heck yah!!! When I was in AFF, I over heard a potential tandem student on the ground sayin how cool skydiving looked, he couldn't wait to do it. Then he said - "I bet it would be awsome while rolling." I couldn't believe it!! I asked him to please do a few jumps sober before considering adding anything. A few hours later, he thanked me... why add to the already almost uncontainable fun? I've known some very experienced jumpers that will go after a few tokes or sips of alcohol. I'm exiting after them though! Def not something to condone, but honestly I'd swear some of them act more sober when doped up! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Out my work window I see Lake Micigan FROZEN!!! It snowed a few inches the last cupel of days, then droped to below freezing... so now there's a few inches of snow w/ ice on top Gosh, I can't wait till March when all this sh*t melts & everytings a messy muddy mess! Batteries are def a necessity... I feel like I should buy stock in Duracel or something. Yah, I'm lucky w/ no headaches. I get bout 1 a year & since I'm not use to them, I crumble like a man. But my poor b/f gets NO rest!! That really sucks for you. A lot of women in my fam get serious migranes (2 have had surgery to relieve them!). Good luck! Hope light medication helps. don't i wish... but no, no smoking @ all for me. This weekend, I held an unlit cig for like 3 hours. Actually put it to my lips, pretended to take a drag & blew out the pretend smoke.... pretty sad, but it got me through the night @ a club where EVERYONE was smoking. There is no can't. That sucks to hear!! Good luck on staying quitting this time!! Welcome to the club! I started smoking when my life took a wrong turn. I recently quit (3.5 weeks). I've been depressed for teh same amount of time I smoked, but think the depression more caused the smoking, not the other way. No matter, recently my life's taken a better turn (skydiving included) & so I'm a little less depressed. But now that I've quit, I'm more depressed - like hmatousek, could have to do with winter blues I HATE WINTER!! but I've also noticed that I get drunk more easily. I use to be able to drink at least 1 bottle of wine before getting a buz. Now I have one glass in a 2 hr time frame & refuse to drive!! I'm glad they moved it. There's a reason it's called women's only forum. Certainly men are often invited to put their 2 cent in, but it is not called the "pick women's brains forum". It is for our discussion on matters that affect us. hopefully if you post a serious thread in talk back & let it be know that is how you want it kept, that's the way it'll stay. it has happened before & will again. Sorry if this is heavy handed. I agree w/ freeflybella bout not posting private info - hopefully people would know that anything posted can be ready by ANYone. However there are things which sometimes should be addressed to women; as it is, some educated men have very valuable insight & we welcome their input - but it's for our discussion. Yup, Mel that is amazing - great people! Even when I met Roger, he was wonderful to me & a fellow new jumper visiting in Dec 2 winters ago when CSC had closed for the season. The parties sound fun. Will have to check it out I guess. Yes, AndyMan, I know it has a huge landing area. But I get sick of walking what seems like at least a quarter mile back to the hanger w/ my 190. Beside that, crazy people land everywhere. At CSC there are hardly any swoopers/hookturners. Great to know bout the pond & being kept clean. I LOVE water & really believe that's all CSC is missing. I worked as a grocery store bag girl in high school. I saw kids from my school go through w/ their parents w/ food stamps. Their house was nicer than mine, they dressed better & then they were buying better food. AND I WAS BAGGING IT. These people didn't work, the teenage kids had children. Parents are the biggest factor in the way a child grows up. My parents taught me to fend for myself. A good work ethic & to be cheritable where cherity is due. To well off families, everyone knows that a pampered child (Paris Hilton for example), will grow up expecting to be pampered. How bout the flip side, a child that has been raised w/ the gov't paying for everything has a great chance of expecting that on an on going basis. Fine, feed needy children, give them health care. But make someone responsible work for it. I mowed lawns when I was 6, washed cars for longer than I can remember. If they have parents, make the parents do something. Instead of the workers of America volunteering their time, have the people being fed free food help feed others. That way people generating the tax $ don't have to lose profitability & the people spending tax $ have something to give. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. I'm in 100% agreement. Countries that have free rides typically also have a MUCH higher tax rate. No thank you, that's why my ancestors moved here. As for our military spending, if we could get people to sign up as suiside bombers, then we could decrease spending A LOT!! I paid 100% of my college tuition, and had to share a room w/ someone paying less than 10% - to me that's BS! If you want it, work for it. I do. I'd LOVE to get section 8 housing status so I could live in a nice highrise on Lakeshore drive minutes from down town. Yes, big is good... but SO BIG... that can be a bit difficult to handle . I've never directly met either Rook or Missy, but from a distance, they do seem to be wonderfully delightful people.
