  1. QuoteLast I heard, RWS wasn't very excited about making a new video, since it is fairly expensive to do, reply] How expensive could it be? Set up your camera with Bill behind the desk reading the new and improved information. Leave the same footage of Ron Jr. doing his tandem. TA-DA!!!! New tandem tape! Go to Wal-mart (or better yet, Sam's club) buy a case of blank tapes and start dubbing on rainy jump days. It's not like there are thousands and thousands of DZ's to get a copy to. Heck, I'm about ready to get my Vector rating and I'd do it for a free run through the course! Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. 2. My dad lives in Costa Rica and I visited a couple of years ago. Nothing. There was a semi-web site for a proposed DZ there for a while. It was just a home page front, saying it was under construction. It gave no details about who was behind it, etc. and finally it went away. I couldn't find anything in Panama or Nicaragua either. Costa Rica itself is beautiful. Have a good time, and be sure and carry your wallet in your front pocket! 3. Not sure where to post this but maybe someone who knows how to stop this will see it here and give a reply. I was just checking something on my profile. There is a place in your profile to list your own "home page" if you have one. (I don't, therefore mine is blank.) I notice that there is something listed in mine- a web site for some porno page. I did not... I repeat I DID NOT put that in my profile. Anyone else have this happen to them? Anyone know how to prevent it? Thanks in advance. 4. Thanks a ton Bro! This forum never ceases to amaze me. I just ordered on myself. Now I know why everyone is back-ordered... this seller still has 30 left! Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  5. I've done my digging. It seems everyone in the world is back-ordered on these. What gives? Anyone know where I can buy one? Better yet, anyone got one they want to share?!
  6. QuoteHell Yeah she said...Its a all nude Jump. Im rear floater..on kitty... reply] Be careful on that rear floater position as Kitty and I plan on launching a 2-way meeker! 7. So 3/16" aluminum? Does that sound right? I have done some rough checks and it seems like I can use a flat plate and mount the camera upside down underneath it without any real interference. 8. I'm flying a Hawkeye (dual-mount) camera helmet with a Sony TRV top mounted on it. I'm ready to mount my Canon Rebel, and I want to leave the TRV where it is as a top mount, and I'd like the Rebel in front. What are my hardware options to make this happen? Does it have to be some home-made platform? If so, what type and thickness material do I need? Arrow Dynamics doesn't have an accessory to accomplish this. Many, many tanks in advance. 9. What type coaching are you looking for... RW? Freefly? I just spent the weekend at Skydive Atlanta and there are plenty of qualified people there, but they get so busy, catching one can be difficult. I am a coach at Monroe. It is normally a little easier getting one that's available there. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. 10. OK, forgive the source but there is a post on the wreck that the DZO closed doors in the middle of the day and is selling the place to another DZO (whatever "the competition" means). Does anyone have any close knowledge of this? I am going to Vegas next month and was resigned to NOT taking my rig because of the bleak jumping scene there. Should I get my hopes up?! 11. OK... here's a world champion! Me: Want to get married? Stranger: No Me: Well if you don't want to get married, do you want to shack up? Stranger: No. Me: Well if you don't want to shack up, do you want to fool around? Stranger: No. Me: Well if you don't want to fool around, do you mind sitting still while I do? It's always good for a laugh! Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  12. Typo. I meant Tennessee Skydiving Center, not West Tennessee. Thanks for being able to know what I meant, even if I didn't. So Chaoskitty, any chance of getting on a smoking 8-way on a Saturday afternoon? Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. 13. Their web site says they have the DC-3 Mr. Douglas. Posts here says they are jumping a Westwind Beech for the season. Sooo... what are they actually jumping? I am planning a trip there later on. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  14. You weren't playing the "cute-chick card" were you Lew??? "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  15. I hope there has been more of these done in Paul's honor. And for the un-named individual... Paul would have gotten a kick out of ragging their ass for it! Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  16. The first one. To date it has cost me about $30,000. "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  17. Yesterday I went to visit old friends at Blue Sky Adventures in St. George, SC. The CSL meet was going on and everyone stayed busy. Last jump of the day, we put together a 20-way memorial jump for Paul Rafferty, with many on the load being long time friends with Paul. After the formation built, we flew it to 6k, where we had a designated puller to have a "missing man" formation until break-off. It was a very nice way to end the day. No big news here. Just thought that I would share. Others have probably already done something similar for Paul, and still others may have plans to. Either way, eternal Blue Skies to you Paul. 18. Picky, picky, picky. I know, I used the term static line to simplify. It was "statically" attached to the balloon. No freefall deployment. And from the pic I saw, it looked like he didn't have a rig on (for back-up). Fairly ballsy, none-the-less. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  19. ME getting my AFF! Now THAT would be a BIG thing! "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  20. OK... the 6.2 miles was his VERTICAL distance, not horizontal. 33,000 feet divided by 5280 (feet in a mile) = 6.25 miles. All he really did was set a record for the highest static line using a paraglider. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  21. Thanks guys. That was probably it. I am always having my non-jumping friends coming to me (to see if I've heard) whenever they hear news of a skydiving nature. They almost never have anything I haven't already heard about, thanks in a large part to this NG. I told him if it was a real skydiving world record, it would be nearly impossible for this group to not already be discussing it... probably well before it even happens. Thanks again. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  22. A guy at work (non-jumper, but reliable source of information) said last week he saw a piece of a TV news story about some type of hot air balloon skydive world record. Said it was in Germany (or at least it was a German jumper) and he thought he heard them say it was 33,000 feet. Said it looked like a regular hot air balloon, and that there was some sort of malfunction with the pilot's O2 system and he ended up passing out. I have looked through the posts here but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know anything about this... maybe saw the same news story? Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  23. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3251645/ Then click on "THE WEEK IN PICTURES". There is a very cool exit shot of a Golden Knight's demo. Frame #9. C'mon guys, Rock the Vote!
