I keep looking at...dat ass! is that a real picture of you?

Didn't the Hollister incident happen due to this scenario ? Isn't Hollister a sketchy place to jump..heard it is.

So, the harsh reality...to get into this elite sport of badass is going to take money..plain and simple. AFF - money. You young thundercats that like to go FF after AFF - money. Post AFF - money. Coached jumps - money. Renting gear - money. Driving to DZ - money. You young thundercats that like to buy their own rig after AFF (used or new) - money. With that being said, if you do not have a stable job and do not get allowance from mommy and daddy, i would recommend holding off until you do have a job. if you do have a job (which probably doesn't pay much unless you have mommy and daddy self-owned businesss) then it's up to you. You'll probably hear others on the forums say something like "oh you can do AFF off a menial job that pays minimum wage" or "if you want to do it you'll find a way..why don't you start packing rigs". That's fine to but brass tax, the reality of it is that it is expensive. You asked for an estimate...and this is an ESTIMATE everyone else! $5000+ Best way to get an estimate for YOU is to simply contact your local DZ and ask them how much their AFF course is. Then factor in the cost to drive, any tunnel time you might want to make, the possibility of repeating a jump during your AFF course, food, some personal gear like helmet, altimeter, suit (and some people here will say "oh but the DZ will provide you with a helmet, suit, altimeter".) But if you want to start with those items factor those in as well. Luckily i don't have a job..i have a career. secondly,it is possible to jump during the winter...depends on where you live, if the DZ is open during the winter, and if you can take the cold. And lastly, welcome to DZ.com.

Interesting.... Would you make a post like that to any of your male buddies??? Heya Amazon! I love that profile pic. By the way, i lived on Christians Road north of the cemetary back when i was in Astoria.

What up with L&B? Customer service is Sh##t..
GooniesKid replied to vandev's topic in Gear and Rigging
That's odd..i thought i was the only one that thinks L&B have crap customer service. My story: had an Altitrack, was not zero'ing to my current location, and I sent an inquiry to L&B to see what to do or if they can take it back for a diagnosis and/or repair...low and behold, they never got back to me. Any L&B representatives on dropzone.com want to comment to save your reputation? -
So, if I make a vibrator joke do I have to ban myself? Because, I was totally going to make a vibrator joke! Relax, this is The Bonfire. You'd get the same type of answers if you were standing around a bonfire at the dz. The is no rule against making jokes in this forum. Please don't use vibrator in your comment. Thinking about it is making me crazy!

Looking to start this winter!
GooniesKid replied to LawrenceCohen's topic in Introductions and Greets
LOL! Only reason why I lol is because, bro, you will too stimulated with information and what's going around you to even care if you have family or friends watching you from the JUMP plane. And that's another thing, if you're going to become one of us "exclusive jumpers" start with using correct lingo. It's jump plane not airplane. And winter? why you no start now? Unless you like the cold And gear..well, dude posted that you won't need gear,,yet. And please don't start asking about getting gear at this early stage. it's been beaten to death,,,just don't go there, yet. Oh, and you'll need money for for the next few years. Oh, and the prospects..they are far and few so know the DZ is a "sword" fight for the pretties prospects. -
...at first i was like ...then i saw the pic and thought ...but then i was like "oh feet! i love feet!" Hope you feel better 'Mama

A girl can wear make-up at the dz and still be serious about skydiving. Have you ever met Jeannie Anderson? Roberta Mancino also comes to mind~ There are quite a few beautiful women around the sport that look like they can land on one kind of 'runway' and strut down another 2 minutes later! There are also other beautiful women skydiving that can't seem to get out of bed or off a ladder without breaking something...THEY 'could' strut down a models runway...but probably shouldn't. what about Skymama? She's beautiful too. And stop talkinga about my wife, Roberta Mancino. That's just her stage name. her real name is Roberta Kid. Awwwwwh! You're kinda cute (in a Dam doll sorta way)! I see what you did there! But i was being serious..would love to go on 1 date with Skymama.

it ain't very hard to get basic quals to just pack reserves....i know people who don't even have a high school diploma that have rigger quals

1. Always plan a route. Have places to stop and chill out. find out if there are biker stops. half the fun is the journey. 2. Always check the weather and plan #1 accordingly. 3. Plan rest stops along the way. Plan at a motel if necessary (whether you pick up some prospect along the journey or if you get tired...i prefer the former). 4. Hydrate and if necessary see #3. 5. I wear under-armor micro-fiber boxer briefs..why? Because a sweaty ass in cotton underwear is so uncomfortable and smelly. 6. Get your bike to a mechanics shop just to make sure it is in the best working condition.

Try a cannon ball jump. Position yourself as a float exit, then backflip out. Diving exits are easy and boring really.

Would you please just go get laid? JerryBaumchen Aww c'mon Jer..i mean, i couldn't help but notice those legs. Speaking of Goonies, i see you live up in Oregon. Do you know where Astoria is? Purely coincidence but that is my hometown bro!
-
I like that idea. AND, you know what's cool? That chick in the video..she has nice legs don't cha think?

...type of Lo-Jack system for rigs. There must be a way to fit a small/lightweight Lo-Jack system on a rig right? All these recent reports of stolen rigs... I bet the most likely culprits of stolen rigs are the 1 time visitors and NOT the veteran weekend warriors.

There were only 2 people who knows what really happened..the instructor and your hubby. And the DZ will most likely side with the instructor on his/her story...just saying. So if you hubby wants to go again then i'd say go for it. Don't let 1 bad jump discourage him. I'm sure you want your stud-ly hubby to be a proud skydiver right? You know what they say about us skydivers...i'll leave that to your imagination what to do? well there's a few choices: 1. Talk the owner into getting a free jump (probably won't work but it's worth a try. 2. Try another local DZ. Which DZ is this so i might avoid it in the near future? 3. Take hubby to a wind tunnel...that way he will get used to the rush of air and perhaps be more "relaxed" on a jump. 4. Instead of jumping how about a spontaneous weekend of wild dirty sex...just saying...just an idea. 5. Talk to instructor on what your hubby can improve on (if he needs improvement)...then have that spontaneous weekend of wild dirty sex. again, just saying, just an idea.

Or could it maybe, possibly, be 3) that all single guys on the DZ are acting like horny douchebags and/or the women are just not interested? Nah, couldn't be that. I'm not a horny douchebag! A douchebag, maybe,,,but a horny douchebag is kinda stretching it

Returning to the Sport after 10 years away!
GooniesKid replied to Backintothesky's topic in Introductions and Greets
So welcome back to the sport. and why were you gone for so long? ya gotta stay with the in-crowd mang. since you've been gone for so long you need to work your way back up ...which means the first thing you need to do is give your local DZ and staff some BEER!
