  1. you are exactly correct - but, even just looking at all the posts other than yours on just this one thread, and inferring what the average person REALLY wants to hear (i.e., bashing of the other side as pure evil and rationalization of anything on their side as perfect and wonderful) what do you think will REALLY happen? (hint - it'll a quade/mike exchange with occasional snide comment from the gallery and then puctuated with the blatant racism/bias of frequent wslc postings) - I don't see much other than safe talking points from either group with calculated attacks when the handlers think it'll score more brownie points from the fanatics. The fanatics don't care about winning, they care about total humiliation of anyone that dares to disagree with their petty political religion - so the attacks will be frequent and childish and served up for a low IQ audience) ... 3. is the canopy manual on the manufacturer's website I always start with the actual instructions and see how it goes before making changes I don't see the canopy manual here (only the container) but maybe it's in here somewhere - http://www.parachutesystemsusa.com/hurricane.html (I took a 5 year layoff over a decade ago - when I got back we were then into zero p fabrics and much more agile canopies - I was very surprised that rolling the nose was pretty much deleted from packing - but now it makes sense) The PD manual for packing ellipticals is on their website for reference. ... A/C's (especially window ones vs. trailer specific ones) draw a lot. should switch to a very thick gauge camper extension - park it closer to the outlet - and get on a single fuse ... 6. It's really amazing that number of features on FF and RW outfits that are advertised for performance. Except for wingsuits of course. Those suits don't do anything for performance. 7. Right, REAL athletes skydive. At this point - a photo montage of fatty skydivers is warranted - but I'm just too lazy to do it. Please, all, use your imaginations here. ... 8. Nope. It is simply an accurate description of an Hispanic neighborhood watchman. I, for one, applaud you for the use of the term in a manner that neglects the clear connotations of the word in this context as a clear gesture of respect for the english and spanish languages and in deference for latino cultures as well. Surely you would be very comfortable using the term 'gay', 'negro', etc as sterile unemotional terms as well in any environment or any group of people. this is very fitting also, since Speaker's Corner absolutely NEVER has semantics-based pissing contests by people just trying to win some minor point on a matter of impotent subjective triviality. golf clap Edit: Actually, I kinda find the wry application of 'groceries' and the dorky application of a neutral 'vigilante' reference kinda funny However - it's pretty much equivalent to calling George by the name "Jorge" - so a deduction for quality points there (unless it's a mockery of the "Jorge" stuff - then I'd add points) ... 9. the horizontal 'terminal' is just the end of the throw portion (that point where the asymptotic approach to velocity body completes - the difference in the body to air mass is negligible). so it's either zero (relative to the air mass) or it equals the uppers (relative to the ground) everything will complete the throw portion - given enough alititude - for skydivers, even Anvil - it's short enough lived but worth understanding. (I know as a late diver, it matters if the base tumbles (I'll have a steeper dive since they had more throw) than when it sails off nice - for example) I have no idea what the one poster was arguing with Kallend about - it was a complete fail - maybe we'll hear an amusing rationalization involving coriolis effects or something ... 12. I don't much care what they wear. But, if they personally choose to wear something that degrades their performance - that's too bad and they can't whine about others or force them to sandbag to 'make it even'. I thought it was hilarious when the snowboarders in the last olympics were wearing baggy suits on so-called "speed" or racing events. What a joke. When (bad) fashion takes precedence over performance, clearly they aren't 'real' athletes. Snowboarding or volleyball - they deserve derision and mockery ... 19. not evil, but a bit complicated and kinda fun I'd think that the pill and viagra, though, should be on the same page - pay for both directly, pay for both indirectly, but keep them equivalent. It's about as analogous as one can get. The pill might actually win out over the viagra - it has additional applications in terms of regulating health even for non-sexually active females. If viagra had some type of analogy for generalized men's health (regulating blood pressure or the like) then that would do it too. But if either is issued JUST for the purpose of play time, then that's is a good debate - necessity vs optional is a good subject on any product or procedure. I only have issues when something optional is allowed unequally to one demographic over another. 23. I don't find that perfect, it's a great benefit to attract valuable employees. The perfect world would have this option, but the employees would be able to add options to a very basic plan offered (it would only have to be very clearly defined) and then who pays for the extra would be a matter of employment terms and negotiations. I think restricting the options for extras would be out of line though. That's a possible common ground. that, or even ensuring that the employee would also have the option to take the employer contribution directly and find his own plan, if he chooses. I'd think a small adder for the naked woman option would be just fine - depends on the woman though. ... 24. I thought your below was the better comment and good for reasonable debate. It outlines a position on basic coverage without the whole "war on women" rhetoric. Me? I'd rather let people choose for themselves as individuals, not the employers, etc - but then they have to pay for the coverage selected. I tend to talk to what would be a good final answer, not about diddling around in current flawed systems - it's a more interesting discussion and less subjective to regional culture and preferences. ... 25. Well, I don't want to pay for a triple bypass, either for myself or for another. Should employers be allowed to declare that a triple bypass is offensive to them, and stop covering it? employers can declare that, but I suspect they'd have a lot of employees leave and go to work for the other guy that does offer that benefit ...
