no, i think what you meant to say was, "does anyone have any POSITIVE thoughts on my new plain boring white Cookie Fuel? And please leave all the negative comments off"
-
Yeah, that white color is too blagh and plain. Looks like an expensive version of the Benny.

Hmmm, in reading your post it also looks like the "Romance" of skydiving has caught your attention. Just like there's some perceived romance in war it looks like you find some "romance" in skydiving; either by watching PRO wingsuiters who have 1000s of jumps or watching some Belgium dude named Felix jump from space. There's nothing "romantic" about skydiving. 20:1 ratio of guys to prospects. you spend 99% of the time on the ground. you spend tons of money on gear and beer. you jump on extremely hot and cold days. For that cute prospect walking around the DZ there are 20 hungry wolves waiting for their turn. There are clans and cliques in the skydiving community. you will lose some or most of your wuffo friends. So while your goal of 200 jumps is doable, be realistic about jumping off that Brixton or flying a wingsuit. Even at 38 years old i still think you have time to do all those with if you take your time (eventhough at 38 i still think you're old as hell! )
-
Just curious, but is this your mid-life crisis? A min of 200 jumps first of all..it can be done but are you willing to make some sacrifices; friends, girlfriend (or boyfriend these days),wife (or husband these days), other toys, trips, etc. The first year of skydiving is expensive: both in money and time commitment. I agree with some people here in that you need to go visit your local DZ and inquire about their schedule for AFF. OH and i know you mentioned you are a type A...pfft..one advice i can give you, check your ego and that type A at home whenever you decide to start learning how to skydive. Most type A's are the one's that take a little bit of extra risks and put us non-Type A's in danger..ya'll know what i'm talking about (low hook turns, downgrading really fast, etc). Listen to what your instructor tells you and do it.

ok, your reply makes me look like an ahole or am i just an ahole in general. I agree with what you posted and that's what I meant to say. Beer!

Congrtatulations!

First off a short disclaimer : you said "Any thoughts from anyone out there" so here are my thoughts. Some people might think i'm dick but i'm just telling people what others are afraid to say so i'll say it. If you really want to know what I think and what others are probably thinking but won't say then continue reading below. ============================================== Do you know why you are confused on what you are looking for? I'll tell you, it is because you've only done 3 jumps, you haven't demo'ed any other canopies, you haven't taken a canopy course, you haven't dived with anyone else other than your instructors, you haven't been versed in Brian Germain's WL progression guide, you havne't don't your first "whatever" (which means beer for us), you haven't done much. heck do you even know how to pack your own main? At a puggy 5'5" 200 lbs do you even know what your exit weight is and how that would effect your WL? At just 3 jumps how do you know what you will really want to do in terms of canopy flying and flying disciplines? And now you want to buy a rig, which i'm hoping you'll choose a sane canopy with a sane WL. You said "I don't think i want to purchase anything high performance right now"? Again how do you know what you want and what you don't want...or better yet what you need or don't need. Heck, you might even WANT a high performance rig and wing right now but you won't know until you graduate, start flying other wings, start refining your canopy and freefall skills, etc. For now, enjoy the class, finish AFF and work on getting licensed. Too many of you young thundercats are so eager to get new gear and not knowing what you even want.

Vector 3 Micron - Position of Cypres control unit
GooniesKid replied to freeflygirlz's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hullo..where ya getting your Vector? I'm looking into a Vector myself. thanks -
Funny how the brevity of your original question ( re : http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4438039;#4438039) and your subsequent attitude had generated a completely different thread. Apples are not oranges. They are not plums either. When comparing them and expect identical results. Wait..so this dude asks a very simple question and he gets jumped on by a bunch of jerks with a sarcastic answer and you are surprised by Rohicks's reaction and attitude?
-
Yeah what's up with that? I checked on this guy's post about new gear and he got a completely different response from the community.
-
So whats good for you must be good for everyone else? Who's "trolling" here? Stop giving out advice that you know nothing about. Good sir, which part of my reply insinuates advice of any sort? Perhaps a class in critical thinking and/or a bootcamp course in Logical Fallacies might serve you well before you start claiming I gave any advice.
-
As a programmer this is purely awesome!
-
LOL!
-
I think Canada doesn't want him either. You know what Pops',,,i think this is the first time you agreed with me somewhat. All other times you think i come off like a jerk when i'm only saying what people do not want to hear. I'd like to buy you a beer.
-
No offense, but you are kidding right? .76 WL and you think it's too high a WL? Are you trolling? Only reason why is because my WL is also around .7 and i dont think it's too high for me..in fact, if i got say a 170 i'd still be under 1.0.

Wow. You sir truely deserve this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQwe78oX2Nc
