I've been fightin a cold for over a week...I think I have pneumonia (is that something you should see a doc for?) and starting this morning I have sorta lost my sense of balance...I keep falling over for no apparent reason. Oh well, off to work...

I've never been a big fan of alcohol myself...of course I'm only 17

I agree with you. I never really thought about it, but if I decided to have a kid(s) some day, I would hope that I would be able to afford to put them through college first. With all the oportunities for scholarships and grants and such, they would probably be able to get in anyway, but knowing that when all else fails, you can help them out is important.

This is DEFINATELY a toast you would want to give before you got toasted...although it would be hilarious to watch a drunk guy try to say that...let alone remember it!

I had always wanted to jump, and my mom tends to want to do anything that a "normal" mom would never do. She did a tandem the same day I did my first static and we were both hooked. Neither of us ever planned to do the full student program...but...well...I think we all know how that goes

That's right wlie, what are moms for??

I was doing the delays last month, and I had a similar problem. Mine was that I was sticking my arms to far up, on my 10 second delay I actually did an unintentional backflip on exit. I corrected it and pulled stable but it was a little freaky . 5 second delays are a biatch though. I got lucky and got passed it alright, but they are absolutely the hardest part of my progression so far (besides the 2 week wait between jumps). One of the things that helped my stability is that my DZO drilled me on the arch position on the ground. I would hold an arch laying on a creeper for 10 seconds, relax a few seconds and then do it again. Muscle memory is very important in this sport. If you can get someone to help you get into the right position on the ground, practice that and I garuntee you it will be easier to do it in the air. It is uncomfortable as hell on the ground but it works. Good luck and blue skies

Those were repulsive. If a girl like that jumped up on my lap in the nude and asked for sex I'd be like F&*^ nO! AHHH

Unless the hunters dart gun is like my 4yo nephews dart gun, then the dart absolutely has to hit the monkey...

LOL yeah no kiddin, hate to get hit with that rock. And Wendy...I am just glad I don't have your teacher...

Ok, I have a pretty simple physics test on trajectory motion. I am almost 100% confident that I will ace the test but I was hoping maybe someone could give me a problem to solve. I think the problems will be something like this: Billy shoots a rock from his sling shot at 72m/s at a 43 degree angle. What is the time of flight, what is the max height that the rock will reach and how far horizontally will it fly? -------------------------------------------------------- Edited to add: Time of Flight: 10 s Max Height: 123 m Horizontal Distance: 526.6 M Am I right???? -------------------------------------------------------- drag and such will not be factored into the problem...I haven't learned how to do that yet. Come on guys! Gimme a hard Q!

At first I wanted an Infinity just because everyone at my DZ jumps them (well most everyone) and they look really cool, and they are manufactured in the DZ loft! But then I asked around and everyone that had theirs custom made absolutely LOVES them! They are really comfy, pretty much made for freefly, great riser covers, very sturdy. You can pick up the rig by the main pin flap and it will NOT open. They do really good work, and have great customer service. The student rigs are all infinity at my home DZ. Overall they are an excellent buy. I plan on getting a new infinity as my first container when I have the $$$$

Ya pulled at 235.6955 ft.......approximately.

Hell no, not in the weather you got up there! I just might do that over the summer actually...

I haven't heard the details...(news at 10). Every year at least 1 student dies at my High School. It looks like this year isn't any different. I was hearing rumors throughout the day, and I just saw the preview on the news. Two Freshman at my High School died. They aren't sure yet is it is a murder/suicide or a suicide pact. Of course it is still rumors since they haven't released names yet, but I may have known one of the people involved...scary shit.

Good Info If You Want To Learn About Skydiving
Casch replied to Casch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I figure a newbie skydiver isn't going to get screwed up much with the misinformation. Most of the info is pretty accurate...accurate enough for someone that is planning to go tandem anyways. -
Lol, hey if the rig is that bad, why doesn't he just give it to me?
-
LOL I watched that vid over and over. I show it to my friends...funny shit

I think your ex needs to go skydiving, otherwise she'll never understand. And I also think that everything she mentioned is a product of one thing, skydiving. You made a jump, something you always wanted to do, you loved it, then everything else fell into place...drinking, piercing etc...

I don't know if this site has been posted before (I searched and found nothing...) but I thought I would post the addy. www.HowStuffWorks.com is such an awesome site. It explains in detail how damn near EVERYTHING works! And at the end of every article are links to other sites that offer even more info on the subject. Just that y'all might find it interesting/helpful. It even has an article on skydiving (except the guy calls all P/C's Drouge's, and some other minor inconsistancies)
