  1. Anyone know where there is an upcoming coach course in the GA / SC area? I can drive a reasonable distance from there. Thanks. Blue 111- Jeff skydive@comcast.net "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."

  5. Skydive Carolina has a video of every AFF level on there website. http://www.skydivecarolina.com/index.html click on AFF.. then on view videos. I think every DZ should have these on there website. Enjoy! "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  6. QuoteYou are better to find someone to watch you practice tracking. I concur. Do an entire jump (or 2 or 3) that is nothing but practice tracks. Get out, get stable, and pretend like it is breakoff time and track... back to the box... practice touch... then another practice track. Do this the entire jump to build body memory, and check you altitude every time you come out of the track. Do all this with a coach or very experienced jumper flying with you. You pretend they aren't there... this isn't an RW jump, they will just be observing to give you feedback (video would be nice too). Hope this works for you. Be safe and have fun! 7. I am assuming since the video is being made available that both lived. When and where did the jump take place? I would have to guess that this was a level 4 jump??? Were either injured more than bumps and bruises? This video should be shown to all AFF instructors as a refresher. It gives us all things to think about. 8. I just found something on Paragear's site that tells you that they are top mountable only. Blues. Thanks. "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  9. Trying to throw this camera helmet together to jump it in the morning. The D-box just came in from Bonehead...said for all TRV 1 chip cameras. I have a TRV 22 and wanted to side mount it. This box looks like it is for top mount only, and it is WAY longer than my camera is. Is it the right D-Box??? (pictures attached) Anyone got a TRV22 with a Bonehead D-box side mounted (or otherwise)??? Fast help is appreciated. 10. I just bought a new copy of Pinnacle 7 (which is essentially 8, minus some of the transitions, etc) and I can't get it to load music off of a CD. If I ever get it functioning properly I'll let you know, and see if you're still interested. "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. 11. OK... which model pelican are you guys using? I looked and it seems a 1610 might be the one. Comments? "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  12. Which size (model) do you use? The larger the better (it would seem). Does your camera helmet go in there too? Also, what do you use to carve/trim/shape the foam to fit your gear? Thanks Paul. 13. Anyone know where I can get one of those big aircraft aluminum cases? I think I want to get one and put the stiff foam inside that I can cut to custom fit my camera, helmet, and accessories. Any other ideas or suggestions are very welcome. Blue 111- Jeff skydive@comcast.net "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. 14. Can you use this quick release frame on the front lower mounting plate of the Bonehead Flat Top narrow helmet? I will be putting a Cannon Rebel on there. Thanks for your help. 15. I am just dipping my toe into the camera arena so please pardon my ignorance. #1- I am about set on getting the TRV22. While at Circuit City today, I saw a Sony brand 38mm wide angle lens for $39. Obviously the higher the quality the higher the price, but I am not going to be making a living with this... just some serviceable video and maybe some tandems in the future. SO... has anyone tried using one of these lens? And if so, is the result decent enough? #2- I am fairly well set on the Bonehead Flat Top Narrow for a camera helmet. Do you still have to have a D-box with this helmet, or will it bolt straight onto it, and then use some straps or bands to hold the view finder and view screen in place? Thanks in advance everyone. 16. Anyone familiar with the Sony DCR-TRV19? I am just putting my toe into the camera flying arena. Not planning on making a living with it but don't want to have to buy 3 cameras to finally get it to where I can make decent footage. Would like to film tandems and RW stuff with it. Any help GREATLY appreciated! Blue 111- Jeff "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  17. Pyke...here, hold this! HA! And you said no one could screw up your 200th jump. Did you ever get the video of it? Kate- thanks for the kiss... it was the best thing that happened to me the entire 3 days I was there! "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  18. skydivingmovies.com seems to be down. Anyone know where I can get just a regular tandem video clip ( a large file size isn't a problem)? I need to send it to someone who wants to make a jump. If that fails, which DZ has a "Watch a Tandem Video" clip/link on their web site? Thanks in advance. 19. [:) I have the question!!!! Na-ny-na-ny poo-poo! "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
  20. Tony- I checked out the very nice photos. Question: In the photo of point #2 there is one jumper clearly out. (at about 2:00, just inside of the outer ring). Surely there is another shot of the completion? Blue 111- Jeff
  21. Looks like we just lost a S.C. DZ. Blue Sky Adventures has closed shop. Even though I have only been jumping at that particular DZ for less than a year, it will be missed. Great people and always easy to find a jump to get in on. Blue skies to Blue Sky. "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. 22. OK. I'm a dumb ass. I just got my February SKYDIVING mag. Here's the question(s): *On the cover shot- What type of canopy is Brett Willard flying? ...and: **How many cells does the damn thing have. I seem to count 15 (I think...maybe even 14). Like I said...I'm a dumb ass. Thanks for your help. "When I die, I want to go like my grandmother, who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car."
