Cancel your order immediately. I doubt they have done much more than put it in line for production, so before they do any work or cut any goods, cancel the order. You should be able to get 99% (if not 100%) of your money back. I gotta ask, between filling out the order form and getting measured, it never occured to you to ask how long it would take? When I order a pizza I want to know when it will be ready, and this seems like a bigger deal than a pizza. i already cancelled and got a full refund..now i have cash to go shopping

Ok, i paid up front for the rig..i was excited. I felt like an 18 year old going to a strip joint for the first time. That's how excited i was. Shame on me, i didn't inquire about the lead time....the next day, literally, i'm cruising around UPT's site and that's where i noticed the lead time.
-
you wanna know why?? huh?!!! Because i ordered a custom rig from them just last week! And i want my rig That's all i want. And all i got was this piece of receipt paper that basically says "we took 7 grand off your checking account..and you have nothing to hold..muuhahahah".
-
What exactly are you looking to get out of them? Well sir, i would like to get out from them a few things. 1. Why do they deserve to still be in business for a 40 week lead time? 2. Why should a customer consider their business when said customer can get a different rig with more or less the same "features" at a fraction of UPT's lead time? 3. What is a customer's incentive to purchase a rig with a 40 week lead time? Life time guarantee?
-
If only they knew how many people are not their customers because of the wait time.. Seriously man,,i'm with you on this! 40 weeks is ridiculous..a lamborghini can be custom built in 6 months (and the lamborghini probably has 10000 more moving parts than a container) I won a certificate last year for a discount on a Vector. I ultimately decided against buying because I couldn't justify spending money on a new container when I already have one that's nearly brand-new and a backup that's used but still in excellent shape. However, the lead time was also a consideration, especially when I realized that I could get pregnant and create human life in less time than they'd deliver me a rig. Exactly! I mean in 40 weeks things can change for most people. That slogan "our customers are willing to wait" is a huge cop-out! I bet ya that most of UPT's "customers" are the one's they sponsor anyways. I can also bet you the same dudes that work at UPT would hate to wait 40 weeks for their rig. This thread should really be about "What Can Be Built, Accomplished, or Erected Faster Than A Rig From UPT" Christ, can anyone who works at UPT chime in on this?

Yo! I figured this out. Student is 200lbs flying a 280 which is roughly .7WL. During aff my WL was about .7 also. When I pulled at 5500grand it took me about 8 minutes to get back down. I used the Altirack on my AFF dives and have the times recorded during the canopy flight down. edited: during the 8 minute flight down i did not do any 360 spins,,i was still in AFF so i was scared to push the canopy :D

how much does the student weigh?

1 ring riser? C'mon dude, you've been in the sport a long time. Does this even makes sense?
-
40 weeks? what the hell? UPT only hired 1 dude to manufacturer rigs? Can anyone from UPT address this 40 week lead time? I mean c'mon, that rig better have a life time warranty for a 40 week lead time or perhaps when you get the new rig have a case of beer packed in the container. 40 weeks is almost waiting for a baby to be born (or something like that)

I like the idea of both renting out my rig AND a written agreement. Would that written agreement really hold up in court or is that written agreement bulletproof in an event such as (see scenario below): Some dude : Hey mang, i'd like to rent out your rig for the day. Meh : hmmm, you weigh 190lbs, my wing is a 150, and the harness looks like it'll fit you...yeah man go for it, but here's a written agreement that releases me of ANY liability and you cannot sue me if anything goes wrong. Some dude : hmmmm, is your rig air worthy, when's the last time the reserve has been packed. Meh : yeah it's airworthy and that last reserve pack was yesterday.

You weight 162lbs and have to use weight? what's a "good" WL? I'm 130lbs, don't use weight, fly mantis style to keep up with groups, and fly a .9 WL. However, since i've been getting flack for not address any OP's questions, my 2 cents would be to check with Square 1 or ChutingStar...those are good places to start. *shakes head* 162 lbs

Oh god..here we go again. Another golden-boy who thinks he's bulletproof after graduating AFF. Why are you attacking him? He in no way indicated that he "should" be jumping a 170 or that he is even capable. All he did was ask a question. So either answer it with respect or go and post somewhere else. I'm sure there's no shortage of the type of amusement you're looking for in the swooping forum. I'll even start a thread for you if you like. hey bro..meet me and TracyS at the bar...we'll have a brewski over this *looks at TracyS*
