Obama (finally) declares support for same-sex marriage.

meh - that's just the way the wind is blowing the guy right now he's pathetic government should stay out of it and let individuals pair up however they like ... simple- if you don't like someone on the right - color them as the stereotype of the evangelical wacko - that includes righties that are only fiscally driven and mean well and understand about economics if you don't like someone on the left - color them as the stereotype of the 3rd generation drugged out welfare nut - that includes lefties that have jobs and mean well now I can look forward to the predictable crack where people claim the descriptions to the right of the hyphens don't really exist ... Big point here - If you are a big boy (or girl) and supporting yourself, then you make your own choices. If they give any support (money, lodging, etc) to you, then it absolutely is their business - like it or not. If they are grownups, then they get to do and act however they like about your decisions. If they are really obnoxious about it, then sit down and have a frank discussion. Suck it up, you don't need their approval. Take your lessons (or not), do a good job (or not), and your decision will either be validated over time or not depending entirely on how safely you are in the sport. Kids and parents have disagreed on personal choices for the entire history of humanity. Wait for about 3 decades when the roles change and you think it's your business to care for them......that'll be fun. They'll either: come around some time and watch you eventually, or; if it's a really big deal for them, they'll eventually ignore your hobby as their way to deal with it. ... recall the hockey player that skated up behind the other player and swung his stick like a bat at his head. I don't recall if the guy on the other end was permanently disabled or killed. fun thread on the topic linked below - I recommend cross training with peice partners for single and double slot switchers. And identifying those key formations that are friendly to slot switchers. engineering just take someone familiar with this and able to figure it out on a dive by dive basis. Sometimes you get lucky and those slot switchers will just unwind themselves...... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1847321#1847321 post 19 of the thread is the one you are looking for. so - your dive 19-16-5 (every one is different) 19 is a non-switching block (the point piece on 19 is a potential swing move out of the bottom since it's long - but it's not a super easy one) 16 would be a single slot switcher that actually lends itself to either piece switching - though a normal continuity would typically still have it in the point piece - depends on which way you spin it 5 would be a double slot switcher just running it with the switch in the front on 16 and the double switch on 5, would have the front end unwinding between 16 and 5. Thus only the tail piece would have to remember the full flow of 12 points. no biggie and that's what I'd do. if you spin the 16 the other way, the tail piece unwinds and the point piece has to remember the long series. likely smart also as the point piece would likely be better cross trained to B moves. if you spin the 16 the other way and take extra time to swing move out of the 19 finish, then everyone is unwound and everybody can take a 6 point dive - it's an ugly swing move in this case though..... lots of options, and i'm sure one or more of these options would be rejected upon creeping it for real - I bet a pro would figure out something even better - I'm always amazed at what the guys come up with.... ... That's a lot different than saying single people should get better treatment. Frankly, I see no reason to have "Married filing (jointly or separately)" options in the first place. I really don't. the original post - only 6 posts before your comment most people saying they could understand if the cop had shot based on the video Billvon playing semantics junk everybody commenting on how amazing it was that the cop actually didn't shoot and how fortunately it was that's about it Nothing upstream at all about british vs US, etc until you played that card. ... do you read anything I write? simple and short - no one should be 'rewarded' or 'encouraged' either way. let people live their lives and do the best they can. I took exception from a poster stating that people should be "rewarded" for NOT having kids. I don't agree with that any more than being rewarded for HAVING kids. I think both are idiotic ... rehmwa replied to Amazon's topic in Speakers Corner
That's a disturbing statement. If the guy is deserving of criminal or civil consequences, so be it. I'm not sure I want committees deciding who is fit to have a particular job in private industry. Ominous wording there. "disturbing" is an understatement ... the real problem is this mentality of trying to reward or punish behavior instead of just expecting people to be responsible for themselves I hope you realize you're decrying a form of social engineering that has existed for many thousands of years. absolutely I'm decrying the abuse and mutation of that form, anyway - just look at the content of his comment - it's essentially "I think giving THAT group a 'break' sucks - we should really give MY group a break instead (or also)" - it originally was "hey, if I have to contribute, so do the other guys" and you wonder why all these societies are going broke? (see what I did there.....'break',,,,,,'broke',,,,,,{{hugging myself in glee}} ) today - "everybody" doesn't clean the fire pit. The rules have been hijack so that only a couple people clean the fire pit, do the hunting, and then they still have to share out the mammoth Bar-BQ. It's not the same social agreement as what was considered functional. Not even close. Those that refused to clean out the pit and expected free mammoth treats usually got left behind ... that was quite a quickdraw on the officer's part one can argue that the cop hesitated...... or that he had very quick reflexes and was able to judge the situation correctly and stop in time I'm voting for the 2nd - especially since the kid kinda pulled the gun out in a non-threatening, I-give-up, way. But really hard to tell in the moment. Hopefully the kid said something verbal "it's just a toy" that gave the cop another clue other than just taking the chance. Not only did the cop avoid a shooting, but I think he took a chance to get shot himself to try to confirm the situation - if it was a real gun, he'd have been shot and his partner would still have taken the kid down. best possible result - good on him ... nonsense. do you always resort to personal attacks based on nothing? My point is your complete hypocrisy to bash people based on the actions of strangers from several generations ago that you think you can link to anyone with weak connections - in complete disregard to you being in the exact same boat. Your stereotyping is disgusting and unfounded. I'm showing you how absurd you're being. It amazes me how you guys are only able to show nationalism and gross stereotypes - and have zero concept of that people are individuals. It's lazy and sad. ...
