561QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem DOM 1998 So one unit has 3 years left on it and the other has 5 (if I did the math right). But again, neither ad mentions that these units will expire at some point. Is it the seller's responsibility to point this out? Food for thought. . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  15. Like Dale said, buy a discontinued Sony model and save major $$$$$$. I jump a Sony PC-105 which I bought new. Since then I have bought 2 more off eBay for under $500, both new with full warranty. Great camera, easy to use, easy on the pocketbook. . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  16. I use a Pinnacle DV-500 card. It can capture digital via firewire but also analog inputs (like VCR's). Bought mine on eBay for $100 and have used it nearly 3 years with no problem. But it also works equally well to capture analog video from your VCR to your Sony miniDV to your computer (just pass the signal thru your camcorder....no need to record and play back). Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  17. There's an interesting comment in the first indcident report in the November PARACHUTIST (p 63). "At 900 feet, there was barely enough altitude for reserve inflation even if the deployment had been initiated immediately with a reserve static line or by manually pulling the reserve handle." My Stiletto and Pilot canopies open in less than 500 feet at terminal. I would hope my reserve would open faster than my main. Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  18. Need more info. What's your OS? Windows? Windows XP? What's your connection? Firewire? USB? Does other software recognize your camera? Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  19. I couldn't disagree more. I've listened to every show and I think they're a great team. . . . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  20. It seems as the years go by, pull altitudes are getting higher. I can remember doing 4-way rw and breaking at 3500 and pulling at 2000. Old USPA recommended 'pack opening altitudes' were 2500 for A and B licenses, 2000 for C and D. Seems most RW dives (4 to 12 divers) break between 4000 and 4500. Pulling at 3000 means you've turned, tracked, waved off, and pulled in 5 seconds. I doubt you've tracked very far in that amount of time. I track like a madman until 3000, then wave off and pull. Gets me in the saddle around 2000. I'm usually the low man but I've tracked far from the crowd and away from any canopy traffic. My 0.02 Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  21. It looks like the eBay ad is legit but the Dropzone.com's ad is a scam. Especially since the price is just $850 but the text description is identical. He's registered as Joseph Taylor but of course there's no information on him. Hey you moderators, isn't this enough info to delete his ads and cancel his membership on DROPZONE.COM? BTW, nice pick up on the part of 2cmyzx. Way to go! Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  22. http://manifestmaster.com/video/ Not spectacular, just fun. . . . Doc Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  23. It sounds like there really might be a difference between Premiere 7.1 and Premiere Pro (just a guess). I say this because when using PPro 1.5, you CAN click the red record button and use SCENE DETECT. Plus it works without starting and stopping the camera at each new scene. Can't think of any other reason that scene detect doesn't work for you. . . . . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
  24. I use Ulead Movie Factory 3 (version 4 is out but I'm still using version 3). It works very well and I think registration was like $19 (or maybe $39.... cheap enough). I use Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 to create a final AVI and Ulead to author the DVD. Works for me. . . . . Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
