    '03 Dodge Dakota, quad cab with a V-8. I did very little wrenching when I was a youngster, back when you could climb in, pull a couple nuts and bolts and swap out pretty much anything.     Cool, good morning, yeah, cleaning it up will be the first. Hopefully take care of it. My concern was I didnt think it would get all crazy with the lights like it did unless it was the alternator and had no time to clean it up yesterday. Aint no auto parts store near here either (like 60 miles away) i'll get my ass away from this nice warm fire pretty soon and go clean it up with the wire post cleaner upper thingy I bought at WalMart (they were open Easter Sunday) yesterday and hope that works. I'll let ya know if it works, I know ya'll are waiting to see Oh and someone at work (da bambulance) suggested I "find" some bicarb and douse the connections....     Truck wouldnt start, jumped it, drove a few miles and lights flickering and flashing, brought it home and stole the wifes car. Battery connections/posts are a MESS!! Come morning I'll clean up the connections but wondering, sound like battery or alternator?? I figured alternater with the light show as it was but after seeing what a mess (pretty wet too) the posts/connections Im hoping its just the battery Yeah, Im an idiot.....what ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

    Well, they've overflowed the Coliseum today to honor the officers ... and there were only 60 yahoos out there Wednesday to "honor" Mixon. At least most of the community has its priorities straight. I'm sure OPD is far from perfect, but this guy is no hero.     EXACTLY my experience. 26 jumps, same landing pattern without deviation for 25. I was more looking at where I was gonna turn as opposed to where I NEEDED to turn into the wind. Realized I was coming up short of that final turn, cranked hard on the right toggle at 100 feet, and like Wendy described, pretty much dropped like a rock under a big ass 260. Broke the fibula in 2 places. It was absolutuly a case of not being prepared to adapt...correctly. ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

    Well, the wife did it I think with that turbo tax thingy and looks like we owe something like 3 or 4 grand so a co worker suggested a tax preparer place and looking at like 250...     Ditto that. I have a cheap handheld programable I use at work. I work in a station and keep it in my room. The fire department usually gets dispatched sometimes anywhere from 2 seconds up to a minute before we get toned out so it gives me a heads up on calls (really nice when ya gotta do "whatever" before running out the door for god knows how long) anyways, I also have CHP and a couple other channels on it (up to 200 programable). You can pretty much google all the channels for your area....handhelds nice because you can take it wherever..... ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -

    I'll have to say yes. Dying, that is a scary ass thought. There are just so, so many different ways it can happen. I see a lot of death and dying at work. Some peaceful and painless. Some incredibly painful and violent. A lot of it seems to be simply relief for those that pass. A lot of folks have time to think about it as it approaches and a lot of times it just surprises everyone. Myself, again, yes. The "process" of passing no matter how it happens scares me. Maybe because it is such an unknown. Now as for being dead, no, not at all. No matter what death brings, whatever, this life deal is at times awesome, and at times completely sucks so whenever, whatever..... ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
