  1. How about starting a new thread? Unless I have been following from the start, when I see a thread as long as this one, I usually pass it up.
  2. Go Dad!! I especially like the photo of you two together.
  3. Very nice. I sent them an e-mail to get prices.
  4. Good for you! The best of both worlds and you get to build up your frequent flyer miles for those really important skydiving trips. I would never move to Detroit. Based on the weather, cost of living and crime rates, I could think of a few hundred places I would rather be. Good luck!
  5. http://www.jumpraeford.com/Patterson2003.htm Ok folks - go check out the write up and photo's about this event!
  6. Glad he hasn't lost that smile! Give each other a hug - and home soon you two!
  7. Home from a busy fun weekend. Lots of stories to tell. Horseback riding for an hour through the 1400 acre trail. The food was FREE & beyond description it was so good, the accommodations were perfect and the staff great. I can't wait to do this again next year. I'll post a link to my write up when I have it done. Time I hit the treadmill to burn a little of the hot fudge brownie I ate last night at dinner. Nope, I had fruit pie with topping the evening before after dinner. Or was it the strawberry shortcake with lunch today....maybe it is the barbecue chicken and fix'ins from yesterday. Anyway, I hope something burns off on that treadmill.
  8. My vote is for SkyMonkeyOne!! Between his flames for power, his harley for cool points, his monkeyness to get into and out of trouble, and his dog BillyBob for the "soft" side of his personality - he would definitely do well!
  9. Jake: No need for a reservation, but bring a pillow and sleeping bag. The dorm will be open and bed available, but no sheets or pillows. Great news - looks like about 30 - 50 fun jumpers are confirmed attending in addition to my tandem master slaves! Yippee! See you tomorrow
  10. Let me guess, some think it is cool, a few more just don't want to know and then there are those that make sure you feel unwelcome. But I bet this skydiving pastor gets all the calls when a skydiver wants to get married in freefall!
  11. Sounds like your tunnel rat friend is way ahead of the power curve. Two points for him! I just hope he remembers he only has 90 jumps when it comes to canopy choice and ability to exit an airplane.
  12. I would welcome an area or tent at a boogie to have this available for those interested. Well said DHL & Quade.
  13. A good example of our dollars for membership at work for us at USPA! Great news.
  14. Good news, another skydiver! Problem is you will both need second jobs to pay for the double rigs, double jump bill, double cases of beer! What a great problem to navigate through.
  15. Bad news. I hope he recovers and is back on schedule soon.
  16. Damned if I could recall that. Brodie-wadie, somethin-somethin-Brodie, I couldn't get it. Thanks!
  17. Now on to the balloon jumps. At is time they plan on 2 jumps. 1 Saturday evening the other Sunday morning (Maybe another one Sunday evening) The balloon will climb @ 750 per.min. w/2,000 lb pay load. The tough part is the pilot bringing it down w/ only 1 person on board. They will launch the balloon far enough up wind to get altitude and be close to the exit point. This is a little different but they know it will work.(trust me the check is in the mail). So make your balloon reservations now! Looks like the price and altitude is as above. PM or find me somehow!
  18. Get the container. It will it last longer than Rantoul. Your container will still be around when you make that last loan payment. Plus if you manage to spend $3000 at Rantoul, you most likely won't remember anything but a hangover each morning from the expensive champagne you drink.
  19. BRING IT ON! And yes, I was yelling!! Yippeee! Mouth - sorry honey, I dropped the "s" Should have read "I just left a number of drunk monkeys at Raeford." As in more than one drunk sky monkey..... But I especially like the drunk monkey name. We shall have to ask SM1 to reserve it for a special person. Which reminds me, has SM1 blessed Kris with Dammit Monkey name yet? No RV hook ups that are 30 amp. Bring a 110v extension cord. We can at least get you that. These guys are excited to have us all there and more than accommodating. Great people. NO charge for sleeping in the dorm - bring a pillow and sleeping bag. NO charge for extension cord plug in. Remember this is a fund raiser. I have promised $2 per jumper to go to the school and have reduced my tandem rates so they can make money. The more you skydivers jump, the more I can donate! Anyone interested in a hot air balloon jump? The price is $100 to 7 - 10,000 ft. I am working with them now to reduce the altitude to 5,000 ft, possibly lowering the price. What do you think? I have only jumped a hot air balloon once, $60 to 5,000 but that was 6 years ago.

  21. So sorry to hear about Jeff and Mile-Hi. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family and friends. Thanks for recognizing DZO's and staff. Kate Griesser DZO, Raeford Parachute Center
  22. Michele: The Smart reserve is a very good reserve. It used to be the Tempo by PISA. PISA company was purchased by Aerodyne. Aerodyne completed new drop tests, etc. to meet FAA regulations for the new sizes now offered. However - the consumer response has been overwhelming for Aerodyne. Orders are a wee bit backed up. But the company is doing their best to catch up with the demand. http://www.aerodyne-int.com/sport/default.asp[url]
  23. Mouth - I just left a number of drunk monkey at Raeford. Not surprising, but added three more folks to join us in Lenoir. I must know now if you are attending and want a slot on a balloon for a jump. I am not sure of the cost. I am checking. So - everyone - let me know if you are coming and what accommodations you are looking for so I can help you out! blue skies! Kate
  24. Personally I think you should move this poll to the Women Only and see what height male the ladies prefer.
