    I was there at nationals with my ticket in hand, a female from the Atlanta area got the awesome gear package. It was funny when B.Ottley gave out her phone# inadvertently, they tried to call her live during the presentations but got her answering service. Can't remember her name.     I agree with most replies, slow horizontal with fast vertical = classic PLF. Fast horizontal with slow vertical = modified PLF/slide. However I myself find it preferable to fly the landing out as far as possible and runoff excess speed if my speed is acceptable. Can this be a recipe for bumps/bruises or worse?     I've had both a slow and high speed mal's, bad line twist with a flying canopy (1500 harddeck chop-n-pop) and a horseshoe (threw pc then chopped), neither of'em seemed hard... I don't recall actually thinking anything thru, just recognition and then reaction as trained and drilled. I'm always going over differrent "E" procedures in my head and as a result I found that my responses are somewhat automatic. Sure some would say that some mal's have more than one suggested way to deal with'em or that one way is better than another, but in a highspeed mal you may not have time to assess and decide. Especially those who actively try to influence our elections thru the general public and by behind the scenes deals with the candidates. A vote for Kerry was a vote for the United Nations and socialism to gain more of a foothold in the U.S..     My sincerest sympathy and condolences to Groundzeros family and close friends. I've had the pleasure of talking to Groundzero many times here at DZ.com and met and jumped with him and his group at his Tullahoma,TN DZ, I've a very fond memory of one jump in paticular which shall serve as my rememberance of him.     I agree with alot of whats already been said, in particular with "Skydiving IS Dangerous!" I never tell people its safe becuase as you learned even a minor screw-up can hurt... ALOT!     Aaargh! Yes, I'll take some Q&A and my bags searched, this was/is ordinary stuff for international flights/customs. If it keeps some yahoo from killing you, me or our families, no problem. I do not feel that this is a VIOLATION of my rights. If the police get a APB and you fit the description, your gonna get stopped and questioned. No difference in my mind.     Alas... I'll take one more. Just about everyone gets their luggage searched, scanned ect... They walk thru metal detectors ect... Whether they know it or not most get eyeballed one way or another... If your suspicious, if you fit a profile constructed from whatever means being used, then what is wrong with a little more in-depth screening? Nothing.
