  1. I haven't seen it~ Give me a summary!
  2. Wash in cold water, gentle cycle. No woolite (sp? - the stuff you hand wash things with) or Tide. Remove it immediately from the washer when done. If it sits in the washer wet - that is when the colors bleed the most. Hang it over a rack so the colors won't touch. DO NOT DRY! Sorry about the size, but if you try to shrink it, it won't work. The thread and binding, velcro and mixed fabrics will all shrink at different rates. If that much too big - have it stitched up by a rigger or local stitcher. Good luck!
  3. Yippee! Congrats on the "paid" rig. Of course the bank will loan you more money!
  4. These are all tandem jumps with para's and low level quads. We have also worked with a few higher functioning multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy folks. It is wonderful to give everyone a chance to have a little fun!
  5. Be safe John. Keep your head down See you when you return.
  6. Since we are expecting the FAA to be lounging around, I doubt jumps from a tethered balloon is, lets say,,,,,,,available. However, I understand their is a 10 person basket that will be launched for skydivers!!! I am not yet sure what the charge will be. I'll get back when I know!
  7. The landing area is very large. As large if not larger than most DZ's. However an A license is mandatory, I strongly recommend at least a B license holder. There will most likely NOT be room for extra jumpers and friends to join us on the aircraft. Sorry, I need to take a lot of equipment and staff and a max weight for the Twin Otter is limiting. However - if interested in car pooling, e-mail me and I will try to coordinate folks riding together. 8. Chad: If I may put both my skydiving hat and my physical therapist hat on - here is my opinion. Take it for what it is worth. We have had several paraplegics and other neurologically challenged folks do tandems. We have a simple way to strape their legs in so not to be a problem and more injoyable for all. No injuries, no problems, just lots of safe fun. However, spina bifida is different. A quad or para has a STABLE spine. By either nature or surgery. Here is the definition of Spina Bifida by the Spina Bifida Association of America I'm guessing your friend is not a severe case. Just the same, the big question is how stable is the bony spine structure surrounding the spinal column on your friend? On an exposed spinal column, dropping a quarter from 10 inches above is enough force to permanently paralyze an individual. I would hate to land wrong, arch too hard, twist too much the wrong way. With the quads and para's we have jumped with, all have landed with a butt slide. Sometimes that slide is a bump before a slide. Meaning a shock through the tail bone into the spine. Not a problem if your spine is stable. These are thoughts I am sure your friend can think about and answer himself. If he jumps - enjoy the hell out of it and have a great time. If he doesn't - enjoy the hell out of life and each day it brings you!
  9. You mean you haven't 'peeked' in there?*** And you shouldn't either.......
  10. Skin - what a marketing tool.
  11. http://www.uspa.org A great resource! And welcome to the sport.
  12. Thanks. I did reconfigure it so it asks me before trying to upload/download. I hope once my present work is complete I can get all the information sent. I know they have recognized the problem with dial up (like I haven't ) and will hopefully add to the software so I can manually tell it when to go get and when to give me more! Thanks for the help
  13. Thanks for the update. Prayers and good thoughts go to both jumpers and their families.
  14. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=458296;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;guest=992278 Sunshine - go to "Short Notice but worth it" thread for more details about May 2 - 4th weekend. Come play!
  15. http://www.pattersonschool.org/events/upcoming-events.asp I know this is short notice, but lets get a bunch of skydivers together to raise a little money!! The fund raiser is for the Patterson School. Raeford Parachute Center is moving it's tandem operation to The Patterson School 4646 Patterson School Drive Hwy. 268 Lenoir, NC 28645 for the weekend of May 2 - 4th. For all up jumpers, the cost is $20 per slot, RPC is donating $2 of every jump to the school. They will also have a hot air balloon to jump from! http://www.pattersonschool.org/events/ArtsAndCraftsFestival/General%20Public%20Flyer.htm A dorm will be made available for sleep and showers, bring a sleeping bag, etc. I'm sure camping will be allowed. Contact Raefordite (Kate Griesser) at Raeford Parachute Center for more information! The Patterson School is a private, non-profit, co-educational, non-denominational, multi-cultural boarding and day school for grades seven through twelve. The Patterson School is dedicated to providing family-oriented college-preparatory education for the development of the whole person. A Patterson education develops skills, knowledge, experience, and attitudes required for a student to get into the college of choice and to be successful and happy in his or her future life. Instrumental to this success is the development of seven qualities which form the foundation of a Patterson education: Knowledge, Reasoning, Integrity, Courtesy, Health, Creativity, and Versatility.
  16. Ok, I sent this e-mail and have not gotten a response. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! I have two completed WU's that have not sent results because of periodically online. Is there a way for me to manually send you results. Or manually initiate a transfer of information? 17. That's one way to get it off your chest. Why don't you try talking to that person? You might be surprised...... or just confirm what you already know.
  18. OUCH!! Shaving and clorine pools do not mix well! Good luck with the meet
  19. Cute pup! Why do the animals we own start looking like the owners? Or is it the owner look like the pet?
  20. Riddler - what do you think they do with the "John Doe" bodies? Those not claimed or unknown ID. They store for 7 years, then are purchased by the medical schools. So make sure you carry your ID and clarify what you want done in writing - like a will!
  21. http://www.uspa.org Hello! Be sure to thoroughly check out the USPA web site. It may help answer a lot of your questions and direct you near London. Keep us posted once you jump.
  22. http://www.pattersonschool.org/events/ArtsAndCraftsFestival/General%20Public%20Flyer.htm http://www.pattersonschool.org/events/ArtsAndCraftsFestival/First%20Jump%20Tandom%20Flyer.htm RPC will be the host for tandems and any up jumpers that want to join us. It is a fund raiser for the Patterson School which is a boarding private school 7th - 12th grade. My thoughts exactly - that's why I'm going...control skydiver gods around 7th - 12th graders! Obviously the tandems will be parents, singles, locals, etc. to raise money for the school. Not the under 18 years of age group jumping. It is a beautiful place!
