Blue Skies, Black Death (Roger Nelson)
Raefordite replied to SkymonkeyONE's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
Prayers and thoughts to Missy, Rook, Roger's family, friends, drop zone, all those he impacted directly and indirectly in our skydiving community. I'm sure it will take Skydive Chicago a while to restructure, but I am confident they will remain a viable force in the skydiving industry in his memory. Also prayers to the other involved skydiver. He/she will need our community support as well. -

Tisk, tisk Mr. Kris......what are you doing asking for another man's cannon? -
Way to go Coconutmonkey! Recruit! Recruit! We need more skydivers in this world.

Tut is in the house! I picked up Little King Tut this evening from the vet. He was very happy to be leaving! He nestled into his doggie car seat and slept the 30 minute ride to the DZ. Once there, he greeted all his human and doggie friends in usual fashion. He even chased the 4-wheeler around the landing area for a bit. He will still be on medication and a very bland diet for the next 4 days. After the excitement of returning home, a light bland meal, Tut is sound asleep. I'm sure it will take a day or two for his energy to return. Thanks to all for the care, prayers and concerns! Now if I can just figure out what he ate to prevent it and the $140 bill that went with it again!!

Independence Day Dotcommer Gathering At Raeford

Yes, we have a few different types of fireworks. The tradional go to town and watch the fireworks is in Raeford. I will need to check and see what evening. I would guess Friday. Then if you really want to get your heart and soul into some serious whoa, you have got to go to Fort Bragg for the 4th of July event. It ends with a fireworks show that is put to music which is great. My favorite is either the presentation (which takes about 20 minutes) of all the US state flags or the music played by the army band with the final ovature with real cannon fire. -

OK everybody - this is serious - Mouth is threatening not to join us Go get her everyone! PM her until her box is full! Use what means you have to! -
Start with those that never fail to over extend your credit. Get a Sears card, get a JC Penney card and go buy something with it. Pay it off at the store the next week before you even get a statement. Same, same with a gas station BP, Shell, etc card. Then in a month or so, try again!

NO not the Billy Burger diet! That's harder than the Atkin's Diet

The vet decided to keep him another night. Little King did get a small portion of baby food down, but nothing else. He is still refusing water. After a full liter, plus of IV fluid, who would be thristy? If he doesn't start eating/drinking by this evening - he gets a new cannula for IV (since he chewed up his last one) and a particularly attractive cone around his neck to prevent him from chewing the next one.
-
Thank you to all for the concerns. I just got an update from the vet. Little King Tut has gotten about 1 full liter of fluid via IV before he chewed through his IV line early this morning. They still feel he is dehydrated and replaced the line to get him more. Mind you this is only an 18 lb. dog. He is still refusing food and water, even his favorite treats! If he doesn't started drinking/eating by this evening they will start some diagnostic tests in addition to the physical exam he has already had. I'm hoping since he had the smarts to chew through the very thing that was hurting his leg, he should be on the mend.

Little King Tut is our drop zone dog at Raeford. He goes to work to SKY KAT every morning. He and Billy Bob are great dog buddies at the DZ. Yesterday evening a bad case of vomiting, diarrhea and you would not believe the gas this 18 lb. dog could produce, started. It appeared he found something to eat he shouldn't have. Unfortunately the nausea, vomiting have not stopped. The vet kept him to hydrate him with IV therapy, a little IV sugar to give him energy and a medication to stop the nausia. After 150 ml, he is feeling no better. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts!

Cool! We hope to see you 4th weekend! -
http://www.l-and-b.dk/indexf.html The above is from the manufacturers web site. You may very well have a faulty unit. If you do, call or take it back to your dealer. They should exchange it. But before you bother anyone with a call, check out Larsen & Brusgaard's web site or e-mail them. It sounds like your unit is on economy mode. I have had this happen to a few others. It is easily fixed. Also, refer to your manual. Mads Larsen is outstanding to work with. They stand 100% behind their products for customer satisfaction. Give it a try!
