Yup, winter sucks!! Just got back from the WI Dells, the other Chicago suburb (only 3.5 hrs away)... (sub)urban sprawl sucks!! And makes driving horrible. Besides the fact that a sudden 20 degree drop in temp makes everything freeze. frost bite in less than 1 min today is what the news man said. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Yup, here in chicago, the high is suppose to be -1 w/ a windchill of -22. My hair froze on the way to the train today (didn't get it COMPLETELY dry) - ugh!! This, I hate. I can't believe how it's like 15 degrees colder in Montana... how can people LIVE in that!?!?! PS. you people in florida SUCK!! I get it from my parents, brother & others. My s/o & I plus 14 other people have rented 2 houses north of the Wisconsin Dells today through Sunday... jacuzzis, skiing, bar hopping lotsa fun! yahoo... no worrys bout who'll not drink so they can drive. Right there w/ you Kevin. There were numerous times when my s/o told me to shut up cause I couldn't stand a car like that being in that setting. Planes, bah, the Nautlaus fitting in the canals of Venis - arrgh. But once I got past the historical problems & enjoyed it for the story it was... I LIKED it. Putting all those great characters together had a plesent outcome. oh, BTW, the fake Nazis were on all the right roof-tops cause Dorian Grey told them where to go. Just like reading the book 1984, we know that stuff didn't happen, but take the book for what it was. Soon enough, it'll be the year that Back to the Future was set in & we still don't have flying cars... stories are just that - stories. In addition to using a middle man, you could have the seller sign something to this fact & fax their sig to you (a faxed sig is as valid as an original). "I, (name here) have received check number XX in the amount of $xxxxx as payment for the sale of (insert goods). It is my understanding that the purchaser, (name here) will have the item(s) inspected. Upon direction from the purchaser I may cash said check. However, if no word to the contrairy is received from the purchaser or their agent before xx/xx/2004 (give yourself at least 2 weeks, depending on your weather & ability to check out the rig), it is understood that I may cash said check." signature I used this, that way incase they skip town you have their money; but if it ends up being no good, you can't just go willy-nilly & cash the check. Typically the new number they give you is almost exactly the same as the old one. IL gave me a number w/ 1 digit diff than the old FL one. My mom has resigned herself to the fact that I jump. She doesn't like it really, but it's better than smoking crack or something. That said, she now LOVES coming to the dz to watch the pretty parachutes coming down from the sky. And when I go to load the plane she gives me a hug & kiss. If I do a big 820 spiral @ like 2 grand she think it's really super cool & how brave am I. I think you'd be surpised how good moms are @ the dz. Just don't stay too late @ the party. On a side note, a diff day; my brother & dad walked up to the dz right as I was landing. That & the perfectly beautiful day... they both decided that they just HAD to do a tandem. Now they understand -

It completely bothers me for like 2 seconds when someone's voicemail message says: "I'm unavailable to answer your call at this time..." My fam lives in Lakeland, right between Z-hills & Lake Wales. They love Sprints coverage. But sometimes, out in the boonies it goes away. Unfortunately, I love AT&T - had them for 5 years & they're the best!! Sprint customer service is top o the line in my opinion. HOWEVER, in Chicagoland the coverage is very sketchy & there's huge parts (like most of lincolnpark) where it don't work at all!! If you can afford it, most phone companies have a week or even 30 trial period. Sign up for one a week, try it out everywere; call customer service w/ totally benign questions. Then make your decision to switch to them. I'm thinking of switching to AT&Ts GSM service, but am afraid it won't work @ the dz. Right now, I'm one of the only people @ hinckley that has reliable cellular coverage out there. Not that I use it that much, but when you NEED it, it's good to have it. There is no can't.
