I have a d-box on top. I was also thinking that the side with the ring site needs to be on the top side. Comments? Pictures? "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

QuoteYou might already have seen it, but BlueSBDeath posted this pick in a thread last week:reply] Yep. Saw it, thanks though. I was looking for something more specific to the Flat Top, where as that is a side mount helmet. The set up could be a good bit different. I have ordered a Pelican 1650 for my Flat Top Pro. I was wondering if anyone that is using this (or a similar case) for their Flat Top has any pictures of their helmet in the case. I am trying to figure out which would be the best way to cut out the foam to provide the most secure & protective lodging for my helmet. Many thanks in advance. First things first.... what type and size canopy have you requested? PD has a reputation for having the BEST demo program in the market. I am betting there is more to this story than the original rant... assuming this isn't a troll. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Wow! I am sorry to hear this Vic. Is there any chance you will re-open at a later time, and if so, when? "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

Are you talking about while in free fall, or under canopy? In free fall, definitely. Under canopy, not really, but you can the more you load a canopy, but it's with a shift of your body in the harness. Your instructors should be happy and eager to help you with these techniques, as well as others. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Might want to drop a line to Chris Spence. He just concluded his 2nd Dublin Boogie and it attracted 300 jumpers. There was 2 CASAs, an Otter, Caravan, Porter, helicopter, and 2 hot air balloons. I'd call that a successful attempt at creating a boogie. I am sure he could give you some dos and don'ts. I understand your concerns, and they are definitely valid, but the guy never claims to be a rigger. He says the owner of the gear is a rigger. I don't know who is selling this gear, but the difference between II and III is a fairly simple typo. If you are interested in the gear, I'd drop him a line to get some clarifications. If he is straight up, you'll know pretty quickly. Just a thought. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Just got in my Pro. Was wondering what people are using for the L bracket to mount their still camera on the front. I plan on mounting an EOS Rebel with a stroboframe. Thanks in advance guys! You might want to look up Jay Stokes (Mr. 535 Jumps in one Day). He has come up with some sort of system with an extra pair of toggles on the front risers (attached to somewhere in the front of the canopy)that do essentially the same thing. He told me a couple of weeks ago that the toggle pressure on them was less than the toggle pressure on his normal steering lines. Sorry, I don't have his e-mail, but he's not hard to track down. Jumps in Elsinore and Skydive Arizona mostly. Good luck. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Highest number of jumps prior to FIRST reserve ride?
BigM replied to skydiverek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There was an article in Parachutist or Skydiving (about a year or so ago) about a guy who had just made his 10,000 sport jump w/o a reserve ride. He had a few tandem chops, but none on his sport rig(s). As far as I remember, he's the only one to make it to 10 grand chop free. I remember 2 things he said in the article which seem to contradict each other. He said he takes a fix-it-before-it-breaks attitude toward his gear. And he said he's not picky about who packs for him. Go figure. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. If it is doable, SOMEBODY would want to! Hmmmm.... me thinks we could launch a 3-way..... "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

Does anyone use a stroboframe to mount your video camera to your helmet? What are the pluses and minuses for this? Obviously the camera is exposed (with no hard housing), but what else? I've seen a couple of people do it. Thanks- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

That is very clear, and makes sense. Thanks for the info. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

Looking at some of the Sony lens for my TRV-22. Some are listed as "wide angle lens"... some listed as "wide angle converter lens". So what is the difference? Many thanks in advance. BigM replied to CSpenceFLY's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hey guys- This will be a good chance to make some serious practice jumps for the (65-80?) ways at Dublin in a month. Come on, get on your belly, and lets's do it!!! Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car." -
Thanks guys. Bells always go off if the deal seems a little too sweet, but I was making absolutely sure. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

They have a 20D body for $909... by far the lowest I have found. Anyone ever use them? Are they OK to deal with? Thanks in advance. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

Yes, some. I have shot a little 4-way. This guy has shot 4-way at nationals before... without a wide angle lens. That is why I was wondering does anyone else do this. Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

Just a thought- Virtually everyone you see straps some type of wide angle lens on their video camera as soon as the get it out of the box. I jump with a fairly talented video guy that never jumps with a wide angle lens (unless shooting fairly big ways) and gets amazing footage. The color always looks a bit richer and the image just looks a bit better overall. When I shoot four-way teams I take mine off and am very happy with the results, but he has his off for tandems and everything else. Always in frame, and it fills up the screen better. I realize that the wide angle gives you a bigger margin for error, but he seems to do fine. I am thinking of going "lens-less". Anybody else do this? Thoughts?
