It's quite obvious you don't get it. Lemme explain it simply. There are men and there are women. It's a women's forum. I like to hear other women's experiences in a women's forum. If i ask for someone's advice (which i have in the past) i totally listen. But men that have nothing better to do than browse through a women's forum is kinda tacky. Hrm, maybe i should go bitch that it's unfair to have a skydivers with disabilities forum when we don't have a skydivers with no disabilities forum. Your right, I just don't get it. I guess it is because I am tacky. Many use the forums as a break from work, do you? The thread topic was an eye catcher that's all, I even said I don't really want a Men only forum I just don't get your attitude. I understand that you want to hear the women respond, I get the women's forum keeps out the one liners, I even get that more women are likely to respond if you post it there. What I don't get is how a man's advice means less because of the gender. ~Chachi

Actually my buddy owns a stock ZX9R that is a very very dark purple, you know the one that looks black sometimes and other times other colours. But not a bright purple or anything from what I know. ~Chachi

Interesting. Saying i'm a man hater cause women relate to women's issues better than men... BTW, nobody ever asked for advice in that thread. Angela simply stated that it seems to be a common belief that woman aren't good canopy pilots. Men just jumped in and started giving advice that was never asked for. Actually it was a post and a discussion ensued and Tonto and others added into that discussion. They even followed the forum rules and everything. But because they were men, the information meant nothing to you. That I just don't get. ~Chachi

That's exactly what I was saying. It was a great thread until a man put some opinion into it, that comment just completely baffles me. When it comes to this sport I take coaching and information from every single source possible especially in the area of swooping. I figure I can learn more if I listen to everything. I wonder how I would get flamed if I said I only wanted coaching from a man, cuz women don't have anything useful to offer. I think I would be flamed big time. I really just don't get the I want it =, but I don't really thing. ~Chachi

...anyone can be as slutty as you if they continue to pay freaky girls. at least the moose was free... ~Chachi

I also wish there was a man's forum. Thing is i dont' think any of the men have nicely asked HH for one. Most times i've seen it mentioned is when they were bitching and whining. No I don't actually want a Man's forum I just don't get your man hating attitude when it comes to guys just offering there $.02 when it comes to stuff they have a clue about. Especially when the advice comes from high jump number coaches and instructors that have seen the same things you women ask advice about. ~Chachi

You know mostly it is out of shear boredom, I don't even read the BF whining threads even. Only the ones that seem neutral. In those cases I have maybe offered a word or two with respect of the way the forum was intended. I'm done with it now though. The only threads I will reply to now are the ones in the discipline forums. ~Chachi

LOL, DOm, your just getting me back for my comment on the "slut test post". or maybe you didn't see it yet. ~Chachi

so that I can tell women that are trying to pass on valuable information that because it came from a women it means nothing. Fuck it, guys. Why post anything useful when you will be told that? Because you would like to stick up for women and dispell myths? Because you really believe a womens forum is a great idea so women don't have to sift through the one liners and bullshit to get real information? Who cares, your information is not wanted. MY POINT This may seem bitter but I have always respected the women's forum rules and posted in a very moderate way ie. only posted when I thought that I really had something to add. Now I think HH shoulld not allow men to post and the ladies can go have a great time without the men. Way to add segregation to a sport that finally allowed women to compete head to head and along side the men. ~Rob

HELP ON CANOPY CONTROL-MY LANDINGS SUCK
chachi replied to VampireGirl's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
not so much. that has more to do with the canopy no longer being able to withstand the opening shock and less to do with a mushy flare. In BASE jumping you jump, open parachute, fly the parachute and then land the parachute. In Skydiving you jump, play around in the air, open parachute, fly the parachute and then land the parachute. No they are not the same. The biggest difference is the risk factor, but for the purpose of this topic they are similar enough to make a comparison. More like green apples to red apples. Maybe so but not everyone needs to be so readily giving it. I made all of my student jumps on used up Raven4s which are 282 square feet. I stood them all up except for my first one and that was because my instructor flared me a little high so that he would have a little more time to scream "flare!" in case I brain locked. The used up Raven4s I made my student jumps on had around 1500 jumps on each of them. They flared just fine. I believe your advice is biased because you are against the use of all F111 canopies as you said earlier. Again there is nothing wrong with VampireGirl's canopy. If the problem can be fixed with the canopy she has then she's be better off spending her money on jumps (=more experience) instead of gambling a $1000 - $2000 on another canopy (ZP) when the problem she has may possibly be fixed by a rigger in -
actually I care. It may not be a forum for unsafe unsmart reserves but it is or is fixing to (after I reply to Bruno) become a thread for one. this reserve issue strikes more interest in me than just about anything I've read in any of these forums. And since it is >only< swoopers jumping these extremely highly loaded reserves then I think this forum and thread pertains. then it would be better suited for you to start a new thread instead of spiraling other threads if you feel like discussing it. this quickly became an attack Bruno thread, and while i don't thinking some of Bruno's choices are the best playing back and forth in here is getting annoying. ~chachi

Not a pissing match, that would be if I was angry. Just a clarification. Anyway, I'm handling in per Bruno's request, simply because he can't get away from a conference call to follow the thread; I'm sure he'll post later. He's more into this canopy control stuff than I am. The only reason I'm responding is because he and I both wanted to be clear as to what he does and has, and he couldn't deal with it at the time. I don't really care and neither do the other's in this forum. This is not a forum about special waivers or whether Bruno jumps a reserve that is safe or smart. This is a canopy control and swooping forum. Can we please try and keep these posts to the topic at hand and not about the ego's around here? ~Chachi

"You should practice up high" High Performance Turns
chachi replied to LawnDart21's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
You are going to crater, I am sorry to be blunt but a 270 approach with your experience is ridiculous and in no way a safe manouver. I have (not nearly enough) 700 jumps and fly an aggressive canopy but still havent touched 270's because I still can't do the perfect 180 10 out of 10 times through the gates. You are skipping massive amounts of steps and havent begun to explore the things you should be. Go read the thread about the guy that dies under a manta 280, PLEASE? ~Chachi -
HELP ON CANOPY CONTROL-MY LANDINGS SUCK
chachi replied to VampireGirl's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
butt BASE jumpers do not jumps canopies with 800-1100 jumps on them that have no landing left in them. this I know. we also have canopies designed with extra brake lines simply to assist in shutting them down. BASE and skydiving are not the same, please quit trying to compare them. also people who are in BASE have or should have exceptional and above average canopy piloting and landing/flaring skills. you are comparing apples to oranges. everyone should solicit advice and do exactly what she has done which is digest it and ask a qualified coach at her dz to answer all the wonderful questions that she has. ~Chachi -
Well, shit...why didn't you say so? Now I get it. For crying out loud I was coming home from Vegas last week and the British chick on the plane next to me is telling me how she spent a fortnight out there? What the hell does that mean? She went out in the desert and made a fort to stay in for the night? Those are your ridiculous measurements, not ours. See, even you think your confusing. ~Chachi

You lucky lucky girl! fuck that, you lucky lucky guy, lol. ~Chachi

Do you smoke drugs a lot? KG is Kilogram an interchangeable measure of mass, volume, and weight. It is also the standard that everyone in the world uses except the USA. Why? who knows, it is easier to do math in the metric system because everything is divisible by 10. A kg is 2.2 lbs. A kg is also exactly what a litre of water weighs. It is so much easier but the US always has to screw something up. ~Chachi

oh stop it.... ~chachi
